I'm of the opinion that most of the customers that walk into this store would never go to Yelp and read this review. So this review is for the likely younger and web savvy. If that's you -- -- JCPenney offers the best value in clothing, no contest. Much better than depressing places like Walmart, Target, Ross, Burlington -- all that nonsense. It's better than Kohl's too, but not always. I know, I know -- you think JCP is for old people. So you're making the mistake of never walking in. So let me explain: parts of the store are for old people. Their kids section is sad compared to Kohl's and OLD NAVY, so you're not wrong there. However, there are departments that have been re-vitalized because of a new killer design team. Middle aged and younger women should inspect the A.N.A and WORTHINGTON departments, which greet you when you walk in. You're missing out on some stunning affordable fashion. A.N.A is like FREE PEOPLE LIte, which means not as over the top ornate or pricey. Middle aged and younger men need to sniff around MUTUAL WEAVE and sometimes ST. JOHN'S BAY. That latter brand used to be dull Midwest MEH... but it's starting to show a little life because of the aforementioned new design team. So. You've never heard of those brands, younger web savvy person? That's because they're in house brands. JCP doesn't have to pay for rights to a name, which means neither do you. That's where the value thing kicks in. If you've been brainwashed to think brand is everything, you've already stopped reading by now. But if you're still reading these words, know the shockingly good prices are in these store brands. They're not 'cheap' because they're 'junk'. They're inexpensive because there's no middle man gauging you. But so many are so brainwashed to think if a woman's sweater is $9.99 during a Doorbuster, you're being had. Nope. You're likely not. Now, if some kind reader runs in with this review and sees high prices, or let's say 'higher than Kohl's', I didn't say JCPenney's prices are always better. To get the best prices, you must -- 1. Go into the store when new shipments have arrived. Check them out. Try stuff on. 2. If you see an insanely good DOORBUSTER price, nab it. Otherwise -- 3. -- photograph the item and stalk it online. Every Friday prices can change, and you'll start to learn when to buy and when to wait. Do this over coffee as a hobby. If the prices on a few items drop, buy them online and have them delivered to the store. Also -- 4. -- join their REWARDS program. Customers that show an interest in this store can buy stuff way cheaper than casual buyers. It's like wholesale vs. retail. My partner in crime bought a simple but nice sweater, a black model long sleeve teeshirt with white stripes, and a pair of Xersion exercise pants with flairs. Cute. All three, with no rewards and no clearance: $35. Me and my partner have cleaned the store out these last 3 seasons. Kohl's may be cheaper, but lots of their stuff is cheap junk. I was happy to find the item that I wanted discounted. I was not happy to find the state of the women's dressing rooms. The dressing rooms had dust bunnies on the floor and I had to sanitize my hands after I touched something sticky. They need to take better care of the fitting rooms so they match the store . The store had a large selection and lots of employees . I talked to a few to find my item and the fitting room and they were helpful.I went over to see the jewelry and saw some earrings for over $1,000 . This jCPenney is not attached to a mall. First time in this location. Store looks organized and this weekend has a lot of sales going on. Browsing the sales with my daughter for last minute gifting. Friendly, helpful and approachable staff. Table Display merchandised clothes are neatly folded. An assigned staff goes around with a roll away folding board contraption for faster and easier double over shirts. Long lines at the checkout went faster with at least 5 cashiers open! Our cashier Anthony was very courteous and made sure our savings and rewards were put to use.... This review is for JCPenney customer service, not this store location. Yelp didn't give an option for phone customer service. My issue is that my online order waa created and th we label made 10-05-25, that was 8 days ago. I called UPS, they didn't have my package and told me to call JCP. When i talked to them, they couldn't tell me the status either and said I'd have to wait 3 more days and call back if i didn't get my package. I suggested they call me back when they tracked it down. Natasya is an excellent photographer, she was very patient, she was very well experienced, she had great ideas for poses, and she took the time that she needed in order to make our photo experience memorable. I go to the front and get told to go back to the back for returns as if I'm an inconvenience? When they take my return the whole transaction was as though I shouldn't be there, no customer service skills whatsoever. When I visited, I noticed that Levi's were 40% off. It seemed like a good deal, so I decided to buy a pair for my boyfriend. But, when I took it to the register, it rang up around $80. When I asked the cashier about it, she said it was buy one, get one 40% off. But the signage doesn't say anything about buying 2 pairs for a discount. It just says 40% off. So they were advertising a " Black Friday sale" . The ad said " in store or online" Saw that Levi's were 40% off . Great price ! In the middle of BBQing on a Sunday afternoon I noticed that the sale ended Sunday night. Dropped what I was doing and ran over to take advantage of the sale. I live in Calimesa so it was a little inconvenient. When I got there