I was first aware of Jeff's services a year ago but as it turned out, my underlying problem then could be repaired under warranty with Dell so I didn't have a chance to use him. A year later I find an AVG Security alert preventing me from accessing my e-mail. After spending several hours rebooting, calling Dell Premium Service and contacting my e-mail provider, I was at wit's end. I texted Jeff having saved his phone number for just such an occasion. Jeff called me about an hour after my text. He had me let him remote into my computer screen to see the problem. After a few key strokes he removed the offending security alert and I was back in business. Mind you I never met Jeff, he did all of this remotely. And bear in mind too, we never talked the cost of the service. He asked if I had an app called Zelle? I didn't but agreed to install it which allowed me to pay Jeff's fee (which I thought was surprisingly low) via the app. No muss, no fuss. A great way to get minor problems fixed expeditiously. Highly recommend him. read more

Jeff remotely worked on my home business network to get two computers talking to each other. It wasn't easy. Both had the same operating systems but certain programs interfered. You need to know your way around these menus. It was good getting this activity working as swapping flash drives was getting file organization deeper in a hole. Thanks Jeff - good job. read more

Jeff is amazing! I called late on a Sunday night and was open to seeing if he could help me. He was very nice and took care of my stuff right away. Jeff went above and beyond with his customer service, he stayed up past 1 am to make sure I got the files I needed. I would definitely come to him again if I have any other tech issues. Windows 10 has recently been destroying laptops left and right! I encountered a "blue screen of death" on a laptop I purchased only two weeks ago. After trying a few days to fix it on my own, I knew I had to call it quits and find a REAL techie to help me with my problem. I looked around for a professional who is not only good at what they do, but also honest. Jeff, the owner of HB Computer Repair, is everything you need in a computer repairman! I contacted him and he was able to schedule a free estimate for me the same day. My laptop had an expected time frame of a day or two to repair... But I was blown away when he called me three hours later to let me know my laptop was ready for pickup! I was so excited to hear that and of course picked it up right away. The best part is that it didn't cost me an arm and a leg!! In THREE hours, Jeff was able to schedule an appointment to give me a free estimate, diagnose the problem and FIX it. He was pleasant to talk to and didn't charge me a ridiculous price. The bottom line is that you should take your laptop or desktop to him for fast and friendly service! Thanks Jeff! read more

Jeff is Genius! He saved my 99% dead Alien Desktop to alive. The guy is very professional and he charges you reasonably. He would also guide you what to do even after the service period is done. This is the kind of service you look for and tell your friends about. Thanks Jeff read more

Woke up Saturday and my mac home computer had a black screen and steady beeps. Figured its a little old probably time for a new one. I began looking and found they are now $1300 for what I have. I checked yelp and found great reviews on Jeff. I wrote him figuring I would be without a computer until Monday. Jeff answered quickly and asked where I was. I told him Garden Grove. He was visiting a friend in Garden Grove and told me to bring over computer right then. I met him at the condo garage and he began looking over computer. He found it was my RAM was shot. I had 8 RAMS and he upgraded to a 16 RAM system. Total cost was $230. He went to buy the RAMS and called me 2 hours later and it was ready. Computer still working like a champ 2 days later. His shop is in Long Beach yet he took the time on a Saturday while visiting a friend to help me out. Definitely my future computer guy! Highly Recommend Thx Jeff! read more

Jeff was great. We called him because my husbands computer crashed and we had a lot of important things that we had not backed up. We messaged him and he called back in 15 minutes. He was able to back everything up on a thumb drive so we could load it on our new computer. Since we had never done this before we had to call him back because we were having an issue with one of our old programs. He called us back several times and even contacted the software company for us. I would highly recommend him for his knowledge and excellent customer service. read more

I'm about as computer savvy as my fifth grader. So when my computer wouldn't boot up, and my hard drive crashed of course I freaked out. I was working on a very important estimate at the time of course it would have to happen now. So I search yelp and I came across just a computer guy! His calm demeanor was very helpful, it was obvious he knew what he was talking about, and he quoted me a more than fair price to perform the work. He went above and beyond trying to get my computer back to me ASAP so that I could finish my estimate. Being someone that prides himself on my own work ethic I have to say that I was impressed with Jeff. He is a definite ace and I will gladly refer him. read more

So glad to have met Jeff, he was friendly, knowledgeable and fast! He answered all my questions and got started right away on my laptop. And I just really appreciated that he spoke with me and not at me when discussing the issues with my laptop. Jeff was a great help! We had an issue with our office computer and he responded to my message within the hour! It ended up being that the computer wasn't fully plugged in which was embarrassing. He could've just gone home, but he took the time to go around our office to see if all our other computers were in working order. It ended up one computer required him to come the next day because he had to bring in certain equipment, but he only charged us for the one day that he came. Jeff is a great guy who truly wants to help you. I will definitely call him in the future! read more

Jeff was quick and very knowledgeable. Prices were very reasonable. I will definitely be recommending him to family and friends.

