This candy shop is a throwback in time. It was quaint with so much decor for one's eyes to enjoy. I…read morehave been here before for the candy & recommend it as a treat to yourself or as a gift. Chocolate I have eaten was creamy & delicious. This time I wanted to try a sandwich. Glad I did because it was fresh & delicious. I ordered a Build-A-Sandwich & you will see in my picture how fresh & well stacked it was. Sandwiches come with chips. I also ordered a Village Mango ice tea which topped off the meal. It was refreshing with the splash of pineapple & mango pieces being a treat at the end of the drink. The 2-workers were very friendly & served me within 5-minutes after I filled out my sandwich order. Of course I got some chocolate to go but I gotta try the peanut brittle next time.

Was craving a good cookie while downtown. Stopped in and they had a special buy 3 get 1 free. Got 2…read morepeanut butter, chocolate chip, and a sugar. Also got a pecan popcorn bag and some white chocolate over honeycomb. Everything tasted like it was from the 10-day old bakery. All the cookies were stale, hard, and lacked flavor. The popcorn was chewy and also lacked flavor. The white chocolate honeycomb was hard and just not good. Every item we bought couldn't be finished because it was stale and just plain unappetizing. We ended up throwing everything out. So disappointing. Had to go to Cookie Crumble to satisfy the craving. Was trying to keep it local without going to a chain, but there was no comparison. Do better Village Candy. We want to support our local businesses but the quality has to be there.

I always appreciate a business that allows you to sample food products before purchasing. They are a chocolatier, where they make their own chocolates on site. As you walk by the store front, you can see the chocolate being made. They seem to specialize in single origin and specialty chocolate bars. Additionally, they sell truffles and a few other products. If you are a chocoholic like me, you're like going to not want to rush while here. They do have odd hours, and close at 5:00 PM. Good idea to call ahead and make sure they are open. I like fact they are open on Sundays. The lady that helped was very helpful. I plan on returning when I'm in the area.

I only got to visit them during early Pandemic (2020/2021) so I'm not sure if they started back up/do samplings any more. If I'm looking for a nice gift that represents local goods, Parliament is the spot I like to go. Their single origin chocolate bars are available at a few local spots like Gerrard's. If I could wish a cool unique experience pop up in Redlands, it would be the addition of a chocolate tasting experience here at Parliament, that not only teaches people of the process of chocolate making but the art of chocolate tasting like wine tasting.

Of late, we have moved more to sugar free chocolates than sugary treats, now including Sugar Free Chocolate and Butterscotch Lollypops as stocking stuffers. But we still give each other a sugary See's Chocolate Santa on Christmas Day, as well. No sugar free version of St. Nick is created, but a few changes to Santa's appearance are made year to year. For example, the 2025 Chocolate Santa wears glasses and looks older than the 2016 model. (See pics that follow.) Store personnel were friendly and helpful. But after receiving no free sample for the first time ever, I asked why no chocolate sample was offered to me as I paid for our purchases, and a staff member apologized, saying that she was responsible for not yet refilling available samples for customers, and immediately scrambled to do so, offering me my choice of chocolate treats. I opted for a piece of a Sugar Free Milk Chocolate Bar, and, biting down on it, observed that its velvety texture yielded a rich and sweet chocolate flavor with no hint that this product was sugar free. This store was pretty well packed with inventory and patrons, but it was already out of Sugar Free Peanut Brittle, which I would have liked to have purchased for ourselves. Perhaps I will return later to see if any restocking occurred. As a word to the wise: It is better to come here sooner in December rather than later. Close to Christmas this small store is filled with customers in weaving lines, and supplies of even the least desired items often run out. See's fine products are worth waiting for, and recipients will appreciate receiving them. But why not avoid extra aggravation by beating the Christmas rush?
