Most professional, caring and skilled dentistry one could hope for. Dr Yoon-MacInnes is second to none. First, I called requesting the soonest possible appointment due to what I thought was a tooth ache due to a cavity, and they got me in same day. Dr Yoon-Macinnes diagnosed the issue quickly and expertly as requiring a root canal... and then she PERSONALLY called me after hours (!) when I had responded by messaging that the tooth pain had returned. She arranged for me to come in next day although I had been scheduled with her at the soonest available appt 5 days out. She scrapped all that and gave up her noon lunch period in order to see me next day! Wow. Who does this anymore? Then she PERSONALLY texted again to make sure I was doing ok after hours the second day.... and in response to all my gratitude she just humbly says "I'm just doing my job". Dr Yoon -Macinnes' expertise combined with her compassion, care and above/beyond commitment to patients altogether make it very clear that, for Dr Yoon-Macinnes, her work is far more than just a job, it's a vocation.... and I'm so grateful. read more

Horrible horrible dentist, visits took an hour and a half, he gave me an unnecessary filling that needed to be fixed later. But the WORST was getting my wisdom teeth out in 2017. I was in clinic with only a curtain between me and the next patient and only under light sedation. It took them over 4 hours when they said 1-2, so my numbing wore off near the end and I was screaming and crying in pain for the whole office to hear. I never went back. So if you want long, unnecessary, painful dental procedures go here. My current dentist visits take 30 mins including x-rays and are painless. read more

Absolute BEST dentist I have ever had!!! After having my last baby, my teeth were in bad shape. :( I had to have a crown and like 5 fillings. I was completely scared and had a very hard time getting numb. As a doctor, time is money! He didn't mind taking more time and medication getting me completely comfortable . He didn't make me feel like a bother at all! An added bonus.... he's funny and super nice, down to earth!! I drive an hour one way to go to him and I will continue to! I first came to Dr. MacInnes after a long hiatus of dental work while I was pregant and then nursing. Eww, my horrible soda habit had taken its toll and I had a ton of cavities. I was quite shocked by the sticker price. I had also met many a bad dentist in the past, including one that insisted that my wisdom teeth were my molars, even though I clearly remember having the molars pulled and the wisdom teeth grew in after... So anyway, I definitely felt that I needed a second opinion before spending that amount of money on work. The second opinion confirmed everything, except for some small soft spots that Dr. MacInnes had picked up. I think his prices may be a little more expensive than others, but it's worth getting important stuff done right by someone with a steady, strong, and gentle hand. Think about it, those nerves are right up there in your face and any residual pain or a botched job will really impact your quality of life. I have never been offered additional cosmetic services, as I am not particularly interested in them, and Dr. MacInnes respects that. I am embarrassed to say that I have been a frequent visitor ever since the first revelations, and most of the office staff knows me by sight. I have since moved from Sammamish to Bellevue, and I am still driving the 30 minutes back to see Dr. MacInnes, because he has been doing a great job. read more

I wasn't raised with dental exams every six months, so I had a ton of anxiety about going to the dentist. Dr. Michael A. MacInnes & his entire team have been exceptional with every one of my appointments. From the moment you walk in to the office you are greeted with a friendly front desk staff with professionalism, experience & kindness. The waiting area is clean & welcoming. Amanda the dental hygienist is calm, knowledgeable & caring. Dr. Michael A. MacInnes took the time to explain all of the work that my teeth needed. He was sincere, professional, compassionate, gentle, and genuine. I couldn't be happier with his phenomenal bedside manner. When I came back in for my follow up appointments his dental assistant Ellie was so soothing with all my anxiety & excellent at ensuring that I was completely taken care of from the moment I sat in the chair, to the moment I got up to leave. I have been going to Dr. MacInnes for 5 years and have found them to always be friendly and professional. He always remembers something about my activities and asks when he sees me. When I've needed a filling he has discussed my options and answered my questions. They are happy to talk about insurance questions at the front desk when I've asked. They referred me to an oral surgeon when Dr.MacInnes thought I needed a second opinion regarding a spot in my jawbone that showed up in the x-rays. The dental hygienists are usually good, although there have been a few less experienced ones who have shared the cleaning duties. I figure that's part of training though. read more