Called Jeff Re: computor crash he said no problem, he could recover all files and info. When he quoted the price I was Amazed how, cheap it was, he even upgraded my windows and it was ready when promised ,after ironing out some kinks ( on my part ) the computor is better then before it crashed and he said to call him if any more problems ( no charge ). It isn't often you find someone who will go out of their way to help you but, jeff is that type of tech. Would highly recommend Jeff if you have any Computer related Problems read more

Really happy with the service Jeff provided. He swapped out a new hard drive on 2 of my desktops and retrieved some files that I accidentally deleted. He's very professional, patient, listens well, and explains things in a easy to understand way. He picked up my computers from my home in the evening which was awesome given my work schedule. He did the work in a couple of days, then came back to drop them off, again in the evening. Super convenient. Very reasonably priced too. I highly recommend Jeff, and will definitely call him in the future for my computer needs. read more

In the modern house, I wireless network is a necessity to powering most entertainment devices. Jeff helped us completely re-tool our wireless network and repeaters to maximize the wireless signal throughout the house. Now our AppleTV runs much faster, our cell phones are able to quickly connect to the wireless network, and the speed of our wireless network has been maximized. I would recommend Jeff for any of your wireless networking needs in your home. I think his prices were very reasonable. He charged me $80 and he was here for about three hours diagnosing the entire network and making sure that everything was completely operational and the signal was maximized with full strength. It's hard to find good IT people and for $80 that's a great deal. read more

Found an ad posted at the back of a vehicle and called Jeff. He immediately called me back and set up an appointment. Jeff completely helped me out today. I had a product key issue with my Office bundle and what do you know -- I needed to buy a new bundle. However, Jeff gave me some options that were less expensive and even cleaned my computer of malware. I appreciated him taking the time to help me out and he did not charge me for the service he did! Jeff is awesome. My ASUS laptop was dead - completely dead. I had a dissertation to work on the following week, and I was freaking out a bit. I initially took my laptop to Geek Squad (DON'T!), and they were no help (REALLY, DON'T). Then I noticed that Jeff had great reviews on Yelp, so I messaged him, and we talked about the laptop a bit. He picked it up from my place and gave me a free diagnosis the same night. I mean, talk about speedy, right? I figured my laptop was a goner, but it turned out it wasn't! I still asked Jeff to copy all my files, papers, music, etc. into a flash drive so I can transfer all of that into my new laptop. Overall - giving me a free diagnosis, reviving my laptop from the dead, copying all of my data into a flash drive - he charged me $170, which is a steal compared to the ~$400 you'd spend at Geek Squad and other big-name competitors. Also, if you're a student, he's generous enough to give you a student discount. Honestly, Jeff is an awesome dude. He's an easy-to-talk-to kind of guy. If my laptops were to crap out on me again *knock on wood* I'd definitely go to Jeff. read more

My computer had trouble with its touchpad and mouse to the point where I couldn't use it anymore. I tried updating the windows 10 drivers which didn't help out so much. Turns out it was more than just the drivers. Jeff helped fix the problem and now I have no troubles with it. It's pretty cool how committed he was by checking up on me post-repairs. Working around the clock, he was the first call when most computer repair shops are closed. Computer problems can come up at anytime, but he's up to fix it when other repair shops are closed. read more

Search no further! Jeff is the best! I can't say enough great things about Jeff. My HP all-in-one was caught in an endless loop of the blue screen of death. I emailed Jeff in the morning, and he responded back within the hour. He not only came to my place of work to pick up the computer, he dropped it off at my house when it was fixed. I don't know if he always offers this type of door-to-door service, but for a busy professional it was such a bonus! Jeff texted me within a couple hours of picking up my computer with a screen shot showing "all systems go"! Everything was repaired and back up. His prices are very competitive and he will be my go-to guy for all computer repair/IT support from now on. I've used another service repair shop in HB in the past, but their responsiveness and customer service don't even come close to Jeff. (This is my first Yelp review ever after using Yelp for years. That's how impressed I was with Jeff's service!) read more

