The service here is amazing. I enjoyed the selection and value. My favorite part was getting a new shirt with stars.

I work in the mall so I frequent this location and mostly shop for clothing. They have a good selection at a pretty reasonable price so I can't complain. The staff are friendly and helpful when you need them, and they are usually at their customer service registers. The only complaint I have is their upstairs restrooms. They always smell, have 1-2 stalls "closed for maintenance" or clogged, and don't keep up with cleaning. It doesn't help that the lights are pretty dim and the sink are peeling and don't work well. read more

Ever since my hometown JC Penney went down a few year ago, this has been my favorite JCP. Had some great interactions with the customer service reps. Some of the recent employees however have left much to be desired. I was searching for a pillow a few weeks ago and there was a man curled up on one of the mattresses on display. As I saw it, a rep happened to be walking by. They saw it, then me, then smiled and said "What can you do?" Maybe ask the person to wake up and get off the bed! I haven't been in this store in over 18 months. The store itself was clean. Dressing room attendants were doing a good job keeping up with the steady flow of customers trying on clothes. My issue was when I went to use the bathroom. It was gross! You could obviously see that no one had attended to it for some time. Paper was all over the floor in the stalls. I would have loved to wash my hands but both soap dispensers were empty and the trash can was over flowing. This is one area that should be checked frequently and obviously, someone dropped the ball on this one. Come on, JCP! Get your act together! read more

Let's be clear about something. Maybe at one time JCP was a great place to shop but what Ron Johnson has done as CEO will likely be studied at Wharton and similar places of business higher learning for years as a case in how you can run a successful 100+ year old brand into the ground in under five years. What he has done with the chain is the equivalent of Budweiser deciding to stop making Bud and Bud Light to focus on only craft beer. Great idea in theory and you will no doubt pick up some people who wouldn't have bought your brand before, but for every person who is now interested how many did you just alienate who based on your prior sales were clearly fine with your products? I will say that the store looks, and that's the key word here with looks, nicer then it did a couple of years ago but who the hell cares how it looks when prices have gone up while selection has gone down? They have also shied away from the digital age, selling items online but doing little to promote it or actually keeping things even remotely close to in stock. The lack of tech-savvy bears an unnerving resemblance to Blockbuster and we all know how well they're doing. As for their new pricing "scheme", you can't take a middle-market store in the middle of a recession and not have sales. It's never worked before. If you want to do that, you have to do it over a long period of time and certainly not in a recession when people want value more than ever. Forced branding can only be done on cattle. read more

I took my elderly, wheelchair bound mother to shop at JCPenney in the Lehigh Valley Mall. Her back started hurting from the wheelchair so I found a clearance pillow to purchase. Another shopper put it on the seat of the wheelchair while I held my mother up. I did this to be certain the pillow did not make her more uncomfortable or create a danger to her positioning. I tore off the only tag, which had the price on it. The cashiers would not accept their tag. The wanted me to stand my mother up(again, she is disabled) and prove that the pillow did not have a tag, or prove that there wasn't a bar code. I had to go back to housewares, grab another pillow and a nice man let us pay for the pillow. It was rude, embarrassing to my mom, and definitely not courteous or thoughtful. It was their tagging system. They made the error by not tagging correctly, yet we had to solve the problem in order to pay. Do better KCPenney. So close to discriminating against handicapped individuals. read more

Do not order online with JCPenney. Not sure how other experiences were with people however I personally will not be ordering from them again. I ordered a a present online for a Hot wheels Mega Garage and a pack of 5 small Hot wheel cars. Nothing fancy just some cars to go with the Mega Garage, for a 2 year old birthday present. That was on 11/13/18 and roughly 10 days later I was informed the Mega Garage was in and the cars will be arriving in 4-7 business days. I would have until 11/30/18 to pick the item up or it will be returned. So I had to drive out to JCPenny's just to get 1 of my 2 items. On 12/8/18 I went into the store to see if the cars were in yet and was told not yet. I asked sarcastically "I ordered this over 3 weeks ago, does it usually take a month to pick something up" I was told "Sometimes it depends on where it is coming from. It could be sent from anywhere in the country." It is now 12/11/18 and I'm still waiting for 5 small Hot wheel cars. Today I called JCPenny and the representative told me to hold and I needed the "online department" After 3 minutes on hold someone picked up the phone and hung up or It was disconnected. I GIVE UP and they can keep the 5 cars valued at $5.99. My suggestion is do not order online with JCPenny or at least this store unless you want to wait more than 1 month to receive your order. If you happen to order multiple items be prepared to drive to the store and pick them up individual pieces. If you don't they will be returned while you wait for the other items to be received. read more

