We stopped here for lunch on a Tuesday around 1PM. The places was pretty full! They have about 4 small booths, 6 or so tables, and a bar that seats about 8. We found a place at the bar. The establishment is small but comfortable and clean! The Prices are great. We had 2 meals for $20. We had the Yuengling beer battered fish with homemade green beans(with butter on them) ,homemade mashed potato's, brown gravy, and home made chunky apple sauce! Delicious! And the tuna melt sandwich was delicious but the best part were the seasoned French fries. It was awesome to have actual home made food! You could tell it hadn't been frozen, thawed out, warmed and served to us. And they still kept the prices affordable! We will definitely go back! The service and wait staff is not the warmest and friendliest...but they get the job done and kept our glasses full while we chowed down! read more

Service was not good. Arrived at 19:15 for breakfast. It finally arrived at our table 38 minutes later. I took two bites of my omelet, went to take the third and discovered a very long black hair coming out of the center of it. Waitress never came back to check on refills for coffee. Just a very bad experience. I'm under the impression it has more locals than tourists. I rely on reviews, this is why we selected this establishment. read more

Very welcoming and friendly server. The food was great. I had the reuben with hand-cut fries, my husband had the Wimpy burger and chips. Both meals were great. Very much a small town diner feel and layed back. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely stop for a meal. read more

It's still 1950, and the Jefferson Diner, a quonset hut relic from that era, hasn't changed a bit since then. On the wood paneled dining room walls are photos of 4-H champions, local sports stars, teenagers and their muscle cars, spanning the last half century. During my most recent visit, I opted for the lunch special, a grilled cheese sandwich with homemade sourdough bread, and homemade Italian wedding soup. If was the best lunch I've had in a long time! Went for dinner tonight, we are camping a little down the road. I had the Diner burger with fries and hubby had the hot turkey sandwich with fries. My burger was excellent and on homemade bread. Hubby said his sandwich was very good also. We both loved the old style home made fries!! He also had a piece of pineapple upside down pie that he really enjoyed. Service was superb! Stopped in for lunch today and it was fantastic. The place was nearly empty and had our choice of booths or the bar. Chose a booth and was promptly served. Drinks came within minutes, food within ten or fifteen. I had the Rodeo burger and the gf had the Tuna Melt. The burger was tasty. Real beef, bacon, cheese and several onion rings. The tuna was on rye and, according to the gf, one of the best she ever had. Will probably go back again for the one pound burger and maybe one of those incredible looking cinnamon buns. read more

Stopped in to this throw back to the 50's diner and once again I was totally impressed. I was in the mood for pancakes and ordered a short stack. I was served two of the best pancakes I have ever had, and I'm 63! I've eaten lots of pancakes. They were perfectly golden brown, rich and thick, but not the least bit heavy. Service was spot on and appreciative when I told them how good they were. Don't pass this classic gem in Jefferson Ohio. read more

Only been here once, heck only been to Jefferson once, but I'm going to give it all 5 stars. I had the meatloaf sandwich with onions on homemade bread w/ a side of fresh cut fries (for real fresh cut) and a mountain dew. Delicious. My guest had the Italian Sausage with bacon sandwich. Loved it. If you watch Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives, this is what I expect out of a diner. Will be going back. Downside: they don't take plastic so it made the expense account lunch a lil more difficult. read more

What a nice find. Want home made meal? This is the place. Small diner, a lot of locals were there. One can tell because the wait staff knew them by name. The diner was very clean and the staff were very friendly and made you feel right at home. Most prices ranged from $5 to $10. Very inexpensive. Wife had the fried chicken meal. It was really tender and very flavorful. Thigh, leg and breast portions. Mashed potatoes were real and home made. I had the meatloaf. I really love meatloaf. This meatloaf tasted a little off. I'm not sure what it was. It didn't have a lot of filler, maybe it was the brown gravy. I don't think I'd order it again. We will go back again. read more

We had to go to the DMV & then walked over to pizza Joe's for lunch. Just as we were walking in, my husband got a phone call.. so, we stayed out on the sidewalk while he talked. I began walking down the sidewalk & peeking in the shops. Then I saw the diner and peeked inside. There were no available seats.. the place was slamming. There had been zero customers in the pizza joes. The locals would know where the good food is, so we decided to trust them & eat here! When you think of a diner this is what you think of. I have to go out to Jefferson once or twice a month. It is an older building with bathroom facilities could use some updating but have always been in order and clean. Some of the nicest people servers, cooks, and honestly clientele. Large menu with all the dinner classics you would want, but happy to do substitutions. Downtown Jefferson doesn't have a lot of options but you don't need anything else. I have tried other " family " restaurants in Downtown Jefferson. But why go anywhere else is you want, kind people, reliable and classic foods, at prices that you cannot complain about. Great people, great classic dishes, and great prices. Have eaten there several times a year for the last few years. I will not stray again. read more

Food is good and great prices only one problem. Some of the waitresses are rude. We've been there a few times and not one time did they say more than "What would you like" trying to get a refil on your drink is almost impossible. That is if you can get your Waiters attention from gabbing with other customers their not even serving. This was my first time going to the diner. I was quickly given a drink and told that someone would be right with me.....well....two young waitresses passed me by cleaning tables and picking up their tips then went behind the counter and were talking the entire time!!! And as I waited to see if they were going to come over I had to listen to 6 older men at the counter talking rudely and joking about their wives and the young waitresses (who were clueless that they were the butt of the jokes!). We stop at this diner every year on our way to Geneva on the Lake and we have never been disappointed. Their burgers and fries are the best, but the hot roast beef sandwiches and fries with gravy are excellent. Sa room for pie, as their homemade are the very best! Still in shock! The cook came out of the kitchen combative/confrontational because we sent our corned beef sandwiches back to have them warmed up for our dinner.