I have been seeing Dr. MacInnes since I was a kid, and I cannot give enough praise in just a review but him and his staff are exceptional! I am terrified of going to the dentist, for multiple reasons, it's uncomfortable and it's expensive! When I got in a car accident and broke my front teeth he came in late at night and made it possible for me to feel comfortable going to school the next day, i had prom coming up in a week and his staff worked very hard to get my teeth fixed before then. The kind of care that this doctor and his staff show for his patients is incredible. I have never met any other doctor or dentist with his level of care for patients. I refer everybody I know to his practice. They are always willing to work with schedules and they make it such a comfortable experience! I would also like to give a shout out to Ellie (I think that's how her name is spelled) she does a little bit of everything there and she has always gone out of her way to make me feel comfortable when getting any dental procedure done. When I started paying my own dental bills I would stress so hard about the amount because I do not have good teeth, always need a lot done, and I'm a college student. They work with you on payment options and are always so so so nice. I am so lucky to have found a dentist like Dr. MacInnes and his staff. I will forever be a patient of theirs! Since my last review the office has turned around. Thank god he fired that old office manager. I also received a reply from Dr Macinnes apologizing. I wish he would have seen the review a year ago but he got the message after several complaints. Ellie-the new office manager is very sweet and competent and happily spends the time needed to explain things to you so they make sense which is greatly appreciated. Buyer Beware I'm Afraid.... I would agree with the prior poster - nice staff, great equipment, good view of the woods. HOWEVER, check your insurance carefully because those things cost money, and you or your insurance is going to have to pay. My experience, sadly, says they are more worried about bringing in the dollars than in matching that superlative office with superlative customer service. When you first visit, they will take your insurance details. Before you are through a check-up, they will have found your insurance details, your deductible, your "OTB" or amount available left in your annual limit. Great I thought - marvelous that they had this. It was a little strange that the expected amount of my treatement came to within 5% of my annual amount available, but I'll write-off that as a coincidence. Then they will give you a form that states that "some insurance" won't cover the amalgam type fillings that they use - this could result in several hundred dollars of additional charges. Now, MY FAULT HERE, I should have checked but didn't immediately...and I should have checked before my first follow-up and, again, didn't. So, of course, after all my work is done, in comes an additional bill for nearly $700 for the "non-covered" work. Disappointed, I tried to get some more details and politely followed up. I asked to speak with Dr. Macinnes himself to explain - no way was that going to happen - in fact, in all my appts and contacts I never saw or spoke with him (perhaps he doesn't like that comfy office of his). I asked what we could do to mitigate at least some of the charges - no luck. I asked if I could, as a customer, at least get the "discounted" rate that insurance companies would use to cover this - again, no budge. They just had no interest. So far, I guess, all my fault really and but for one final question I would have just continued on my way.... My final question was this ... how many customers do you have who use Delta Dental? Oh, quite a lot. And how many of them have had their fillings covered through you? Dead silence. But surely, since you now KNOW that they wouldn't be covered, you could provide a service to your customers and TELL them that it wouldn't be covered rather than go through this. Er, well, policies change all the time - different levels, different coverage. So, how many Delta Dental patients HAVE had it covered? I don't know. So I asked if they would consider at least telling Delta Dental patients that they knew SOME Delta Dental coverage would not apply and that they should check .... well, that is up to the patient. Whatever I asked, they would not accept that they had a responsibility to help their customers....it was all "up to the customer" to research. Now, interestingly, my daughter had an appointment scheduled with them. So we let her go there, and sure enough out trots that same coverage note about the fillings. My wife asked if they knew or could find out whether Delta Dental covered it - I am afraid we don't know at all. What about other Delta Dental customers? Oh, I am afraid we can't disclose..... As you can imagine, none of us will be returning. Great office, great equipment, but the interest and support of the customers TRUMPS all that in a well-run business, and hence my rating, sadly, is BUYER BEWARE and, therefore Eek! Methinks Not! Great dentist if you hate money and want to give it away. I was pulled in and comforted by the very friendly staff and their "high-class" amenities. The work I had done turned out extremely well (and it was a lot of work). Dr. MacInnes is a great dentist and he and Elly did amazing work and made me feel very comfortable throughout. The problem came when I received my first bill. In the end, I had to pay around $8000 out-of-pocket for work that was scoped for $3000 out-of-pocket. I'm not rich by any means, so after 2 years I was still paying it off when I got a very unfriendly call from their new office manager about being sent to collections (after not receiving a bill for 4 months). She had no idea about my situation and didn't care to. I explained the situation and that I had to move some money around before I could clear my balance. She appeared to be understanding at this point so I gave her my credit details and that she could run my balance the next week when my credit card was cleared. Instead of calling me the following week to tell me it hadn't cleared, she sent it to collections. The credit card I have is a "care credit" card that allows me interest free credit on dental bills, but now because it's in collections, I am unable to use it and I will be paying interest on the remainder of my balance. Awesome. Going to this dentist was the most expensive mistake I've ever made so warning goes out to anyone considering having work done here that can't afford to throw away money. read more

Today I got my tooth cleaning from a hygienist, Crystal Shanaman, at Dr. Maclnnes office. Crystal was very patient to answer my questions and she also gave me several good suggestions about my oral hygiene. Her work on my teeth was gentle and made me feeling good. I felt like experiencing more than just a teeth cleaning. She made me feeling a hope to keep my teeth and gum healthier!! read more