it was a TOTALLY different price. It was just under $40 MORE for two pair. I asked if that was a mistake and was told no. I asked if they would honor the price that was advertised. Answer was a hard no. I was told they were already discounted enough. I spoke to the manager Carissa , and she said that was just an ad and that corporate regularly ran ads advertising a price but that the stores set their own pricing ... in other words false advertising... after a short discussion with me letting her know how displeased I was, she told me to go pick out a pair and come see her and she would do her best to match the price. I went over to pick out some but started thinking about the audacity to run an ad then knowingly overcharge people. I started thinking about how many other people were there today and overpaid . How many of those people are struggling financially? For home many people would that $40 dollars they were overcharged make a difference in their budget . I decided I'd rather go somewhere else and pay full retail . I went to Kohls and much to my surprise they were having their own Black Friday sale and Levi's were 40% off !! I had an appointment today at 4pm. First off, I've rescheduled this appointment about 3 times and not once did the girls give me a hard time. My husband and I don't have the best schedules and most times that can be stressful but they never once made me feel guilty for rescheduling. At my appointment I was greeted by a very nice receptionist who took all my basic information and communicated with us that the server was not working at the moment so if we decide to get digital prints it would take about a week to receive them which is about 4-5 days longer than usual but I had no problem with that and continued my appointment. Disclaimer I have a crazy toddler and after missing a nap he was not his best however Elle was amazing !!!! She had me step in and get my son comfortable. He was insane but somehow she made it comfortable for us. We sang Mickey Mouse songs to get his attention and let's just say I might've looked like a complete dummy but she was soooo amazing! She was very helpful in going over our package options despite my son being a complete cry baby ahaha. Nonetheless I can't thank her enough! Do not order custom draperies from J.C.Penney. I ordered drapes January 20, 2018 and as of today August 23 I still DO NOT have my drapes however I have been charged in full for them!! It was supposed to take 6-8 WEEKS and it has now been 33 WEEKS!!!!! They have made them twice now, both times to the wrong size! I still do not have my drapes I paid nearly $2,000. I had ordered a watch from the website 3 weeks before my anniversary for my husband and when i checked to see the location of it, it stated still in route to the store. I of course contacted the customer service number only to be re routed to the store. After a few attempts I finally reached a representative at the store. I of course was not rude to the ladies even though i was frustrated with my situation as one, they are not owner of the store but workers and two they weren't the company shipping my watch. After speaking to a representative Karissa, who was understanding and i formed me of the policies, i asked to speak to a manager as I needed a solution to the problem. I spoke to the manager named Maria, she was also very understanding and while she gave me the same run down of the policies attempted to help me. I was not at all expecting them to fix my issue right then and there as that unrealistic and unreasonable, hearing that they at least were looking i to it made me happy. She asked that i allow the weekend to see if the watch showed at the store. Monday came and i received a notice that my watch was at the store. I was so excited, i drove yo the store which is down the street from where i worked, to only find out it had been returned to sender by the delivery company as the label was not legible. I talked to Maria and in person she was just as sweet than on the phone, i was able to get store credit and Karissa was willing to go above and beyond! These ladies made my day ! I will be returning! This store is disgusting! I went here around Xmas time, and the roof was leaking EVERYWHERE! There were buckets all over the store collecting disgusting water. Roof tiles were crumbling and missing. The whole store smells like mildew, it was disgusting! We ended up leaving because we were worried for our health. Fast forward to today, the store has tarps and hoses all over where missing tiles are, and trash cans collecting the water! How have they not fixed this yet?! Trying to get ready for a Mediterranean cruise that is just around the corner, I realized that for a 12-day trip I needed more underwear and a new belt if I was going to avoid laundering clothes when in the middle of the sea. Even though washing machines and a laundry will be available on the ship, I prefer to avoid both, and just bring enough changes of clothes to fit in one suitcase weighing less than 50 pounds and last the entire trip. So, having had good luck in the recent past with this JC Penney store, I drove over there to look for the items I needed. The store was bright and inviting, and sales personnel friendly and willing to help. But I prefer to look for myself, and just wanted Jockey products. I got very lucky again, for there were just two 3-packs of Jockey underwear in my size, and I grabbed them both. Then, besides finding two stylish casual Columbia belts that fit well, a sign announced that 50% would be discounted off the price of a second belt if two belts were purchased instead of one. It sounded like buying two was worthwhile, and I liked both styles. So, even though I only needed one belt, I brought two to the cashier. When I got to the register, I was pleased to be told that besides the discount on the belts, a store-wide promotion all of this month would reduce the price of all goods an additional 15%, and I was handed another coupon to save $10 on a $25 purchase by the next day. Overall, the discounts on fine new merchandise saved me more than a cool $35 on $96 worth of mostly needed merchandise, even without using the 1-day coupon to buy additional goods. This has to be classified as a very good shopping experience. And, I am now good to go for my fast approaching cruise! read more

