I also told him I was anxious about the IV needle, and he put a spray on my arm so it wouldn't hurt. Before the procedure, the assistant gave me a blanket so I wouldn't be cold. I don't remember the procedure - very grateful for this! After the procedure they took me in wheel chair to the car. I recovered really fast without any pain! Can't ask for more. The care given was fine. The problem was with the front office. I will say up front I should have…read morebeen more thorough in my homework on whether they were in-network, but I relied on my dentist's recommendation. I'm used to working with providers who get pre-approval, and who bill your insurance. That is not how this office works. I needed a biopsy, which they made me pay up front and said they would submit to insurance and reimburse me when they got paid. They use a third party service and submitted the claim using paper forms. Apparently it went first my dental insurance, then to my medical. They ended up calling about 60% of the charge beyond reasonable and customary. They reimbursed 40%, which they applied to my deductible. So I expect to get no check back from the provider. This process has taken nearly five months so far. The front office has been fairly responsive, but so far all the information on progress I've had to get from my insurance company myself. It was nearly $1,000 so not pocket change. But hey, good news it wasn't cancer.

When I came in Dr. Matsumoto took a quick look at my teeth then thoroughly explained the various different options, and the pros and cons of each. (Thanks Justine for making me feel comfortable!) Then I met with the doctor and he did his evaluation. I was pleased with how thorough the evaluation was. After that was completed, the doctor and I worked together to decide the best treatment option for me. I felt comforted that he spent extra time answering all of my questions and concerns. I don't love going to the dentist, but it was a welcoming environment and I could tell they really take pride in caring for their patients. I went to see Dr.Raval many times but he was definitely trying to be vague about it and avoided admitting that it was their mistake. My general dentist saw my X-ray and referred me to a different periodontist to have it fixed. This process is taking a very long time. It is still a traumatic experience for me. I would like to get my money and time back. Also when I called the emergency number when something came off from my implant, he asked me to take a picture of it and send to me. I did. After dealing with a really bad tooth my whole pregnancy Dr. Wellborn was able to squeeze me in last minute to get my tooth assessed. He could see how much pain this was causing me and immediately started repairing my tooth. He was so kind and non-judgmental of the fact that it had been years since I'd had any dental work done and made an effort to keep me as relaxed as possible. Dr. Wellborn is so casual and has such a great sense of humor about everything. I never fear walking into his office and love all the kind people that welcome you in. Everyone is always willing to help me out with my baby in the office and never has said anything negative about having him with me at all my appointments. She pressures you to unnecessary procedures and is engaged in borderline insurance fraud because her wealth after moving to the US is not piling up as fast as she would like. Example: She scheduled me to have seven fillings for the seven cavities that I had. I've never had cavities. I switch to a new dentist and surprise, zero cavities. It is common for you to just sit in the chair for long periods of time waiting for her to come by and try to sell you care that isn't necessary. When you talk to her, you swear that you are talking to a used car salesman. Staff is still awesome, but everything else is horrible!

The office is located in a business park on the stretch of 148th Ave heading south. Office hours are a bit limited as they are only open from Monday through Thursday during regular work hours. So you will need to go elsewhere if you are looking for a dentist office that stays open late or has weekend hours. The office does open at 8 am so it might work for someone coming in before they start work that day. As it was my first time, I had to do dental X-rays. The number they do is quite extensive and way more than I have done elsewhere. With so many X-rays taken, it gives them a better view of the health of your teeth and gums. I thought the dental equipment that they have here was the most modern that I have encountered of the dentist offices I have visited which I appreciate. The cleaning that I got here was thorough and my teeth feel much more healthy afterwards. Most of my visit was spent with one of the dental hygienists who took my X-rays and did the cleaning. Dr. Jung came in at the end to introduce himself and check my teeth. I found the staff to be friendly and not (too) judgmental about me not having had a teeth cleaning for a while. Though I was fearing visiting the dentist chair again, the staff here really made me comfortable and did a great job with the dental X-rays and cleaning. Went back to fix crown not matching correctly 1 week later but no warranty on their work by charging you for fix up fee.
