Most that do hair at Mod Salon in Littleton, pretty much considers themselves a "Master Stylist". That means nothing as it is not an earned or rewarded position. The consultation is figuring out how they can convince you to wear your hair in a manner that they cut or color. The unknowledgeable stylist that I paid was arrogant, self absorbed and untalented. I would rather cut my hair with a rusty kitchen knife than go to this salon. My elderly mother was visiting from out of town and after a day of lunch and shopping in the charming old town Littleton, she said she would like to have her hair done. We walked into Mode Salon and approached the receptionist to ask her if anybody there still did shampoo sets. The receptionist actually snickered and said, " that is definitely not something we would offer here." She then said, " i don't even know what that is." I realize it's old school, but how can you say it's a service you don't offer if you don't even know what it is, and do so with attitude? I am not a normal Yelp contributor, and am normally not picky at all, but I put a lot of value in my hair and after three days of crying about my hair I want to warn new customers of Mode Salon to proceed with caution based on my experience. I had a lot of issues with my experience with Mode Salon, including being charged 2 1/2 times my original estimate but I'll focus on the two most important things:cut and color. First of all, I made an appointment for a color (estimated at $75 on the website) but when I sat down my stylist asked if I'd like a trim. It had been quite a while since my last appointment and had significant dead ends so I agreed. This "trim" consisted of my stylist cutting my hair, which had been down to my bra strap on my back, to my collar bone. We didn't do a full cut, no shape or layers, just a straight across cut that didn't last 5 minutes, yet I would find out later I was charged $50 for this "haircut". Then, we came to the color. I showed the stylist a picture of the color I was going for. The color I ended up with is considerably darker. I've attached both pictures for your own judgement. I ended up being charged $175 total and the process took almost three hours. Everyone was nice at Mode Salon and I'm not trying to be an @ss hole, but if, like me, you can't really afford a salon to charge you 250% a quoted price, and can't afford to recolor/get highlights if it's not what you want you might want to be a little careful at this place. read more

A few years ago, I went nearly black, and have been working my way up to my natural colour which is a light brown, but still having fun in the meantime without using permanent colour! She talked me into getting extensions while I grow out my hair, but still getting healthy trims...I don't know how I didn't get these sooner! Love Baylie, and I love her hair recommendations! This is not a top salon in SF or NY! It's a little dinky salon in Littleton that can't seem to keep their appointments straight. I got my hair done twice because the first time the color was not what I asked for and the cut was uneven. Second time for the redo, I still don't feel like the stylist know how to match a picture and I am still unhappy with my hair. I appreciate being able to go back and get a redo for free, but now I have to go somewhere else to try and see if someone can really match the balayage look I want. I called Von Ya's at 2:15, hoping to get a same-day appointment and they did not disappoint. I saw Taylor at 3pm. Upon entering the salon, they offer you some water, tea, or coffee. Before I had a chance to catch up on my celebrity gossip, Taylor was ready for me. We talked about my hair, what I usually do to it (or what I don't do to it) and what I wanted done. Afterwards, she offered a hair/scalp massage (but I declined) and we were ready to go. The shampoo they used was some type of purifying shampoo. Smells lovely. Back over to the chair. Taylor cut my hair and then did dome defining cuts while it was dry. Love that! We had time so time so I had Taylor wax my brows. Quick and painless. I always turn red at other places, but not here. I would definitely go back to her. The price was right and she loves what she's doing. Oh, and another bonus- nobody forced me to buy any products. Love that, too! read more

