Getting there: Located inside JC Penny's, as soon as you walk in you can't miss it because it is in the middle of the store. Experience: Some of my girlfriends used to work here for a long time, so this was my go to spot. I was always able to go in, grab what I need then head out. Even if one of my friends were not working when I went in all of the other ladies were super friendly and resourceful. This location is also a lot less traffic as well. read more

So, this Sephora is located INSIDE of JC Penny! It's still a really nice Sephora. I have never encountered one rude staff member. In fact, they have all been helpful. They carry all the same products that other Sephora stores do so I never have an issue finding what I need. They let you use their gift cards they sell at this location for JC Penny as well. So I got my mom one as a thank you gift once. It made it easier for her to find something she likes, since she was able to use it at both stores. What sucks though is that you can't use your JC Penny money here. So sad... read more

Literally not one employee asked if they could assist me. I wasn't greeted and when I asked about foundations and concealers the employee just pointed and said that I might like the ones on that shelf. Didn't walk me over or tell me about the product. Then she walked over to the cashier and started to talk about their weekend plans. Very disappointed at the level of customer service in this store. This site is located inside of JC Penney. I needed to exchange an Anastasia pencil. I purchased the new thicker one at the Victoria Gardens free standing location but I did not like it at all. My brows started looking like they were yelling to people "LOOK AT ME, DAMMIT. LOOK AT ME HARD". Something had to be done. This place was packed on a Sunday. I only had to wait about five minutes for someone to help me. Courtney and Marty both took good care of me and helped me with three different color options. Marty also helped me fill in my brows with my new color. They were so friendly and refreshing! The clerk that helped me at the check out was also very friendly. I wish I could remember her name!! This place, although in a department store, seems to have all of the options of a free standing location. Although, admittedly, I was only searching for one thing. "My mind is telling me no but my body, my body is telling me YES". Having a Sephora in such close proximity is a blessing and a curse. I love the convenience of going in and just picking up stuff I need, unfortunately that never happens and I have to hide the evidence in my trunk so people don't know the extent of my addiction. I always run out of lash glue at the worst times and Sephora has always been there for me. I recently became a Sephora VIB all thanks to this store. All I had to do was spend a ton of money (it really is worth it though). The staff is always swamped and I hate to say it but most of the people working there don't know a lot. I don't know what the requirements are to work here but knowing the names of brushes and what toner is should be on the list. I had one of the girls do my make up once and it looked like a boyfriend does my makeup tag on YouTube. My skin is really dry so it really wasn't her fault but I definitely wiped it off when I got to my car. Hand Sanitizer in the eye BURNS. They've always been friendly but I've never really needed help on what to buy or how to apply anything so I can't say first hand. I did notice that when other customers ask them about what brands of this or that to buy they don't push their own Sephora Line like other stores I've been to so I appreciate that. Their NARS collection is slowly getting bigger and I've noticed they started stocking the shelves more frequently. *Sigh* Writing this review makes me want to go there now. I have never been so insulted and embarrassed by the clerks working at Sephora today. They had security come to jcpenney checkout and take Sephora s items from me and return them to sephora, like I was trying to steal them!! The clerk who was working caused my card to be "not authorized" is what she said. When I called my card about it, they had no record of the declined card attempts. So this clerk was intentionally trying to embarrass me, asking if I was sure I wanted all of the items still. (Like i was going to try stealing them but had been caught and consequently didn't want them). She appeared surprised when I paid with cash. Everyone knows there's a major competitor nearby, but every time I come into this Sephora, I get knowledgeable, friendly ladies who make it hard for me to head to the other spot, despite having tons of rewards perks there. It boils down to knowledge about product and the field they work in, and