This specific location is usually my go-to to pick up work clothes but after today I won't return. There was a white female, blonde, heavy set, (who seems to be a manager) was training/walking with another employee. She was complaining about other managers/associates and had nothing nice to say. Just overhearing this uncomfortable conversation made me decide to not shop here anymore. I didn't bring it to anyones attention but it seems like the employees aren't happy. First they only have two dressing rooms. I went into the men's dressing room as it was the closest one. I have a bad knee and it's hard to walk from one side of the store to get to the dressing room. They need to take the pins out of the chairs. People stick pins in chairs that they take off the clothes. Need more selection of women's Levi's. Store personal is not too friendly. read more

Be really careful when you go here. I bought my son a shirt, wrong size so he returned it with the receipt. I paid with a debit card not a credit card and they said they couldn't give him cash back. They never put the refund in my account and kept the receipt. They took advantage if the fact my son is 18 and didn't know better. He said he wanted cash and they said they never give cash refunds. While I've shopped at many different JCPenney locations, this review is based strictly on my salon experience in Redlands. Two weeks ago, I had the most wonderful experience with Jessica as my colorist. I've been receiving highlights from a premiere salon in Beverly Hills for nearly six years, but I had to find someone closer to my new home to provide this service. Trust me, I was nervous about shopping around for a new colorist. My first attempt with a new colorist was a disaster, and I desperately needed a color correction. If you've ever been through this type of experience, you understand the anxiety and hesitancy innate in returning for services. But then, I met Jessica Auclair. She was recommended by the salon manager, and the three of us talked at length about what we should do. As it turns out, Jessica also used to work locally in Twin Peaks, so we had a lot to talk about. During the process, she had to deposit color as well and completely redo my highlights. After the first shampoo, we both knew that more work was required. After a few hours (yes - hours -- the previous damage was really really bad), I emerged with my base color restored, and new highlights of the appropriate shade of blond. Jessica is truly a master colorist. She is an excellent listener with the skills to do the job right. I will be a loyal customer of hers from this day forward as I know she'll be able to make my hair look beautiful. I feel as if I've gained a new friend, too. Ask for her by name! read more

I was a little disappointed when I went today for a few reasons 1. The woman at the jewelry counter, although helpful, seemed to have an attitude of wishing we weren't talking to her. 2. There were several people that I couldn't tell were employees because either they didn't have a name tag on or were so disheveled and sloppily dressed that I thought there was no way they could be employees. 3. Many of the sizes did not correlate with what was on the hangers and it seemed like there was no organization to the racks. This is specifically for the photo studio. It was such an obnoxious experience. Every interaction chaffed. We got there at 1205 for our appointment that started at 1210. Feeling bad that we were late, I had my groupon in hand and entire party attentive and ready. Too bad they were running 20-25 minutes behind. Seriously, what's the point of scheduling appointments so closely if it's so cramped? The photo session was not too bad though. The photographer seemed rushed but she was really nice. She tried to take multiple shots when she noticed blinking in the photos. I wish we could have seen the photos as we were shooting to retake some poses. It was seriously fast though. Also, it seemed like they only had one set of most of the props. We had to wait for the other photographer to finish with a set of chairs before we could take our photos. I know they are a retail business first so I wasn't surprised by the hard upsell of the product and packages after. The girl helping wasn't extremely patient with us as we selected the 12 images for our package. She and another employee even exchanged cross words as she was helping us, which was quite awkward. I found this store to be rather ill defying. Much of the staff was disrespectful and did not pay much attention to the costumer. They would make people wait in lines to finish a conversation they were having with a fellow employee. In particular, a employee named Donna who worked in the jewelry department did not want to go through the trouble of finding my information to check how much longer a watch repair would take. She just bluntly told me how long they usually take for the repair. She did this without even glancing at me. Just looking at what she was doing already.
