This little local business is the best! Handed over an ID, they provided a basket and a lock, and gave a grace period for the rental.. Really sweet man, the owner. I read a review of smeone claiming racism. So far from being true. When you leave only an ID, the owner had every right to question how far you are taking his equipment! If you left an open credit card, perhaps he would not have to absorb the loss or damage if it ensued. Wonderful, hassle free bike rental. read more

Jeffers Beach Rentals, was the worst experience I have had in my life! I'm not one to write reviews but I felt me and my family where treated so rudely and unfairly! This so called business owner was so insulting not to only my husband but my whole family with his RACIST , racial profiling attitude and customer service! The owner was super negative of the bat when my husband approached him to ask if he had any umbrellas for sale. The owner (white older man) or who ever was opening the business was questioning my husband instead of doing his job and being helpful . No !! instead he proceeded to question my husband "Why do you need the umbrella?, Your bringing it back right? (As if where there to steal his umbrella as a family!), Why because we are a minority family! My husband politely still replied to this man even after being treated as a criminal or some type of vagabond just because of the color of his skin! He proceeded to tell him "We are going down to Redondo Beach to spend the day." and if that questioning is not bad enough to make us feel uncomfortable for just trying to do normal family things such as a nice day out at the beach, he tells my husband "Well isn't there other rental places closer to Redondo Beach?" I am so disgusted at how people can be this way and try and treat other like they are better than just because they are still stuck in pure racism. The fact that our daughter had to witness this as well not only saddens me but angers me. Please is you are a minority do not support this RACIST business!! Stay away unless you want to be discriminated against just because of the color of your skin!! People like this man need to exposed or else they will continue to treat minorities that way and we will just stay quiet and take it ! This place was amongst our best experiences of our stay at Hermosa Beach. The proprietor doesn't need a smile on his face to know he loves what he does. Cheapest bike rentals around (and a lot if brand new bikes), stock up on "competitively priced" water. Not a lot of shops like this anymore, still has an old school Cali beach feel. Had a really good experience with this little rental shop. I went in almost an hour before closing and the owner was nice enough to extend his closing time so I can have a whole hour on the bike. The bike I rented is in really good shape and well worth the money. read more

I wine to Jeffers this last weekend to rent a bike and it was such a great experience. The owner was kind and courteous and got me on a bike in no time. Really nice people, the bikes were in good shape, we forgot out ID and they were nice enough to let us take the bikes with only our bank card. The bike ride is really really nice, we rode all the South Bay, and when you drop the bikes back don't forget to stop at the brewery only one block away for a couple cold ones, totally recommended!! The gentleman that sits out front of this place is the nastiest person. He has an old sign that has different pricing, so I asked him about it. He told me to go around the corner and get a more expensive one. So he lost my business with his mouth. read more

I rent bikes from Jeffer every summer and ride down the strand with my friends. He is neither "pretentious" or "cocky." I have never been rudely treated like the other two reviews wrote and his rates are totally reasonable $7/hr. I hate the crowds and slim pickins at the other bike stands around. read more

Worst experience ever, walked in with my son on Father's Day to rent two surfboards & wetsuits, no one was around so we called out for assistance, a minute later an older guy came out. Right from the get go he was rude to my son, then snapped at me, even dropped an F-Bomb in front of my kid, all this because he wasn't happy with how I handled the surfboard I was about to rent from his store. This old guy is very rude and crazy in my opinion, stay away unless you enjoy being treated like crap from the establishments you do business with. read more

Whatever you do, don't go here. The staff is rude, pretentious and cocky. If you aren't from the area, they'll treat you badly. There are other rental stores nearby that charge around the same amount, so you may as well save yourself the trouble and not bother with this place. read more
