I've apologized many times for accidentally slouching my shoulders, etc. I wouldn't call it relaxing experience but I've always cared more about an even cut. Sometimes my bangs have been too chunky and other times it doesn't lay right but it's always even. The coloring is inconsistent though. Sometimes it looks okay and other times not so much. I am so unhappy with my recent balayage. It is very brassy (aside from an almost white front) and I absolutely hate these tones in my hair. They look awful with my skin tone. I wanted to cry when I left because I came in with an almost blank canvas of virgin hair, any hairstylist's dream that I had grown out to have this look done. Since, I've tried to use different toners at home but at this point I figure I just have to grow it out, or pay someone for a color correction since it's such a solid brassy tone throughout my whole head. This isn't going to be a very nice grow out either because it contrasts so heavily with my natural color, which is an ashy dark blonde. I wanted a low maintenance, natural look and this is anything but. I would just expect more after 4+ hours and $350.

I was cutting about six inches off my hair, she shampooed, cut and curled my hair and it looked fine. A few days later I shampooed and tried to style my hair, the layers and bangs were uneven, I called and they got me back in so the stylist could fix the issues. She seemed a bit flustered but did she see some problems with the cut and she tried to fix it. The next day I washed my hair and it is still uneven. I enjoy researching and since my 10 year plus stylist moved out of town, I researched my heart out to find a new one. My first choice was a fail. Actually, Grey Salon Studio was my first choice but the other salon I tried first was recommended, so I gave it a shot. Cut was fine but color was dark on top and light on bottom. Kind of like an ombre but without the fade. By the time I got in to see Veronica at Grey Salon Studio, my color had lightened a bit but still wasn't right. Veronica fixed it, easily and beautifully. And gave me a terrific cut with much needed body and a more current style. BTW, I am horrible at styling my hair. Since Veronica couldn't blow dry and style me (Covid-19 precautions), I went home and did it myself. I was surprised how easy and great looking it came out! Testament to her skills.

I found the Blo Blow Dry Bar and saw that you could set up an appointment fairly easily last minute to get a wash and scalp massage, and at a pretty reasonable price. I decided that I'd just get the whole shebang, and get my hair styled and my makeup done too. Then I wouldn't have to burden myself with doing any of that on my birthday. The woman who took care of me was wonderful! She asked what the special occasion was, and I let her know that my partner was pampering me for my birthday. She washed my hair with a lovely scalp massage, and asked if I wanted to add any hair treatments, which I did because hey, it was my birthday. The one she put on my hair made it so soft, and since I don't have a salon appointment scheduled until February, it will hopefully keep my hair fairly healthy until then. I loved how she styled my hair, which gave it tons of body. I actually think it looked even better later on that day, and the next day. The makeup was done by the same person. She was very complimentary about my skin and face. I'm very particular about how my makeup (and hair actually) and done. I thought she went a little overboard on how much makeup she put on, but that's probably just my opinion. In the pictures the makeup looks very well done, which makes sense due to the fact that they are used to doing wedding makeup, and there's a lot of photo taking at weddings. For daily wear, it's just too much makeup. I ended up wiping some off just so I didn't look too made up for going on errands and the like. Overall, it was a great experience. It ended up being quite a bit more money than I originally thought it was going to be, but most of it was worth it. I'd come back to get my hair washed and styled for a special occasion, but I'll most likely skip the makeup application.
