We popped in here a few months back for a quick croissant sandwich and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. Today, we needed a quick breakfast and I immediately thought of Jelly Donut's croissant sandwich. Happy to say it's just as delicious as I remembered. This time we also grabbed a couple of glazed twists for Hubs and I requested a couple of donut holes "just to taste". As I've said before in other reviews, I really dislike being disappointed when I bite into a donut that looks delicious, but then tastes like soy oil. These donuts are SO YUM!!! Like, fluffy and CLEAN tasting. No oily aftertaste. Soooo....Yeah. I ate one of Hub's twists after finishing my light and flaky, HUGE, ham & cheese croissant. I'm an Apple fritter snob, and I almost did not want to get one here. I asked the owner how his apple fritters were, and he said people like them. I thought that was an interesting answer - usually, they don't say what "others" feel but what they think about what they create. I bought one. I ate one, then I bought two more and ate those. I try to eat clean; I keep to the right way. I lost 135 pounds last year with a lot of hard work. But now - I will drive my butt to San Fernando to buy apple fritters when I'm feeling naughty. They are the perfect blend of soft, crunchy, chewy, and super clean tasting with no "oily" aftertaste. It honestly has the cleanest taste that I have ever experienced in a fat-fried confection. Stopped by yesterday got 2 donuts very very disappointed there donuts are so good from previously tasting, but mine had mold. You can tell it had mold and had glaze over it. Hidden gem behind the San Fernando strip mall next to Denny's. Really friendly staff and good selection on donuts and other treats. I've had most of the donuts and no complaints very tasty and taste freshly made. Sandwiches made to order with a variety of combinations and not too expensive. Definitely a small place and parking might be an issue but if you get over that it is worth the trouble. The owner is a jovial and very kind woman that usually has a small story for me. For me, this place makes the best ham and cheese croissant. I like mine with jalapeños but they have plain ones also. I try to go early enough because they run out. If you ask she will make one for you but it tastes a little different because they are not completely sealed. They are still good though. The doughnuts are good also half dozen will run you $4.20 while the dozen will be $7.60. read more

Just picked up a box of a dozen assorted donuts for $7.75 and they were a hit with my co-workers! They were all yummy and the owner threw in an extra donut for free. As the other reviewers have mentioned, "don't judge a book by its cover". I highly recommend giving this under appreciated donut shop a chance when you're in the area. I went in for breakfast on Thursday. One of the owners is named John, who is very friendly and welcoming. The menu is diverse and not too expensive. They have sandwiches, bagels, croissant sandwiches, smoothies, fruit and veggie juices, and boba teas. I ordered a turkey, cheese and egg sandwich, it was pretty big and about $4. The Thai tea was delicious and not too sweet. I also went this morning and ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant and i loved it. This might be my new favorite breakfast spot! read more

I was on my way to have my taxes done and i was early and i thought: hmmmm, what can i bring to the women in the office as a way of bribing them to increase my tax returns? (something like change that 2 into an 8 sort of thing) I yelped and noted that i was close to Jelly Doughnuts so i dropped in for a dozen. There was not a big selection at 10 am so i left it up to the Jelly Lady to put together a dozen. There were vanilla and chocolate cake and vanilla and chocolate glazed plus a few strawberry jelly as well as buttermilk: glazed and unglazed and an apple fritter, All of this for the unbelievable price of $7.75! plus this was for 13 not 12 in that she gave me a glazed buttermilk for free because i complimented her hair do. Physically the cake doughnuts were very lush, the crumb nicely falling apart in your mouth. The glazed dough was stiffer than the cake which is normal but the actual sugar glaze coating was a bit cloying: too much imitation vanilla. The Big hit as far as i am concerned are the Buttermilks: very tasty, slightly acidic, slightly sour. very delicious. Obviously they use real buttermilk here and not a combo of milk and vinegar. Primo. I also bought a couple of all of the above for my donut crew: my official donut tasting panel. they gave an overall score including all of the above varieties of 3.5 meaning the d nuts scored from 3-4: on par with the Glendale shops. Don't let the location and the actual shop deceive you. The owners are extremely nice and the lady is always smiling. THE SANDWICHES ARE REALLY GOOD. My favorites are the pastrami and anything with the croissants. Everything from the croissants to the meats tastes extremely fresh and are put together very nicely.
