I came to rent a surfing wetsuit for my girlfriend and the guy was very friendly and helpful. The wetsuit was good quality and in good condition and it was only 15 bucks (not including tax) for a full 24 hours. The store itself was also pretty cool, they actually have several buildings. One building is the store that is like a surf/dive shop with apparel, accessories, etc. The other building is where you rent your wetsuits (along with apparel sale items) and surfboards, and there's another building with pipes and things for the diving tanks. I think there was another building too where you can sign up for dive tours, but we didn't go in there. Great local friendly place. I guess I can't speak to the dive equipment, but if you need a place to rent a surf wetsuit this is the spot. read more

Hey Folks, I just want to say that I can't recommend the dive shop and staff at Redondo Dive and Surf highly enough. In fact, I'd say that they've been the best dive shop/service, no hang on, scratch that, best service full stop, I've had in decades. They know their stuff, they are all about being helpful and a pleasure to deal with. My 12yo son just did his certification with them. We purchased all of his gear, including a prescription mask in one easy visit. Scott, the dive master, was outstanding during the lessons and made my son feel, confident in the water at every stage. Don't go anywhere else for all of your dive needs. These guys are the business! read more

Rented diving equipment for four people. Their crew was confused and constantly kept asking for the gear back to check numbers before we were able to check out. Two tanks O-rings blew before even hitting the water. The wetsuit they rented me was not for diving but 2.5 mil made for supping or something. At least my one friend who only rented lead weight got the right gear. Thought better of these guys before this experience. read more

Kinda the must-go-to shop when in Redondo for your water sports. I'm a diver so I always run by after a dive to fill the tanks. While the tanks are topping off, I walk across the street to their large retail shop and peruse stuff I don't need, but usually end up finding something that talks me into buying it. Also, their annual sidewalk has some really great deals, including air cards. That's a great time to stock up that sport supply closest with duplicates or upgrades. read more

This review is for dive instructor Cory! I took the open water course over the weekend, having always wanted to try scuba. I took the online portion and I was pretty nervous that I wasn't going to be able to do it, that I would get DCS etc. etc. Enter Cory, who made the in person learning fun, understandable, and safe. Each dive I felt comfortable performing the skills because of something Cory had taught me either in the pool or in his informative dive briefings. Dive master Will was also a huge help. This shop offers so many great options for surfing, diving and now Tandem Boogie. We send all our friends and family that come to visit to this shop so they can get the gear they need for a fun day at the ocean! The inflatable Tandem Boogie is so convenient to transport to the beach. We just carry it in the travel bag along with our towel, umbrella and chair. Then we pump it up in about 90 seconds and we play on the water all day long! We like the Tandem Boogie so much, we may buy one for us to take back home too! read more

Best place to go if you're scuba diver. I can't speak for the "surf" part, because I'm not a surfer, but it looks pretty dang good for that too! Newly remodeled. It really nice. Tons of parking now. They did a great job with the remodel. There are two sections and they are across the street from each other. One is the main store and the other is where you get your scuba tanks filled and rent wetsuits, etc. I wish they had the entire scuba department right next to where you get your tanks filled, etc. It would seem to make more sense. The way it is now, you must walk across the street...and the scuba department is in the very back corner of the store. It couldn't be any further away. Maybe they have a reason for this, as in a possible impulse buy on your long walk to the scuba dept. They do have a lot of nice stuff in there. That's for sure! I went to get my lobster report card while I was getting my tanks inspected across the street. The store was pretty much empty. I was told I needed to go to the scuba department to get the card. Long story short, the guy barely started the process, looked at his phone and said he'd be right back. After five minutes, he wasn't back. I went looking and saw him leaving the store. I asked another employee to help me and she couldn't have been nicer, friendlier or more helpful. Kudos to her. Didn't catch her name, but she looks a bit like a taller, healthier version of Britney Spears. I mean that as a compliment. OK, back across the street to get my tanks. In the scuba repair department where you get your tanks filled, you'll meet Jocko (sp). The man is legendary. He really knows his stuff. He sounds a bit gruff, but he's a great guy and he always means well. If you are having any problems with your gear, or want to make sure it's all up to snuff, he's 'da man to check it out. He's given me some invaluable tips on how to care for my gear, etc. If you're a diver, I hope you get a chance to meet him. They have plenty of hookups to fill your tanks, and you get a great fill. They fill them underwater, so the tanks don't overheat. The "filling station" is close to the parking lot, so you only have a short walk to your car. A big plus. Also, they have a program where you buy a punch card for 10 (I think) tank fills for a very reasonable price. Be sure and ask about it. It's a killer deal. PS: I hope the guy who was originally helping me eventually found his way back to the scuba department! read more

I have to say that Chris, one of the main Managers over there, is a very kind soul and responds well with a sense of urgency to help my charity! This is very rare in this world, but I only had to email him once to get donated gift items for the raffle prizes for my upcoming charity event. He gave to us immediately last October 2018 AND another set of gifts in January of 2019 for our event this July 21, 2019! So not only is Dive 'N Surf one of the best shops to get surf stuff, water wear, and the like, Chris and his staff motivate us to come there more regularly with their consistency, loyalty, & professionalism. Definitely go to Dive 'N Surf! They gave multiple locations. On another note so fortunate: A place to avoid % in the surf/swim industry is ''spyder surfboards'- the owner there is the complete opposite, has got some significant narcissistic traits you don't want to deal with, lies to you and breaks your trust, and strings you along for more than 9 months and then reneges on his original Committment with you. Do NOT give Spyder ANY of your business. Several other places like Dive 'N Surf and others like Becker, etc are much more worth it to give your valuable time, money and attention to! read more

