A friend told us about this and we got there at 10 minutes before 7 pm, closing time, and the bbq was sooo delicious. The owner was so polite and friendly. We LOVE Jeff's BBQ. We usually grab a pound of bbq (chopped brisket) for baked potato night. Always great. Tonight my son begged to get the whole spread for dinner. It was amazing. We got the family pack. Small fed 4 of us (2 adults and 2 teenage boys). I added sausage and a large mac and cheese. We also had fried okra, the creamed corn, and potato salad. I decided to try Jeff's BBQ this weekend after several reviews noted it was pretty good and simply put in a nutshell, I believe this is the best BBQ in the Lavon/ Copeville area which is why I am giving it an above average rating of 4 stars. As I walked up to the counter, I was greeted by a young, nice man (probably 10-13 years old) and he took my order. I ordered the rib plate special ($10) and also 1/2 pound of brisket ($10) so the total for the meal was $20.00. Hindsight, I wish I was asked if I wanted point or flat because I have my preference. As someone who loves to smoke their own ribs and brisket, I am very critical about BBQ because I usually only order when I don't have the time to smoke. The ribs were definitely above average (4 ribs came in the special). They had a good bite to them and plenty of meat on the bone. The membrane was left on the backside which is no issue with me as long as they are smoke properly. The brisket was actually a little dry as if it had over cooked or sitting under a heat lamp but it was still good and better than a couple other places nearby. The BBQ sauce served was slightly above average. IMO, it was a little lite on the BBQ/ smokey flavor but it was good enough to pour over the ribs and brisket. The sides I chose were the beans and the pasta salad. The BBQ beans were pretty good. They tasted as if they were made from scratch and not from a can and the pasta salad was average. Overall, Jeff's BBQ is good enough to get my business again if I am craving BBQ and don't want to travel far. read more

Hutchins can keep their customers please but I'm going to admit Jeff's Brisket and sausage is better than any of the other so called "craft bbq" places. The chopped beef sandwiches are ginormous and freaking delish. Their sausage is just as good. On chopped beef I love some sauce and that spicy bbq sauce is tangy sweet and spicy. Although a couple of days ago, I wanted to share with y'all what a wonderful experience I had (and have had) with Jeff's BBQ. We know the amazing foodie pics that have been shared. Who wouldn't want to try that out? I've been meaning for many weeks to get over there, but my schedule means I'm not up until the afternoon and I forget. My wife and I finally made plans (yes, we have to do that because she is a great cook herself), and we decided to get some chopped brisket! My mother-in-law hears I'm going over there, so she wants in on the action for her and her hubby. Okay, done deal. Of course, I'm running late, so I rush out to Nevada. (It's a really easy drive from Farmersville, especially if you drive to Rockwall, Wylie, Lavon on a regular basis. About the time of watching a commercial if you're familiar with the route.) I show up and Jeff opens the window. Even though we've never met in person, he already knew who I was! Just because of Facebook interaction. He shook my hand and we chatted a bit, then I placed my order. Now, mind you, based on what I said earlier, I'm a late riser because of my schedule, so I have just enough time to grab this, then get back to Farmersville to pick up both my kids at the Junior High. Order was placed quickly, even with the awesome conversation. While I'm waiting, another man stops by to drop off some more wood for the smoker. I'm thinking, "This guy (both of them) are serious business!" Meanwhile, we discuss the "cold corn salad" that I missed, and why he isn't able to offer it anymore, along with why ribs are only sold on the weekend. Jeff wraps everything up (even with a no-charge extra dose of BBQ sauce because I was ordering for two families) and I'm out of there faster than a premium BBQ place should. Picked up the kids just in time. Do y'all realize how hard it is to drive when the amazing smells of brisket, BBQ beans and tater salad are wafting all around the inside of your truck while rushing back to pick up kids from school?! It weren't easy, let me tell you. I wanted to pull over and scarf that stuff down. Short story long, the food is A. Maze. Ing. And it's not just the food (well, really, it is...) but it's also the fact that Jeff knew who I was just because he pays attention to what's going on. He even asked me later that day (via Facebook) how the food was, and I told him it was stupid amazing and that I was more stuffed than one of his taters. Speakin' of, I'm going to hit one of those Texas Taters next time I'm there. Y'all have seen all kinds of amazing foodie pics from Jeff, but I want y'all to see what the premises actually looks like. Tried Jeff's BBQ for first time today, and ordered the Tater Tuesday Special, "all-in" as recommended, and I was in for a treat! The box was filled side to side, corner to corner with a large, moist potato, smothered in tender-juicy-smoky beef, BBQ sauce, cheese, and a dollop of sour cream. It was visually appealing as well as delicious! My first bite definitely met the expectations my eyes had set for my mouth! I've had a few BBQ stuffed potatoes, but this one had those all beat, hands down, and at $7, you would be hard pressed to find a better deal, much less a better meal! For another $2, you get a drink and a side! Jeff's BBQ is in the country a piece, about 10 miles north of the Wiley Walmart at the intersection of 78 and CR543. This place is awesome. Jeff is a great guy and during the summer you will see his kids working right alongside him. He puts out high-quality Meats and Caterers all over town. He is my personal favorite lunch spot in the area. His hours can be a bit here and there with Texas weather and catering events but as long as you check out his Facebook page before you head over you'll know whether or not he's open. Everything is great. The breakfast items can be made to order or PU premade till 11. LOVE the bacon egg cheese (double bacon) quesadilla and the double bacon egg cheese biscuit. Roomi loves the breakfast tacos. Lunch and dinner items have great choices and special order brisket inside, outside, or mixed. Spicy sausage is super. This is a gem as far as the BBQ biz goes! The meat is fantastic, I am absolutely in love with the whipped tater salad n spicy pintos sides. BBQ sauce is sweet and spicy, and Jeff is super friendly and talented! Next trip is BBQ quesadilla and grilled cheese BBQ sandwich, then stuffed giant tater! Some of the best BBQ you will find. Worth driving to even if you don't live nearby. On this visit I got 2 grilled cheese sandwiches, one with regular sausage and one with chopped brisket.
