Store was nice and organized, cashier was a little mean and degrading when I asked about the prices. Items were hanging on rack as individual pieces but grouped when at the register. Ahhh Hot Topic. During the 90's and into the 2000's it seemed that every mall in S. Cal was REQUIRED to have one of these. And it seemed required that they were dark, gloomy dungeons of goth/alternative fashion and music that pumped metal music up to 11 on the dial. It used to be a running joke amongst me and my friends back then when we'd say "Am I goth enough or do I have enough tattoos to go in there?!" Ahhh..fun times. Since the 2010's however, the Hot Topic chain has taken steps to not only soften thru image but have also tried to appeal to a broader customer base. Sure, it's still one of the go-to places to find band shirts, alt jewelry, studded wristbands etc.; but these days they feature a lot (and I mean a lot?) of pop-culture items. Now you're just as likely to see Dr. Who, Marvel, Stranger Things and Disney related items as you are to find Cannibal Corpse and Napalm Death t-shirts. They still try to keep a "darker" edge to themselves and their offerings; but have definitely broadened their horizons. Adapt or die, right? As Jocelyn O said in her review. This location is big. In fact, this is the largest Hot Topic in the USA!! Located on the Mountain Grove side of the plaza, it replaces the Justice Bros that pulled out a number of months ago; and let me tell you...it's huge! This is not your Dad's dark, gloomy and dangerous-looking Hot Topic at the mall by any stretch of the imagination. There is also abundant parking outside which is handy. Also, as shown in some of the pictures, there is a convenient "parent couch" area off to the side that is set up to look like the "Christmas Lights" set from Stranger Things. The location is spacious, roomy and well lit; aided by the large front windows that let in lots of natural light. Because it's so big, this location is able to feature a lot more merchandise than their typical locations. Many of the before-mentioned pop culture items can be found here along with a large selection of Funko Pop figures (great for collectors!) The workers here are a surprisingly pleasant highlight! In the 8 or so times I've visited so far, they have always been super friendly and approachable. They seem to know their products and are always happy to make recommendations. They also seem very judgement-free; which, as a 54 year old chubby guy I very much appreciate. I'm fact I've always struggled finding something in my shirt size (2XLT/3X) when coming here so I was always discouraged. I explained this once to one of the employees (a cute and very helpful gothy type girl) and she pointed out that many of their shirts and clothes are are available in larger/plus sizes on their website. I never even thought to check there! This was an amaaaaazing suggestion and my wife and I have been able to find stuff in my size (and surprised me last Christmas with an Edward Scissorhands shirt! :) ). I've also seen their employees being very friendly and helpful to other customers when I've visited; so it's nice to see this kind of consistency. This location as spooked me! I think I'm ever going to want visit one of their mall locations ever again. Highly recommend coming here. Bring your kids..your grandkids..your niece/nephew! Oh yea..and bring your wallet; you'll probably wind up buying something...or two, maybe more. Most likely more! read more

In Mountain Grove plaza in Redlands. Plenty of parking. To the left of Lane Bryant and to the right of the Gap Factory Outlet. I must say, this is the largest Hot Topic store that I've been to. It's new and very clean. I love the couch on the right side where you can chill while your kids is shopping in the store. A very large selection of what you normally see in the smaller Hot Topic stores. Love their collection of Pop vinyls here. The employees here are very friendly and ask you if you need any help. Some weird pink haired girl followed me all through out the store breathing down my neck and once I finally found something I try to ask her if she could check if they had a shirt in a different size she started being hostile, rolling eyes and under her breath says "fucking wetback". I just put my stuff down and left I'm never coming here again ! Tryna imply that Im stealing or something by following me everywhere because im a darker skin tone is ridiculous! read more

I came in & the workers here are so rude they dread to do their job & there was only one employee there that was a total sweet heart, helped me find a pair of pants that i asked one of the girls about & she said "we dont have them in stock, whatever is on the floor is what we have so if you don't see them then we most likely don't have them" so i asked if she could please check on the computer for me to make sure & she rolled her eyes and went to "check" but said they didn't have it & repeated what she had said prior i asked another nice girl there & she made sure to look around the store & was thorough & luckily she found the exact pants that i had asked the other girl prior to her i then went to look at the racks to see other cute clothes they had just put up and girls working there were just giving me the side eye or rolling their eyes and talking smack.. anyways thank you to the girl who helped me out & the rest of them need better customer service training. not only that; when i was checking out my items they were all in a little circle gossiping instead of greeting customers and helping them out read more

We were just there and the staff was so welcoming. It was a blistering hot day and I had my kid and doggie with me. The store reps were helpful and nice. While checking out Larry made a suggestion for a purchase. We ended up getting a Red Japan Crate Candy Box. We loved it!! I've always liked Hit Topic and truly felt a lot better about our visit that day because of the store reps. My dog Mochi wanted to be outside but it was too hot. The reps made us feel welcome the whole time. We went in for one thing and left with more than we expected. Thank you so much to Larry! You made our experience a great one! read more
