ordering an engine through JDM was the worst experience I have ever had with any retail or service. poor customer service. they sold us a blew up engine and claimed it passed inspection and pressure testing. it never was even put into the car the hole in it was so obvious. we sent them pictures and the took weeks to resond to us and kept on passing it off sayong they needed to talk to their supervisor and no supervisor would ever call us back. This engine was supposed to be cove under warranty but they did not honor it. we lost out on a significant amount of money and still don't have an engine for the car. never buy from them. they are a middle man that doesn't stand behind the quality of products the sell. These fraudsters sold me a trashed engine. The timing chain was so slack it was almost falling off the gears, and cylinder 2 had no compression and was misfiring at idle. Absolute garbage. Would not trust this company ever again. I changed my review from 3 stars to 1 star after discovering that the misfire at idle was due to low compression in one of the cylinders. After eliminating spark plug, coil, and fuel injector as possible culprits, a compression test showed only 60 psi on #2. It seems they just throw a random engine in a crate and send it to you, and it's sheer luck whether it works or not. Now they're refusing to make good. I have documentation proving the defects from earlier than 30 days in, and they still refused to let me file a warranty claim. No big surprise that half the reviews of this company are unfavorable. read more

DO NOT GO DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY Ordered an engine, and they call to confirm the order. They spoke with the recipient and buyer. They sent an email request to get an ID Card for the shipment to be created. They received all the info and cancelled the order supposedly because of "fraud" even though all requested info was provided and there were no issues with the banking information. Horrible customer service and was hung up on when asking for management. Called back and Michael, who claims to be management, refused to assist and continued to hang up when I asked for his superior. Now they refuse to answer the phones and wont confirm that the order was refunded. -10 star experience read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I ordered a mdx engine from them and they told me to pick out which engine I needed. I explained I'm not a mechanic they said to send a picture. I send the picture they send me a tl engine. I called to get it replaced to the right engine owner states he's gonna charge me a 20% restock fee cause they don't have the right one. Horrible company to deal with, save yourself the headaches and do not buy anything from there. They advertise as a low mile engine but my 17 year old daughter used her hard earned money to buy a engine and transmission package from them because her transmission was starting to slip. When the engine arrived it was damaged from what seemed like an car accident. The case had a visible crack, the front timing cover was broken and the oil pan was badly bent. We tried to have the issue resolved by JDM to no avail. Since my daughter really only needed the transmission we went to try and get that installed and cough it up to a learning experience. Well took it to two different shops and nobody wanted to install due to the visible damage, the second shop said they would only install the transmission but only after fixing the visible leak from the output seals. Well after taking the case apart they found internal damage. JDM still would not take the items back, so we did a charge back to try and get our money back, since she still needed to fix her car. Well now they are suing my 17 year old daughter in small claims court in New Jersey and we live in Arizona. This has been a nightmare and I hope my review helps someone else not go thru the same thing we are going thru. Purchased an engine and trans, had to return the motor because of a broken cast aluminum piece of motor, thankfully I Noticed right away, after receiving the second motor Covid hit installation got delayed because of health reasons, ultimately had to pay someone to do the motor install, once it was complete the motor has a catastrophic engine knock, explained the situation and there reply was there is nothing they can do for me Too much time has passed !!! My feelings if you're a reputable place and want to uphold your name and to have a good dealings with your customers this would've been a no-brainer to compensate another JDM Motor. read more

Buyer beware, false advertisement and scammers through and through, bought a 5vzfe engine and received a piece of garbage looks as if the engine rolled down a hill, engine block itself has cracks and WELDS ON IT. falls within their own warranty policy these guys have been fighting with me for weeks about the refund and return process, there is no customer support number all you can do is contact via email, a red flag in itself, returned the item and they're now only wanting to give $1200 out of the $2860 I spent, they are claiming engine is fine which is not the case they weld up the engines to hold long enough for the warranty to run out them you're left with nothing no working engine and no money. I will be providing a YouTube review video to provide future shoppers with my in depth experience with these scammers, if these pictures aren't enough to scare you away. This is my first yelp review and it's pretty much the same as most here. I went to pick up this motor and it looked like it was pulled from a 200k mile car. If you get your motor shipped, it's likely just been cleaned up a bit. The inside was just as bad. (I have another 90k motor that was MUCH cleaner) The first option I was given was a motor with a mashed in valve cover. The second option (the one I took) was supposed to be a high compression motor, it's not. I tried to clarify that it wasn't when I was there but was brushed off and knew I was just going to get told "we can just refund you" if I asked again as that was the vibe that was given off and the first thing they said in email. I've argued with these guys for 3 days now that it's not a high comp motor and they won't budge even after I've sent proof and they won't tell me how they "know" it's a "high comp" motor. Save yourself the time and headache and just go to another business in the tristate area. read more

This place sold us a poop soup motor coolant and oil mixing so dissapointed they also almost didn't give our money back

Although the parts attached to this engine are not guaranteed to work, it was impressive that basically everything was non-functioning. Waterpump leaking, ac compressor broken, exhaust manifold cracked, tps sensor broken, thermostat housing damaged, intercooler badly damaged, wastegate actuator modified. It took me a month to special order the needed parts so it's past the 30 warranty. Worst part is the headgasket is clearly leaking AND as the turbo leaking oil. Hopefully the bottom end of the engine is okay with a gasket set and resurfacing the head. read more