I had been to every other shoe store in the mall looking for a pair of shoes to match a "special occasion" dress. I was feeling like giving up the search. JCP is a great place to shop. In fact one of my first jobs was at a JCP when I was a teenager, i worked gift wrap during the holidays. I haven't worked there in many years but i do love the shop there. The store has had a change up recently. It is more open and airy. The price structure has changed and they are no longer doing coupons for sales. They are having sale days on specific days of the month. The tags also no longer say 14.99 they will say $14 instead. I do miss some of the brands that have seem to left the store but I do appreciate what they are doing. My Hubby and I bought our mattress there a few years ago. It is fantastic and we got a great deal. Hubby just got some great jeans there last week. The kids department isn't my favorite. I feel like they don't have much stuff for the toddler sizes. But there is a big selection for baby. Every time I go to the mall i walk through to see what they have. It is a nice shopping experience and I like shopping here. read more

Do not use this place for your family pictures. We had an appointment scheduled for 10:20. One of the first appointments in the morning. We scheduled an early appointment as we have an infant and it was important that we get her in and out to avoid any baby meltdowns. An hour later, we FINALLY get called in. At this point, the baby has had it, our two older kids are bored to death and I'm beyond annoyed. We got ONE lucky shot where the baby was not crying (but with tears in her eyes) but with 3 other kids, not everyone was smiling. The rest of the shoot was a complete waste of time. You would think a business that deals with infants/kids/etc. would be more timely in holding appointments or avoid double booking. Going forward, we'll be taking our business elsewhere. read more

I grew up on JCP. Then I drew away. And now I find myself going back. The last few times I needed something specific (comfortable brown leather walking shoes, a wedding rehearsal dress, a swimsuit, curtains...), I browsed around and couldn't find what I needed. And then I happened upon JCP in the mall and found exactly what I was looking for. It's a great place to shop for apparel if you don't necessary need the best quality and don't want to spend a ton of money. I've found that this location tends to be pretty tidy, with fast checkouts & fairly clean fitting rooms. Like all department stores, I find that early AM or late PM are the best times to go if you need to try on lots of things. Their curtain selection is also one of the best in the area. Today's find was sub $20 swimwear...I found similar quality pieces at Macy's for nearly double that (and I liked the JCP swimsuits better). You may have to dig a little to find what you want, but for the price, it was worth it to me. read more

My wife ordered a crockpot through JC Penny online. They messed up, sent it to our old address, my wife called trying to get things fixed with 4 different people and was basically told it was our problem and that she must not be good with technology. I find this lack of customer service to be disgusting. Thankfully I had family still living in the area that we could have it shipped to by the local postal service since they were willing to do their job unlike JC Penny's shipping department. read more

This "supervisor"had the balls to hang up on me and allow a "woman" who sounds like she had been smoking all her life to talk down to me , the consumer. Came here because I have a relative in town who doesn't have this store where she lives. I usually shop at Macy's but am always told to shop here instead. Originally did not intend to shop, but you know how it is being a girl. First looked at sunglasses. They were all reduced to $8 probably because it's the end of summer. Next took a look at bras. They were between 15 and 20 bucks and actually fit me properly. My sister got some costume jewelry and a few shirts. Opened up a credit card with the super friendly sales associate and everything came to less than $60. I'm definitely not complaining. read more

Jcpenny is one of my favorite places to shop until today. I went in today to look for decoration for my wall at work and they had a great sale. Buy one get 1 for a penny. I was interested in a very nice wall piece which had no price tag on it. I proceeded towards the front to ask the yapping employees. So much for a University Suit-Up Event being easy going. Instead, Carrie (a register worker, Associate #0071) decided to hustle college students. At store #0067, we were harassed at the register by Carrie. She kept us there for over 10 minutes, with a line of our peer college students behind us: asking us to open store credit cards multiple times even after we refused over three times, asking my boyfriend his age and asking for his drivers license and loudly exaggerating many times how "nice" he was for letting his "friend" use his Family's and Friend's Discount Card, which was corporate issued from his mother who is a Store Manager and worked at JCPenny for over 15 years. Let it be known that the card is called "Friend's and Family's Discount card" because it can be used by family and the family's friends. This has deterred me and many other college students from ever shopping at JCPenny ever again. Sadly there is no negative star button but rest assured, if one existed, I would have put one for Carrie. If there was any wonder why brick and morter stores are closing and JCPenny has been a declining business that is being run into the ground, Carrie answered those questions. read more

I recently ordered items for my husband and daughter from JcPenny.com and though I was satisfied with the quality of the items the return policy is horrendous. I would highly recommend purchasing through a different online company. I needed to exchange an item, I wanted the exact same item except my husband a size larger than what I had ordered, I was irate to find out that I had to pay shipping a second time in order to make an exchange. I often order from Macys.com and the simply send out a return label and when they receive the returned item they reship the appropriate size free of charge. I am highly disappointed because there is a purse that I really want from JcPenny.com (which would actually bring my total to the point that shipping on the original item would be waived) however, after my dealings with supervisor at JcPenny.com and their ridiculous online return policy it appears as though I will have to pass on the purse, get a refund for the sweatshirt and make my purchases elsewhere. I highly advise against any online shopping with JcPenny, in the long run it would have cost me over 25.00 in shipping charges to purchase a sweatshirt that was originally valued at 52.00; so much for sale! Again, I am extremely upset by this, I was a loyal JcPenny cutomer. read more
