Six months later I noticed more droppings and called Hi-Tech back. Their technician told me it was likely the house settling and nothing to worry about. When we opened up the window trim during a siding project, we found tons of live termites (see photo) - still within our 1-year warranty period. When I called the office, I was told the warranty only covered the "inside" of the window, not the outside. It is the same window and the same termite problem. They offered to come back out and inspect, but quoted another $900. No apology, no ownership of the fact that the original treatment hadn't worked. I didn't feel right paying again for the same issue - and for a company I couldn't trust to solve the problem. The inspectors themselves were professional and courteous. The office experience was not. I ended up hiring a different company who treated the problem thoroughly and has been excellent. I'd recommend Hi-Tech improve how they handle situations where a treatment doesn't work. A little accountability goes a long way.

The process went smoothly, and I was satisfied with the service at the time. About 11 months later, I unfortunately noticed another swarm in the same area. I contacted Hi Tech again and, to be honest, I was a little frustrated that the earliest available appointment was over a month away. However, when the day finally came, they sent Zach out to perform the treatment, and he completely changed my outlook on the situation. Zach was outstanding. He took his time, was thorough, professional, and never seemed rushed. He explained what he was doing, answered my questions, and clearly knew his stuff. On top of that, he was just a genuinely chill and pleasant guy to work with. It's rare to find technicians who combine knowledge, professionalism, and customer service as well as he does. In my opinion, Zach deserves a raise or a promotion.

They sealed many difficult to reach spots in the attic, eves, roof returns etc. and around the crawl space and around pipes, with 1/4" galvanized steel mesh (sometimes added concrete where needed). They produced before and after pictures of their work and set a bunch of traps that they will check in two weeks. I was pleased.

I contacted several attic and rodent companies before choosing Attical, and I'm very glad I went…read morewith them. What stood out most was how thorough they were. Unlike some other companies that focused only on the attic, Attical inspected the entire property, including the attic, crawlspace, garage, exterior walls, roofline, and other potential rodent entry points. They identified and sealed areas that other companies either overlooked or never mentioned. Their pricing was also very competitive. During the quoting process, some companies adjusted their pricing based on estimated labor time, crew size, or changing measurements. Attical, on the other hand, honored their proposal and focused on getting the job done properly rather than finding reasons to increase the price later. Throughout the project, they delivered exactly what they promised: insulation removal, sanitation, rodent proofing, air sealing, duct repairs, trap monitoring, and new insulation installation. The crew was professional, hardworking, and took the time to explain the process and answer questions along the way. Overall, I felt that they genuinely cared about solving the problem correctly instead of simply completing another job. I would highly recommend Attical to anyone looking for attic insulation, rodent proofing, or attic restoration services.

Took many photos to show us the rodent problem we had and proposal to eradicate the problem. They covered all entry areas. Cleaned and sanitized crawl space and attic. Vacuumed all the nesting areas and set traps to catch any rodents in the future. A one year guarantee is peace of mind. His crew of Sonia, Betsy, Oscar and Arturo worked until the job was completed. They were very thorough, professional and skilled in completing the eradication. I can't recommend them enough.

Sorry, this report is from about a year ago. I meant to post it back then, but I completely forgot…read more We started hearing animals running around in our attic. One day, there was an extremely loud noise coming from the water heater closet. When we checked, we found that the insulation board covering the attic access above the water heater had been broken through. The instruction manual attached to the water heater had been chewed into pieces, with shredded paper scattered all over the floor. It looked pretty alarming, so we immediately called Rodent Control Inc. When they arrived, they told us the damage had been caused by rats. They explained that there are two types of rats--small rats and large rats. After spending quite a bit of time inspecting the attic and taking several photos, they told us there was a large amount of rat droppings and rated the infestation as a 9 out of 10 in severity. They said it needed immediate attention. Their proposed solution was to seal all possible entry points around the crawl space and roof, remove the contaminated insulation, disinfect the attic, and charge us more than $5,700. Replacing the insulation would cost even more. The next day, we contacted another company, Ratting on Rodents, for a second opinion. They told us that the type of damage we described was much more consistent with squirrels than rats. Sure enough, they found a dying squirrel in the corner of the water heater closet and removed it. They then inspected the roof and discovered that the metal chimney cap had fallen off. They explained that the squirrel had most likely entered through the chimney. That same day, they replaced the chimney cap, sealed the opening above the water heater closet, and repaired six damaged crawl space vents around the exterior of the house. They also noted that the droppings in the attic did not appear to be fresh, but set traps in both the attic and the crawl space as a precaution. They returned one to two weeks later to inspect the traps and also provided a one-year warranty, promising to come back if any rodent issues reappeared. The total cost for everything was only $1,150. I have never heard anything since then. The problem is gone! Based on my experience, Rodent Control Inc. seems to excel at sales and customer service, but they were unable to accurately identify the root cause or recommend the appropriate solution. I would strongly encourage homeowners to get a second opinion before committing to an expensive proposal. In our case, another company solved the actual problem for about one-fifth of the cost. Good service is important, but accurate diagnosis and effective solutions are what ultimately matter.