Patient be warned!! This Dentist & Staff are not honest. I picked this office to have a closer to home option. I was due for a cleaning, and after xrays, and a perio exam, The dentist would NOT clean my teeth!! He said he 'recommended' a deep cleaning of gums and teeth. Hummm....16 years at my most awesome dentist, and this guys says what? I said i would think about it, and asked that he please clean my teeth as scheduled. He would not!~ Said ADA would not approve!? I smelled a rat!! I have perfect teeth and gum history, I knew this was a attempt at my and my insurace expense to gain finacially! After call the ADA - American Dental Association, as well as the state board, they BOTH said to file a claim!! A recommendation is just that! Dr. Macinnes had NO right to do what he did...NOTHING! The staff has been brainwashed to thing that the ADA really made these decisions!! ALL LIES!! Very unethical practice. Very disappointing !! Wondered how many others have been lied to so HE can gain financially! I have heard of these stories, but this is the first time a scam was attempted on me! WRONG patient to lie to!! I moved myself and kids back to our wonderful trusted dentist that is 30 minutes away! Proximity not worth it !! You have to TRUST your Doctors.....DO NOT TRUST THIS ONE! I promptly returned to my dentist, they said NO WAY did my beautiful teeth require the agressive treatment he had claimed. Next step, a claim filed at ADA and with Washington State board. read more

AWFUL Experience! The dentist himself and the staff are super nice, the office is clean, and I have no complaint about the dental work itself. However, only go here if you enjoy being lied to about your coverage and want to pay 1000's of $$$s!! I went here last year for a cleaning and loved it - at first. I shared my insurance information with the front desk, business as usual at a doctors office. She assured me they worked with my insurance company "no worries, you are covered" she said. I never got a "bill" so had no reason to doubt her. I went back about 3 times, for a cap on a tooth and a couple of cavities. I paid my co-pay at the last appointment, around $750 which was steep but semi-expected. About 3 months later, I got a bill for upwards of 3000k - immediately called the office in shock and was assured AGAIN, not to worry...it was because they were still filing the claim and to disregard the bill. After this, their office went through a staff change and SIX months later I got the same bill. This time, a totally different story was shared and that was basically that I did need to pay this ridiculous amount of money because they did not in fact work with the insurance I had at the time. I didn't even know what to think, called multiple times to try and work something out given the insanity of the lies and experience I had. I never would have gotten the work done after the cleaning if I knew they didn't accept my plan. They wouldn't meet me half way, they wouldn't waive the finance charges even though I didn't get a bill for 6 months, they told me atleast 10 times they would talk to the doctor and call me back (never got a call, I called them over a period of a month or 2) Finally, I just paid the amount but I tell you what - this is a RIP OFF! Don't trust them. Awful business practice, I filed an Attorneys General complaint on them as well for flat out lying to their customers and not making any effort to take responsibility for that - malpractice !!! read more

I was scheduled to do two teeth filling. When Dr. Maclnnes was in the procedure of the first tooth, he walked away without any explanation. I was sitting there with half done tooth around 20 minutes. During the waiting time, his staff came in and explained that he was doing an examination with another patient. WHAT AN UNPROFESSIONAL WAY! I will look for other dentist for sure. read more

I will not be going back to this place. I recently went here to get my usual cleaning and x rays for the year. I took time off work for this appointment. After my x-rays and a quick check I was told that because four of my teeth registered a 4 that they would have to do a deep cleaning. I was a bit surprised by this since I had just been to the dentist only 6 months prior to this visit. They also informed me that since they had to use a slightly long tool they would have to charge me more money. Insurance apparently doesn't cover it. They added that because of the length of time it takes to do a deep cleaning and the possible use of numbing medication that it would take two additional visits, excluding my first one, to complete each side! I, of course, said I was expecting a cleaning and I do not have time to come to the dentist two additional times and I don't want to pay for that either. They agreed to clean half my mouth at that appointment. I felt tremendous pressure to get the procedure done. They had someone come in and sit down showing me the costs. I should have walked out of there. I reluctantly agreed since they had already taken a full set of x-rays and I wasn't sure I'd be able to get that money back from my insurance so I could start over somewhere else. They cleaned half my mouth if less than 5 minutes but she pretended to do more for another 10 minutes. I'm no stranger to teeth cleaning. I had a friend who was a hygienist. I left and came back a month later to get the other half done which felt like a typical cleaning, paid 150.00 and left. Then two month later I get another bill for 100 dollars. I called them letting them know how ridiculous this was. In all I paid nearly $300.00 for what was supposed to be a FREE regular cleaning. What was even crazier is they tried to schedule my next cleaning within the next 3 months! I have never heard of that. My insurance covers one major visit and a 6 month cleaning. That is how it has always been. In all my 40 years I've only had 3 cavities and I take very good care of my teeth, if that says anything. My husband who also had a deep cleaning at a different dentist only paid 53.00 for fluoride. That's where I'll be going from now on. I'll say the staff was nice but their practices are questionable. read more

It was my first visit. He said that I needed a deep cleaning, which is expensive and his staff said I couldn't come back for an appointment if I didn't take a deep cleaning, versus the standard one. I went back to my old dentist, she said there was no indication for the expensive and painful procedure. She was called in for her procedure, while I awaited outside, when I heard the lady by the name of Ellie yell and get agitated with the dental assistant. Most people fear Dental clinics, and seeing Ellie behave, they would dread going into the office. The lady needs to calm down.
