I stopped at State Line just before getting on the interstate to head back to NJ. I asked if they had an air pump on-site that I could use. The gentleman at State Line (he was a gentleman) got a portable air pump, filled the tire with air, checked the pressure on all the other tires to make sure that all had the same pressure, and advised me to bring the car in for tire service at home if the tire lost pressure. He would not accept any payment from me for his work. I could not pay him in cash, so I offer this review in lieu of payment. A very rewarding experience.

Even went above and beyond in calling the nearest infinity dealer to inquire about the specific details of the oil change mix and additives that my car requires. The service stand and waiting room is so clean and modern you would think you are in a really high end dealership. They were able to assist me with a ride to work after dropping off my car for service also. Very good people working there !

They ruined my transmission a few years back and blamed it on me. Took over 3+ weeks to get my car…read moreback. I eventually had to go to a junk yard and buy my own transmission for 1/15th of the price of their rebuild quote for them to install. They cut my exhaust pipes where the flange from the Catalytic converter meets the H-Pipe. Not sure why they didn't just unbolt it? In fact, didn't even bolt them back together with new bolts when they cut them off. Instead, they put on exhaust sealer/glue. When I got my car back, I told them that I had a big exhaust leak and their response was, "the car was like that when you gave it to us". My driver side exhaust has been leaking for years due to them cutting the flanges.. I had to grind down the flange just to level it out and it's still not perfect. Every week that I called them, they said never even started it. "it will be done next week, call us next week" - "oh yeah he just looked at it, call us tomorrow" - "give us one more day". How hard is it to swap transmissions? They replaced the oil pan on my transmission and charged me for it without my consent because "It had a dimple in it". I even had to take the car back to get the shifting lever re-adjusted because the car had trouble going into reverse. I never even got my old transmission back either. They wanted to charge me a "core" charge for my own transmission when they were supposed to swap it out with another one I had in the trunk. My car drove perfectly fine without 4th gear and overdrive turned off. Once they did whatever they did, I got my car back and it was slipping gears, only to lose all forward gears on the highway. They charged me to install the replacement transmission I bought at the junk yard. I haven't had a problem with that transmission after all these years. This happened years ago but I remember everything. I love how my review isn't recommended. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

After going to so many other auto services through the years, getting the "go around", high prices ( paid one company which will go unmentioned for a simple oil change! My red light came on shortly after I left & scared I immediately pulled in car service place where I was told the light on my car comes on at 50,000 miles for check but he said "I did need oil", after checking my then car out!" I was perplexed & said "I JUST HAD OIL CHANGE & THEY PUT 6 quarts in that I paid for!" He looked at me & said "Your car only takes 4 quarts & this oil is "old" & thick. They drained mine out putting old oil in & not even enough for oil light was flashing too! You get the idea! Ha! Being a woman they realized I had no clue & wouldn't have if 50,000 service light hadn't flashed on per chance! Needless to say I did a 360 & went back there yelling my head off! They made all sorts of apologies but I warned everyone sitting there of what had happened to me. I watched them do "supposed oil change too" but didn't matter! Place was in Holyoke!) Anyway.... They are a family run business being in business here a good 60 years, I think I heard him say to someone! John, who works for Pete is equally helpful & knows what he is doing! I could rhapsodize forever on what a good business owner & "person" Pete is! I have sat waiting for my car as he told an elderly person who told him she didn't have much money, that he had replaced something no charge because he knew woman was in tears & had little money! I myself, going through cancer treatments in Boston so I needed my car as quickly as possible, has brought my husband home from shop, countless times after dropping car off! I couldn't drive, so as always, he helps anyway he can! He takes care of my husband's car( cousins too & I send friends to him as well!) & recurrent problem(s) too!