I broke my computer to the "Yikes!" point. I don't even know how I managed it, but nothing worked. I couldn't even open files. Not only that, but since it was used it also had some sort of administrative protection on it that further made it impossible to undo the damage. I tried all the suggested fixes offered on the Internet, but nothing worked. I was referred to Jeff through a friend and he was able to get me up and running in a few short hours. I simply dropped my computer off, told him a little about the problem, and...Voila! It was like new. Thank you, Jeff! read more

I contacted HB Computer Repair for help with my laptop a couple of months ago. It is an older laptop and was really bogged down with constant pop ups and viruses. It was to the point that I dreaded logging into the laptop for any reason. After HB Computer Repair worked on my computer it worked great. I had a recent issue with the internet and even though I have moved to the East Coast, Jeff was able to remotely fix the minor issues in just a few minutes. And, he did not charge me to refresh things. I highly recommend working with HB Computer Repair, they are professional and it is a great value for the money! read more

I have a Kindle Fire that hasn't worked in months. Finally decided to check for a computer repair on Yelp and found Jeff right by my house. DO NOT USE THIS GUY! Screwed a teenage boys pc so bad that we can't even use it. He was paying with his own allowance for an upgrade and destroyed his PC! He took my son's computer to fix as my son was having trouble upgrading to Windows 10. It was agreed that he would load Windows 10 to his gaming computer. He told us during our vacation that he was unable to load Windows 10. We agreed that he would just reinstall Windows 5 and give him the computer back. He had the computer for 5 days which is plenty of time to do the job, which ended up being nothing. He committed to have it back when we got back from vacation. I reached out to him on Saturday after we landed and arranged to pick up the computer and he told me he hadn't even started it yet. He could only get it to us late at night and we agreed to pick it up at 9:30 pm. While we were on the way to pick it up, he calls me and says he needs another hour as he loaded Windows 7 on the wrong drive? What the heck? He KNEW we were on our way. Horrible timing! We get to Long Beach (Btw his address is NOT Garden Grove incorrect and misleading) and he said it might run slow but he would fix it on Monday. My son logged it on the next morning (Sunday) hoping to be able to use it and it lagged so bad, he couldn't even watch a Youtube video. My teenage son waited all week to continue his gaming while on Spring Break only to have a computer that didn't work. We were forced to endure 154 updates and then only for it to fail. It took us 4 hours! My son was heartbroken. He was paying for this upgrade out of his allowance! During this time, I expressed my dismay and I was very disappointed and my son was heartbroken. Jeff told me to "Calm Down", first example of horrible customer service. I told him my expectations were not met. He gave my son his computer back and it not only would not work, it crashed multiple times! He really must have screwed up the Windows 7 install. This is a simple install and he screwed it up because he couldn't meet the deadline he committed to! Instead of stepping up as he knew he should of and offer an immediate resolve of this horrific situation and make an effort to right his wrongs, he told me that he would not return my son's computer to it's prior WORKING condition. He told me that since he didn't meet my (a CUSTOMERS) expectations that I should have someone else fix it. Can you imagine hearing that? He wouldn't even restore my sons computer to the condition it was when he picked it up. My son's PC now does not work or even boot up because of Jeff's horrible customer service. I am now forced to spend $200 to get Windows 7 installed correct and all the mistakes HE made reversed. He should be ashamed of himself. He took advantage of a teen who trusted him with his computer. DO NOT TRUST HIM. He can't keep a commitment, is highly irresponsible, is incompetent and has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS EVER! Update. No he did not say he would do it free. That is a bold faced lie. Kyle would pay you. You only offered to it for free because you screwed his pc up and the kid was heartbroken. What was supposed to be a reasonable fix has now cost us $200. Please don't act like you are sorry. If you were a true business man you would have remedied right away and agreed to return it to its previous state. As far as high demands go, I told you in multiple texts that you needed to fix it, that is not a high demand, that is what is expected. It's called Customer Service! Apologies are not going to pay for the $200 repair needed for your horrible screwup. Caring heart and nice guy mean nothing in this instance as you have chosen to screw with my teenage son. Not very nice as you say! read more

My laptop crashed from one use to the next, wouldn't boot up, needed it fixed ASAP, found Jeff on Craigslist. He was very accommodating, I dropped it off to him that same day 3 hrs.later he confirmed my hard drive was dead and there could be no data recovery. Since I had the time Jeff told me exactly what hard drive I needed and I made the purchase and delivered it to him. The next day my laptop was ready to go. I had a minor issue due to the complete reinstall and Jeff remotely accessed my laptop and corrected it right away. So based on my experience I would definitely recommend Jeff.
