My kids have taken surf classes with perfect day and we love it. Our instructor was Brandon, he is super kind, patient and great with kids. He helped them catch waves, he goes out there with them and sets them up for success. They had boards and wetsuits for the kids to wear if you don't have your own. The boards were in good condition and they have boogie boards as well. My youngest is just learning to boogie board so he was more comfortable with that and only going out with Brandon, which I'm totally fine with as long as he tries. My oldest was able to catch waves on his first day, Brandon really helps and gives one on one instruction. The kids were friendly and my kids had fun. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Perfect Day Surf Camp. After a few scheduling hiccups with Terrenea Resort, who we made the reservations for PDSCamp through, we got our Surf lessons in for our 10 year old Granddaughter and her friend. Nicholas is a sweetheart and so accomodating, friendly, and very good with the kids and my 78 year old husband who took a lesson as well. The staff was also immensly helpful and quick to respond to my phone call and texts. We had an issue with finding the meeting spot and got help right away once Terrenea connected our dilemma to PDSurf Camp. I cannot express enough how much fun it was and the kids were excited and even got up and standing on their boards after a few tries. Much thanks to Olo and Perfect Day for giving my grandson such a great time in the water! He was really cold for his first lesson, wrong size wetsuit, and the water was super cold. But he didn't want to give up so, with the encouragement of Olo, his instructor, he came back for day two. Olo brought TWO!! wetsuits for the little guy and he had a blast! He is underweight and not real strong, but he stayed in the water the whole time, got up on the board and even stood up, to the cheers of his family! Olo is outstanding, super patient and really wanted my grandson to succeed. I was impressed with his instruction and the fact that he stayed out in the water with the kid for 1/12 hours (58 degrees). For the last year I've gone out at Sapphire/Topaz in RB and get pushed into the waves of the day and LOVE EVERY SECOND! I can't recommend Robbie and her instructors highly enough. My daughter has participated in her surf camp three times now (in Santa Monica and Redondo) and had amazing experiences each time. She has walked away loving all of the instructors, having made new friends and going from zero surfing experience to being confident enough to go out on her surf board all by herself! What they do so well is nurture your child's enthusiasm for surfing. You can see how their excitement grows over the course of the week. They play fun games and end the week with a really encouraging "surf competition" where everyone wins an award! The day after camp ended most recently my daughter begged to go to the beach and spent 5 hrs out on the water on her board surfing! Additionally, as my daughter started to become interested in surfing I felt like I needed to take a few lessons so I could be more knowledgeable to help her and because I'd always wanted to learn myself. I started In August of 2022 with Robbie's surf mom's group and haven't looked back! I am addicted! I have been driving weekly from Santa Monica to Redondo to be a part of this group because it is THAT special! Robbie, Ryan and the other instructors are hugely helpful in taking you from a total beginner to feeling like you can surf independently at any beach. I love how they have a new challenge for me every week even if the conditions aren't great. I always walk away with a great workout, new skills and a smile on my face. It is literally the most fun I have all week. The group of moms/women is the most supportive and encouraging group ever. We cheer each other on, communicate outside of Thursday's surf sessions and many of us have even gone away on the weekend long Surf Mom retreats hosted by Perfect Day (which I highly recommend)! My boys loved it. They are 8 & 10. Wonderful Teachers. Robbie was amazing. I wish I remembered the other teachers' names, they were fantastic. I've never seen them fall and get up so many times without being discouraged. The teachers cheered them on, as well as pointed out ways to improve. Perfect day surf club has been a godsend for our family. My 11 year old daughter absolutely loves going & it has provided a much needed social/emotional outlet during Covid. The club meets 3x a week to surf and has movie nights & weekend overnight camp trips. I love seeing how the kids look up to the counselors. Robbie, Ryan, Frank & Todd are encouraging & supportive with the kids & somehow seem to have endless energy! My daughter has nothing but good things to say. This past Saturday, she slept in but rushed to get ready to surf with the club. I thought for sure she wouldn't go but she insisted & had a great time. My kids had so much fun each day boogie boarding, learning to surf, playing games on the sand. We've tried soccer and science camps before and both kids ranked this at the top. One is six and the other is seven. They are mediocre swimmers in the pool so I was a little concerned but it wasn't a problem for them and the low ratio plus lifeguard were a comfort. The instructors were so patient with my kids and they came home each day happy and tired, chatting about the games they played and the waves they caught. read more

My review is on private lesson - 60 $/person. 1,5 hours. 30 mins instruction on the sand + 1 hour class. I had a group of 13 kids, ages 9-15. We had three instructors - Eddie, Marcio and Jake. All the kids had time to go several times with instructors. Almost everyone tried surfing for the first time and could stand on the board with the help. We enjoyed the class so much! My daughter had an amazing experience at Perfect Day Surf Camp's Junior Guard Prep Camp! We are not sure if she'll do junior guards, but she loves swimming in the ocean, so we wanted her to do it for ocean safety. She was apprehensive due to swimming in the ocean and not having any friends with her in the camp. At the end of the first day, she had a blast, and by day 3 she was begging us to sign her up for another week! The counselors made it all very fun for her - lots of games, etc. They also hired a sports psychologist to come talk to the kids about fear (in a fun way)! Tyler is a gem! This was my daughter's first year with Perfect Day Surf Camp. On day 1, she was very nervous getting in the ocean and doing the 'wave' exercises.
