He might have literally saved our lives. He came out to fix a clog (and he was able to fix it when other plumbers have tried and failed) and we asked him to look at replacing our water heater as well while he was here. He noticed that the vent on our water heater had disconnected, and was venting carbon monoxide into our home!!! He jumped up and reconnected and secured the vent. Then he went and checked the downstairs water heater and showed me that the last plumber that replaced that water heater made a short cut with that vent and had it going to the outside wall instead of the proper vent pipe that goes to the roof. He was appalled at that, and fixed it right away. He did great work at a reasonable price and probably saved our lives. I've now ordered a CO detector. Scary. read more

JEG Plumbing - Noticing our vent had disconnected and fixing it might have saved our lives. Thanks Ricky! - Plumbing Near Me

Your company apparently was hired by home depot to do work at my house on a frozen valve. The employees were inconsistent on the price and racially profiled my tenants. It's been 3 weeks and you still haven't contacted my property manager to conduct the work. I've posted a negative review on bbb as well as several other companies. And I will continue as long as you keep losing work. Your customer service is completely unprofessional. This is how you treat active duty military members stationed overseas. Thanks. read more

Ricky has great communication skills and is very quick to get to my home to evaluate my problem. For eight years my landlord has sent others to look at my water pressure and water issue. Ricky was able to diagnose the problem immediately. This tells me he's very knowledgeable and passionate about what he's doing. read more

Ricky is so knowledgeable and a quick fixer. And never forgot to clean up the dirt after the work. He has our drain unclogged, and leaked disposal and one faucet replaced, works step by step very methodically. During the whole works, he told my how to unjam the disposal, how to shut down the water meter. He told me he do the plumbing works since he was 14. That's explain why he is that experienced! Very satisfied! read more

My normal plumber was super busy for a bad water heater I had, so he referred me to a plumber (who was also busy) who referred me to JEG/Ricky. At first, I was super happy about this communication skills and speed at returning calls. (so many contractors are bad at this). I had a water heater which was not keeping its temperature accurately. Over the phone, Ricky said most likely is was the thermostat that needed to be replaced, which would be 1-2 hours of labor and the part, and service charge. So about $250-300. I thought, not so bad... I texted him the model and serial number, so he could get it in advance and save us both time. Unfortunately, he said the Ferguson's Plumbing Store near me did not have it when he went there (due to a part number change that I verified) and he said he had to drive 1.5 hours to and from Round Rock to get it and charge me for the driving time. I thought, why did I bother giving him the model info if he couldn't track down the part in advance?? I even offered to go get it myself, but he said he had already spent time trying to locate it. So now my full estimate ballooned to $550. I understand time is money, but my money, is well, my money. At this point, if I had said no to the job, I would still be out the service charge and one hour minimum fee, so about $130, so I had to weigh my losses.... Like most people who need things fixed in a hurry, I sadly said yes to the $550 estimate. (note: The next day, I called Ferguson's myself and in 5 minutes of part number work, found an equivalent part in stock at the at the 51st St. location, 10 minutes away.) Then, one of the parts he got was not the right length (he blamed Ferguson's), so he had to go again to Ferguson's. Luckily, he did not charge me for that time. In the end, the job took about 5 hours to finish and the person staying at the place for me had to go, so he only got to test the temperature setting quickly. But it seemed the water temperature was still not consistent. As Ricky stated, and I totally agree, plumbing is a bit like cars or diseases.... it is not always easy to diagnose a problem. So the next day and a fellow nice plumber friend of his came out again for 90 minutes of good investigative work (at no charge) to try to re-diagnose the problem. They said it could be a hidden mixing valve or maybe just due to high rate shower heads. So did I pay $550 for a new thermostat that wasn't broken?? It seems so. So, basically, Ricky could have done a way better job of finding the part and not charging me for all that time. But in his defense, he did spend way extra time trying to figure out the problem. Could another plumber have figured it out faster and cheaper at the first diagnosis?? Maybe or maybe not? If he had charged me less, I would have given him 3-4 stars. read more

I had an outstanding experience with Ricky. I made a call because of a drain jam, standing water in our dishwasher, and a potential clog. He'll be the first person I call if another issue arises in the future. read more

Ricky is fantastic! For one thing, he is a Master Plumber which is a hard-to-earn designation. He came to our house to replace our water heater a couple of weeks ago and did a great job and charged fairly. The following week our kitchen disposer started shooting food out of the sink and it turned out that we had a terrible clog that we hadn't known about. Ricky came out within 2 hours and fixed it and, again, his pricing is very fair. In fact he didn't want to charge me for a full hour of his time but I insisted on paying for the full hour...its only fair. We will call Ricky any and every time we have a plumbing issue!! Thank you for great service and your skill! read more