being willing to help. These ladies know their stuff, and they offer to help every time I'm there. Major points for that! They are always able to point me to the exact products I need. That goes a long way. With the amount of money one drops in a place like this, it's nice to walk away with amazing products that work. I can't count how many things that collect dust in my makeup drawer because I bought them without guidance from someone who knows more about them than I do. If I counted them up by their prices, I'd probably feel ill from the thought of wasted money. From hair, to makeup, to skincare, Sephora obviously hires people who KNOW the products they sell. Case in point, last time I was there I explained my prob with my current foundation, and I kind of anticipated some random suggestions like I've received at other places in the past--Nope, she pointed me to the PERFECT foundation. I'm THRILLED with my new foundation--it's exactly what I was looking for. I was impressed that she immediately knew what I needed based on listening to my complaints about my other one. Also, the color matched perfect to me, which NEVER happens unless they're using the machine thingie at Estée Lauder. All in all, I'm very impressed with this Sephora. She gave me advice about what color is good for my eye brows so I will be trying it out soon. They don't have much in their store and their store is pretty messy. I am a Sephora addict! VIB Rouge member and generally love Sephora products and employees! I'm going to first say - make the drive to Rancho or Riverside, it's worth it! Here their product selection isn't nearly as extensive - which I understand since they are inside a JC Penney. What is most upsetting is their lack of customer service! I had booked a makeover for 10AM today, I walked in as soon as the store opened and went directly to the Beauty Studio in the middle of the store! One employee was assisting another customer, so I waited patiently (normally at full Sephora stores an employee with greet you, see if you need help with anything or inquire what they can do to help you!) I made eye contact with an employee who appeared to be organizing or restocking near the brushes (I know she is a CMA since she did my makeup last week!). I continued to stand there, nobody coming to see what I needed or why I was there! I JUST walked out of the store after waiting for 10 minutes with not ONE employee even approaching me! OLIVIA is the best and a complete life savior! I am completely new and inexperienced when it comes to make-up. However, I had a photoshoot that day and all make up artists were booked. I had to do the best I could by trying to figure it out on my own alongside my friend, who was the photographer, who had little knowledge of make-up as well. Olivia came to our rescue by showing us the best products and guiding us through the process of applying it. She went above and beyond when she didn't need to and I am incredibly grateful for her. She is warm, friendly, patient, and incredibly passionate about what she does. It is refreshing to see and it made a stressful situation for us, a fun one. When Olivia had to step away to help another, then came in Ashley - who gave the final touch and completion I needed with care and precision. The staff was super down to earth and Gabby spent the time getting to know my routine and my goals. She went above and beyond. I had gone to Ulta across the street and it was a mad house, the lady gave me maybe 2 minutes of her time and recommended some odd combos. I went directly into Sephora and Gabby wiped the other stuff off and analyzed me skin and even taught me how to apply it, and used a cool machine for color matching. If I'm asking a simple question just for clarification and I'm telling you I don't use and have NEVER used that particular item from that line DON'T try and tell me that I'm wrong. I have been to this sephora a few times now and have not had pleasant experiences. First off the sales girls are absolutley rude. I always come in after work, so I'm not all "dolled up" like them, and they treat you with utter disrespect unless you are. Seriously it felt like the "Pretty Woman shopping experience with Julia Roberts..." Don't even try to get a sincere answer out of them, they are only looking at you as a sale and want you to buy as much as possible, regardless of if it's what you're looking for or if it will help you at all. The majority of the girls don't know what they're talking about though they put it off like they do. Do yourself a favor and go to a professional spa to buy these products. You will have an actual professional explaining the products to you...not just some pretty girl who took an afterschool makeup class. read more

