One of my dresses was giving me a "hunch back" look and she got rid of it so seamlessly. She made sure my clothes fit me like a glove, which I appreciate so much. I had a long skirt, long satin dress, a business dress, and an off the shoulder dress she fixed up. Will provide pictures later when I wear them, but very happy and would come back!!

Years and years ago, when I had the perfect supermodel body and was the elusive size 2, I came to…read morethis seamstress to have my Vanessa Riley gown tailored for my senior prom. My gown was absolutely gorgeous and very high end, but unfortunately it was a bit too big in the waist area (the dress was a size 4). I bought the dress anyway and sought the help of S H Tailor. Not only did she alter the dress perfectly to fit my body, but she also reinforced my hemline. Oh, and she did this all in five days. Knowing that most of beauty queens around Houston come to her for her services, I thought that was very quick! When I wore my gown it was so beautiful and unique to my body and I felt great all night. So that was then and this is now. Since that time, I never went back for anymore alterations. To be honest, I actually simply forgot about this place. However, now that my body has changed drastically (ain't no size 2 anymore lol) I remembered how great and professional this place is and decided to come in a few days ago to have a few of my clothing altered. Especially my jeans. I have a small waist and a big butt (Oh, hey Kim! Hey, Nicki!) and my jeans have always never fit right around my waist. It always created that weird space around my lower back. Anyways, I put on my jeans and she puts pins around the area where I wanted my jeans to hug my curves. She is really busy around this time so if you're in a rush bring in your clothes a few days earlier if you have an event to go to where you would need to wear your clothes that are being altered. My clothes won't be ready till next week. S H Tailor is the best.

Spent $325 to alter 6 dresses and 1 skirt to smaller sizes. Expensive but thought it was worth it…read moreto be able to wear some of my favorite pieces again. Unfortunately I had to come back twice as two items were incorrect at time of pick up. One dress failed to be shorten and another was still too big. When I returned a week later to pick up the two dresses, one was cutting into my armpit so tightly and had gaps on the chest. The only way it fit comfortably is if my arms are all the way behind my back. Otherwise it digs so deeply into the armpit that it hurts. I was told that due to how large the dress was originally, there was nothing that could be done about the ill fit in the armpit/chest area and just pull it down more. Gave no solution to fix. As experts in the alteration field, they should be clear on what can and can't be done with certain garments. I obviously would not have paid to alter a garment if I'd known it wouldn't fit properly. Unfortunately it is completely unwearable with the chest gaps and extremely tight armpit. Essentially I threw away $46 on that.