Ricky was awesome. I had a water leak in the freshwater line from the meter to the house due to tree roots. Ricky was able to make it out the same day to assess and repair the problem. He replaced the damaged pipes and got our water supply back up and running. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and kept me informed of what caused the issue, repair time, parts and warranty. JEG is spot on and I highly recommend their services for any plumbing needs you may have. He'll definitely be my go to person from this point forward (In the past, I have used another company; they couldn't have been bothered to even return my call this time). Have an issue, give JEG a call...fast, friendly, and fair. read more

We called JEG Plumbing because our disposal had stopped working. Ricky gave us a simple suggestion over the phone that we tried, and it worked! Saved us the cost of a service call. An honest business. Thanks Ricky and we will call you again when the need arises. read more

I am very impressed with JEG Plumbing. I have needed Ricky's help on two separate occasions. Both situations were time sensitive and both times he was able to make my situation a priority. He showed up right when he said he was going to both times. He is a master of his craft and takes his work seriously, but he also has a very comforting demeanor, is extremely easy to talk to and will receive every possible referral I can send his way. He's on my speed dial list from here on out and I highly recommend his services. read more

He even worked around some construction issues that made the installation difficult. I recommend him for any plumbing job. read more

I hired Ricky on the advice of another plumber who was too busy to do our job. We had Ricky replace our old three valve bathtub system with a new Delta single turn valve while we were having some tile work done. He also recommended that we run the shower head from 6ft. up to 7ft. which is the new standard. I'm glad we did because it looks much better. I would definitely hire him again to do more work for us in the future. read more

I'd called a different plumber first and they were booked, but recommended JEG. We were having problems with our water heaters and Ricky was fantastic. He's very thorough, explained everything he was going to do and why, showed me the defective parts, and labeled everything for future reference. We had issues to with both water heaters, he got them fixed and running, but one of the new parts he installed was defective. He came back out, reinstalled the new parts and got it working at no extra cost. Ricky did high quality work and he's honest. I highly recommend JEG plumbing. read more

My son lives in Round Rock and he was having an issue with excess water flow from his toilet tank. I called 2 different plumbing companies for an estimate. One plumber wanted to replace the whole tank and the other was charging way too much! Watch out Austin, Round Rock, and surrounding areas ...some plumbing companies want to rip you off! Ricky came to the house promptly and he told us it was a very menial problem. He fixed it in 5 minutes! He was honest, friendly, and took care of the problem. We had an A/C issue and he could have left to his next call. He checked the filter and went outside to see what the problem might be! He was patient in explaining what kind of company to look for and what to ask the repairman when he came. Ricky went way beyond our expectations! If you need a plumber who is friendly, honest, explains the problem, shows you the parts that need repairing, and goes that extra step for you...call this company. You will be glad you did! Thanks, Ricky! We are so glad we finally found someone we can trust! read more

Honest and professional plumber with excellent communications skills! He educated us on what parts of the drainage system is owned by the city and gave some really honest advice on how we can save money on the overall job by having the city come out and do it for free rather than him charge us for it! Ricky showed up to the appointment on time and even remembered to send me the invoice over email since I'm remotely managing my properties from out of state. Highly recommended, we'll be going back to Ricky for all of our plumbing needs. read more

Ricky has done work for my company and at my home. He always responds in a timely manner. He's been great to work with.

I've worked with Ricky on both a bathroom and kitchen remodel as well as your garden variety stopped up kitchen sink. In all cases, he was great to work with - professional, knowledgable, on-time. The bathroom remodel was particularly tricky. The original plumber on the job abandoned it mid-job, but Ricky took the time to figure it out and got everything installed correctly. I highly recommend JEG Plumbing. read more

Ricky just completed a grueling install of a gas water heater in the second story attic, during peak August afternoon heat. Let me tell you, I have nothing but good things to say on his behalf. I especially appreciated how he itemized the initial bid and listed the cost of all the parts rather than just submit a single line item total (like some of the others did). He was a great communicator with frequent calls or texts to let me know the status and when to expect him. Every step of the way Ricky was professional and took time to explain the work he was doing. I will absolutely call him next time I need some plumbing help, and I suggest you do too. Ricky - thanks so much for helping to put my house back together! read more