I needed foundation and didn't feel like making the trip to Inland Center so figured I'd try out Sephora. First, I thought they carried Clinique and this Sephora does not. I was disappointed but at that point still willing to make a purchase and try out a new brand. Problem was I couldn't get anyone to help me for the life of me. Not even an acknowledgment. Granted is was a bit busy but a little nod and an "We'll be right with you" goes a long way. And I couldn't even figure out how to get someones attention. The employees all had these airs about them. They avoided eye contact and to complicate the process there was no logical place to stand to wait to get some assistance. I ended up walking out after about 15 minutes empty handed. I would never recommend anyone go there. I much prefer the Clinique counter at Macy's where they are helpful, attentive and not on some crazy power trip. In my opinion, the kids that work at Sephora would do well to have a little attitude adjustment. read more

I always shop at this Sephora and do curbside pick up. Well today I placed a large order over $200 and I received an email saying call for curbside pick up. And I called for curbside pick up and I asked the girl if they're doing it and she says I don't know with attitude and I said OK well I was wondering if I could get curbside pick up she says we don't offer it and I'm like OK well I can't come inside... So she got silent and said well we don't offer it right now I said OK can you cancel my order no she replied with attitude we can't you have to do it yourself I said okay then and hung up. I have mixed feelings about this location. This is the closest Sephora near me, and I hate the fact the employees I've encountered is giving this location's customer service a bad rep. If you shop at Sephora often, in store or online, you know their return policy is pretty generous with the purchase dates. This girl working there decides to tell me there's a "45 days" return policy, and I wasn't allowed to return my item, also because "she" can see the bottom of the product as empty. FIRST OFF: the receipt clearly states the return policies. I don't need your bs attitude to tell me something that's already written on paper. SECOND: She was also really rude when she told me to go return at a free standing locations. Obviously, I came here for convenience. If I wanted to drive to Victoria Gardens or Tyler Mall, I would've went and didn't have to put up with you snotty face. Unfortunately, after that incident, I did not wish to return here again but had to. The 2nd return was more smooth but still questionable. I mentioned the return and experience above to this employee, regardless me saying "on a different return", he kept grabbing the current receipt, even when I kept saying "NOT this return". He brings me the manager to explain what happened. As I was talking, the manager looked almost as if she was spacing out, looking else where. She as well kept grabbing my current receipt. I had zero intentions of spending as much money as I spent here... But, in all honesty, I needed everything I bought and I got a complete face makeover. So I don't feel too bad. Customer service is spotty, one sales associate was a bit aloof. But, the lovely girl who did my makeup was awesome! Her name is Amanda C. Remember the C. because there are three Amanda's who work here. She did a great job on my face. She took her time and explained her process to me. Normally, makeup freaks me out; but she made it fun. I didn't like that the staff didn't offer me any samples, so of course I forgot to ask for a few. Also, their selection is limited. Customer service here is always hot and cold. This is my least favorite sephora. Sadly it's the closest to me. The girls are horrible at matching makeup and don't actually try to use the little handheld color finder to match someone's makeup. They use a little q-tip to try to match your makeup. I can do that myself. I try to go to the rancho one whenever I'm in the area. Hopefully they'll be building a sephora in the Inland center jcpenny. read more

I have been coming to this place for years and today I had the best experience from Alisa! She was so patient with me! I always have a hard time with foundation and she was able to color match me after so may attempts. SHe even took that extra step and went outside with me to make sure it matched in the sun. While going to spend my birthday at my moms for the weekend I realized I forgot my makeup bag at home. I was headed to Target to get some drugstore makeup to hold me over when I noticed the Sephora sign across the street. The girl that assisted me was awesome! She helped me to find some travel size products and then suggested a foundation for my oily skin and color matched me. I wasn't too sure about the foundation so she gave me a very generous sample. I ended up getting some moisturizer and eyeliner. The sample foundation ended up lasted me over a week. I was a regular Ulta shopper but once I discovered how knowledgeable the Sephora employees are and that I could sample the products at Sephora prior to buying them I'll never go through the hassle of buying and returning until I find the right color at Ulta. I would have given 2 stars but the fact that they made me a sample to take I gave them one extra star because I loved the product. So I have never asked for samples in my life. I always felt bad especially if I don't buy anything. I was looking for a new skincare line so I asked one of the girls if she could make me a sample to test it out at home. She said I was only allowed to choose three products. Then she went talking about how she uses the product but likes a different brand. I got a little confused, does she really use the product or trying to sell. Because she already made me a sample and it's not like I can ask her to change it. Anyways this all happened after waiting to be helped and not getting any acknowledgement. There were three girls helping one customer! And non of them helped me. I asked for help and one of the other girls told me she would after she finished with her other customer. (Of course she forgot) It seems like this happens a lot here. My friend and I like to go to the sephora in Victoria gardens! They are always helpful and always asks if you need help with out me having to ask. Anyways back to the samples. Even though the jars are small, you can use it morning and night for about two days so in total that four applications. I went to this location because online it said that a new product was in stock. I went there and the girl without even looking she said they didnt have it. Then I said this system updates like every 3 hours. Then she was trying to say that it didn't. It went back and forth, for a little and there's two drawers to opened and she didn't bother to open it . She was like I looked at this drawer 2 days ago and it wasn't there.
