I called a local Subaru dealership to ask about the next major services I would need for my car given the mileage. They gave me a list and a quote but it seemed very high. After looking through a number of reviews of local shops, I settled on Frank's. Patty quoted me for the same services and it was much more affordable. We had just moved and I couldn't find my car registration so she let me text her a screenshot of the info from the RMV website. I appreciated her willingness to work with me! I dropped off the car and everything went well with the service. Not long after, I received a handwritten card thanking me for my business and welcoming me to the area. What a lovely gesture! Last week, I noticed my car was making a random noise so I called Patty. Although they were pretty busy, she said she could squeeze me in on Monday. I dropped off the car and had it back within a few hours. Had seen good reviews and made an appointment recently to get windshield wipers replaced, oil change, and a look at the brakes. Service was prompt and efficient. Patty is also a wonderful person and took the time to explain what was noticed regarding the brakes and that no service was needed at the time. Thank you to Patty and her staff ! In addition, something else came up and I ended up calling Frank's Auto more than once (on what was a busy day and week) to ask what I should do and to make an appointment to come in. Goes out of her way to help. I showed up unannounced at the garage on a busy cold rainy day with unexpected warning lights flashing on my car screen. Her staff quickly checked out my car, and determined that the alternator needed replacement. So, she graciously fit me in to take care of this. I am grateful for her prompt repair. On 1/18/21, I picked up my old Honda Fit from Patty and the crew over at Frank's Auto, I couldn't have been any happier knowing that they took care of me and did everything right for me. I saw what looked to be transmission fluid all on my garage floor (I'm color blind) after my daughter took her car to work. I went to my daughter's place of employment and checked the oil and transmission fluid levels and both seemed okay. There was however fluid still leaking from the car. I took a chance and drove it to Frank's Auto Service. Luckily I made it there with no problems. My daughter's boyfriend was kind enough to follow me there too. The owner Patty came out and took a look at it and said she would call me later that afternoon with an update. She called me as promised and told me the oil filter was hanging on by a thread. She said they tightened it up and added a quart of oil and it was all set to go. The bill was for twelve dollars and change. It is good to know that there are honest people out there. We took a chance with them once before because of a strange sound the brakes were making and they fixed it without breaking the bank. I would highly recommend them. They are honest good people who do great work. By the way my daughter took her car a week before to Jiffy Lube on Main St. in E. Longmeadow just so you know. I am very happy to have Frank's as a local repair shop. I do most of my own repairs when I can but I don't always have the time, motivation, or skill. Whenever I bring my vehicle to them I know they will repair it correctly and Patty is always sure to call me before they do anything so there are never any surprises. Another testament to their honesty and integrity is how they treat my mother. She feels very comfortable with them working on her car. They always make sure she understands whats going on and are prompt with communication. When her 89 Camry became too rusty to drive she finally let it go when Patty insisted she move on for safety sake. I would urge anyone to take their car to Frank's. I feel the prices are fair, but beyond that it's important to be able to trust your mechanic. read more

Ok, I was a little skeptical, cause when I first went in there the owner was semi short and New England brief with me (but me coming from the Midwest, everyone in NE is rudish). I took my rig there and they had both problems fixed (under what she initially quoted me). I got TWO opinions & quotes from two other places.... First of all-the other places didn't even have either of the problems right. (I knew what was wrong with the car). Whomever she has wrenching they know what's up!.. this place is solid. I'm not sure about the other people rating this business highly, but I had a completely different experience. Being new to the area and having an affinity for supporting small, local businesses I found Frank's here on Yelp. I called today to inquire about the price for an oil change. I must note that I called around to a couple of other places as well beforehand. A woman answered the phone and informed me of the price, $33.50 I believe. When I informed her that there were other establishments offering a lower price she immediately, and rudely!, cut me off and exclaimed, "Well, go to them then!" I was taken aback to say the least. I informed her if she didn't want my business that was fine, I was just trying to give the "little guy" some support these days with all the big businesses taking over everywhere. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I have a feeling that the people who left positive reviews must be employees or friends of the owner or something. How can a small business, or any business for that matter, succeed when they treat potential customers that way?! Arrogantly shouting at them to go somewhere else!! I was looking for a local business to establish a relationship with that I can trust and bring my car to and feel safe that the job will be done well and I won't get ripped off. Not too much to ask for I believe. Either way I'm not going to be finding that at Frank's Auto Service that's for sure. Be very wary and cautious about bringing your car there, doesn't seem like they value customers at all! read more