Great selection. In my neighborhood. Very friendly greeter at the front door. Ridiculously bad customer service from that point forward. Came in to purchase a fishing license. Was sent into the back section of the store where they have dive equipment, spear fishing equipment, etc. There is a a gentleman sitting behind a monitor on the phone who acknowledges me after I stood there for a moment at the counter and he motions at me (I foolishly assumed it meant I'll be with you in a moment.) I moved back from the counter only to hear him continue in conversation with a vendor for about another 10 minutes about how he was aggressively getting back into the business. He had come from another bike shop. Went on to talk about how he would like to be set up with a number of the vendors models for some promo out front and about a boat that his company had and on and on. I don't know if he is in a position to actually be negotiating those things or not but having been a director of sales at various automobile dealerships, customers are always more important than vendors. Vendors will reschedule, come back, call back and chase you down for your. Last time I checked vendors don't pay the bills. Probably waited around longer than I should have. One thing I do know is when "Customers" are treated like this don't come back. Needles to say I won't be back.Took my business to Dick's sporting goods instead. I don't dive n' I don't surf. But I did hear that the good people at Dive N' Surf are taking non-perishable donations for fire victims up to Malibu in boats (one boat was leaving this morning, more to follow). The stuff will be given to anyone who needs it. Of course all roads into & around the area are closed & there's no power....so I was thinking: people can't go to the grocery store to get food. Many are stuck on Zuma Beach with their animals because no where else to go. So I cleared out my pantry & dropped off what I would need most if I were stranded in Paradise Cove: cat food! In addition to a million cans of Fancy Feast & pouches of Applaws I also donated paper plates, plastic utensils, canned people food & more. I do realize that normally cash donations are by far preferential to food, etc., but in this case there's a unique opportunity to get supplies directly to those in immediate need, so I'm on (surf) board. While I was there I checked out the store. Can't believe I haven't been in this place sooner because I live right up the street. I didn't know the BIG place is packed full of high-quality clothes I can wear, not just dive & surf equipment. I left with 2 hoodies (Billabong & Roxy), stretchy pants, and a tee. I resisted caps, sunglasses, socks & shoes...this time. They sell the cutest, coolest, kiddie clothes & swimsuits, FYI. Great place to do Holiday shopping. Employees are super-helpful & friendly. Park in the free lots all around the beautiful store. My heart goes out to neighbors up the coast - it's really bad up there, I was told today. Remember to support local businesses because obviously they will be there when you need them. As will our incredibly brave & dedicated firefighters. My pantry is now empty but my closet is full. I've been looking for a specific board for a few months and couldn't find a single one in North America. I eventually emailed Chris to see if they had the board I was looking for. Chris responded in less than an hour and could find me the board in two weeks. Literally 24 hours later Chris found AND had the board in his shop. Chris and his team were super helpful setting everything up and even followed up with an email after we bought the board. Absolutely incredible customer experience! First off - This place rocks! Probably THE best dive shop that I've been in. They've got a large selection of dive equipment, and knowledgeable staff to help. The Dive shop manager, and dive instructor (Tony?, and Colleen) were extremely helpful to me. I recently completed an AOW class through them, and they were extremely forthcoming with what I would need. They helped me pick out the best options (for myself), and gave me advice on what would work best. The dive instructor that I had my class with was Colleen. Based on my previous experience with other dive shops, and instructors, I found her to be awesome. She has a successful approach to her instructional classes that incorporates a surprising amount of knowledge coupled with a fun positive attitude. She was extremely helpful in understanding concepts that I didn't have the best grasp on, and really encouraging. If you're looking for a dive (or, surf) shop then look no more (especially in the SouthBay). Additionally, ask for Colleen... You won't find a better dive coach! read more

I got my open water dive cert through Dive N' Surf and had a great experience. The fact they have a pool in the shop for the class is so convenient. More importantly though, my dive instructor Colleen was a class act. She was extremely patient with everyone in the class, catered her teaching style to each student, and was a blast to work with. Colleen was awesome!! The only reason this review is 4 out of 5 is because the dive rescheduling process wasn't good. I called the shop to reschedule and was frequently left waiting over a week for return calls that I never received. That being said, Colleen again saved the day working with me directly to get this rescheduled. Overall, very good experience and would recommend for anyone getting their open water cert! Miss the old shop, it's character was with fun-filled dive & surf stories. Today when I went to the yard sale it was easy parking, friendly, helpful and curious teenagers working there, and a brand-new feel. The yard sale prices were more like normal retail prices. I purchased a cute oversized top to wear for when I change before/after surfing, a wallet, and a couple bars of sticky bumps wax. Overall: good people and stuff. Dive & Surf has a new charm, and for me it's fine..... I think I'm spoiled and have it great in Orange County with these surf shops; Katlin and Frog House. They give to the water people smiles, real deals and a feeling of community and of course a a small token of appreciation, they GIVE you wax....keep getting STOKED! read more

It's super rad to live in the SouthBay and have the surf shops that we do. Being that Dive N Surf is closer to our home we always like to stop in and check out the newest items and talk about surf boards etc~ but the last couple times we've been there we have walked out feeling like we don't want to go back due to the staff that works there which sucks! In simple terms no one really greets you anymore~ the one question I did ask I received a super snarky response on from one of the kids who works there and then when we checked out the girl didn't smile ~ didn't say anything to us and handed my husband his receipt and walked right away from the register~ funny he and I both looked at each other like WOW!!!! You can have a great store but the staff is really what makes you wanna come back and it sucks that today may have been our last time shopping here read more