I hate to admit it, but I cheated on Mop Factory a few weeks ago because I was in a total hair funk and couldn't hold out until my next appointment! I decided to check out Main Street Littleton to see if there was anything that might strike my interest. Lo and behold, I found Von Ya's! (I admit, the $30 coupon for cut & color on their website was good persuasion too...) Von Ya's is a really cute Aveda salon with beautiful exposed brick walls - very homey, and everyone there is really friendly. Sarah was my rock star that day, and I had a blast chatting with her while she fixed up my lifeless locks. I was pretty pumped that she know what to do with really thin, fine hair. Baylie is a natural! I've been to the many salons in downtown Littleton and everyone is about it overpricing and producing an "okay" finished product. I have natural thick, black hair and was scared to pay yet another $250-$300 for an "okay" hair color/cut but Baylie did an outstanding job. I originally went to get a hair cut and the pricing for the service was spot on; she cut it exactly how I wanted, the wash, dry, and styling was great. Then we got to talking about dying my hair a darker but light color than the blonde I had in it. Baylie was able to get my hair along the lines of the color I wanted, it had some low and "high" lights in it and the pricing came out well within a great range for the excellent service that was done. SO disappointed. I used to love Vonyas and have had good experiences at Mode. Today was not one of them. I had just a shampoo and blow dry. The stylist could NOT have been less friendly or more disinterested. She did an awful job and then had the audacity to charge me $40. I've never paid that in the past. It's always nerve wracking to try a new salon for the first time. Especially as I'm miss picky picky pants about my hair and get really upset if it goes wrong. Mode was recommended to me by multiple of my neighbors so I though I'd give it a try. I saw Shareena and afterward I am pleased to say she cut my hair exactly like I wanted. I mean, exactly. I was so happy! She was a very good listener. She really knows her stuff, and from what many of my neighbors say the other stylists do too. The price wasn't the lowest, but not outrageous either, especially for how happy I am and reasonable for seeing their senior stylist, I feel like it's great value for the money. I though their Covid protocols all made sense and that they were clearly pros about all that. It definitely felt safe inside and I was far away from other clients. I have been going to Von Ya's to get my hair done since this summer, when I found them on Yelp. I was looking for a major change (I had long, heavy, thick hair that was multiple colors since I hadn't kept up with dyeing), and Ali delivered. She changed my color to a vibrant red and gave me a much shorter, but not "short," style in which she also thinned out my hair. I felt amazing when she was done and the best part was that I am now able to easily style my hair at home, and it takes me less than 10 minutes to blow-dry my hair. I go back every 7 weeks for a cut/color, and each time Ali does a great job. I am so glad to have found a good salon and stylist not far from my house. Von Ya's is really cute, and everyone that works there is very friendly. It's an Aveda salon, which means it has tons of natural products available that are good for your hair. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone in Littleton who is looking for a great hairdo and a nice stylist. read more

Being short, I realize the right hair product will make me appear taller. That's why I scoped out an Aveda carrier in the area and I found myself staring in the window of Von Ya's (dang, my hair looks good, I thought as I saw myself in the reflection. Actually that's what I thought I would think after going to Von Ya's). I specified to the chic and friendly workers at Von Ya's what I wanted, and they led me right to the proper product for this hair. I knew that because of them, I could get my faux hawk perfectly shaped to take on the world. Von Ya's is a great little Salon in the heart of downtown Littleton. The workers are great, and the owner is very hospitable. If you drive by Von Ya's in the morning, you will often see her sweeping the sidewalk in front of her salon to give it a great appearance for your great experience. read more

Before I started seeing Baylie a few months ago, I hadn't had anything done to my hair for about a year and a half due to the fact I couldn't find anyone who could color and cut my hair correctly. Being new to the Denver area, of course it was time to get my tresses cut, and I needed to find a salon. Von Ya's was recommended to me by a fellow Yelper, and also Sarah was the stylist recommended. She and I hit it off right away and I had a fabulous consultation prior to the cut. Fortunately, my husband solved all of my problems by researching salons and giving me a gift certificate to Von Ya's. My whole entire experience there was super positive- from the friendly greeting to the attentive styling by Donny. Sometimes I feel like salons just try to boot you out of the door as fast as possible, but after a great hair cut, Donny took a lot of time to get the rest of the 'do just right. I got my hair cut and highlighted and root touch up from Brooke yesterday. Brooke did a nice job on the cut. The hairline framing my face was dyed in a striped pattern which I didn't notice till I got home and looked at my hair in a brighter light. I called explaining the problem and asked for an appointment for someone to fix it and was told the next available appointment was in 10 days. I explained that I needed something sooner and was told apologetically that this was the best they could do. I would have thought someone would come in early or stay late to fix a problem of stripes. I have been to Mode a few times over the last year. I've been happy with my hair and the stylists each time, but their front desk disorganization is why I will not be going back. Every single time I have scheduled my last either 3 or 4 appointments, I received a call either the day before or day of because they need to reschedule my appointment for whatever reason. I understand that mistakes happen and that's fine, and if it happened once or twice that would be one thing, but the fact that this is a consistent problem and has continually happened for every single one of my last few appointments is ridiculous and a huge inconvenience. I have a busy schedule and it is absolutely not worth the hassle since they can't seem to get their act together. read more
