Since moving here 6 years ago, I had been going to another local dentist who had great reviews, but…read morerepeatedly brought up "issues" with my teeth with an explanation that always seemed to pressure me to do the recommended treatment or else the "issue" could get worse. I was fairly certain this wasn't really necessary since I never had these types of "issues" before with other trusted dentists (and hadn't ever even had cavities!). Just as the pandemic started, I tried switching to another dentist recommended nearby, but their equipment didn't seem adequately clean (splatters on the light above and the sunglasses they gave me--at the start of pandemic times no less, it was so gross!!!). So I super-researched dentists and was so happy to find Redmond Dental with stellar reviews and longstanding expertise. They took my insurance and also could help with my in-laws' dental needs which was such a relief too! As a patient of Dr. Tung, I really appreciate all the rigor she has placed on setting up a welcoming practice (including safety measures for COVID that have adjusted as needed and are as practical as possible for both patients and her staff). Dr. Tung is very personable, meticulous, and truly cares about making sure that you're satisfied with all aspects of your dental work, and I've experienced this with her staff as well. I've never felt unduly pressured during my regular cleanings for additional services, and when I think of how she's treated me, my husband, and my in-laws for all our dental needs, one word especially comes to mind: integrity. Thank you so much Dr. Tung and everyone at Redmond Dental!

However, they performed a periapical (diagnostic) X-ray instead of a preventive one, without informing me, and billed it. As a result, I was unexpectedly billed out-of-pocket. When I brought this up, the office manager insisted this is their standard practice, and that patients are responsible for charges insurance doesn't fully pay--even if the procedure wasn't clearly explained or authorized. They threatened to send the balance to collections. This experience reflects a serious lack of transparency and patient-centered care.

The hygienist who took care of me was very thorough, explaining all of the cleaning procedures she was doing. She addressed the concerns I had about my enamel erosion (problems of someone who grinds their teeth in their sleep + avid coffee lover...) and again, I really appreciate how thorough she was with answering this question! She even took pictures of my teeth to help me see up-close of some teeth that had wear. The doctor came in at the end of the cleaning to examine my teeth, answered some more questions I had, and I was off on my way. Originally I didn't have much expectations since, IMO, the intro offer was a great deal, but their level of care blew me away. Would highly recommend checking this dentistry out for your annual cleanings! :)
