This review is based on the employees and not the store it self. I have been in the store a handful of times and the employees don't seem to want to help anyone. They avoid making eye contact and wait for you to come to them. The other day I was there from the time I arrived till I left there was three employees trying to figure out something about a top on one of the registers. When I go to wait in line to be rung up no one seems to be helping the girl in front of me even tho there are 5 girls behind the counter. 3 on one register looking at the top and 2 other pretending to be busy. After 10 minutes of waiting and three more customers waiting behind me someone finally asks the girl in front of me if she is being helped. I guess who ever was took off and never came back. 5 minutes later I am being rung up and my purchase was suppose to be put on my beauty insider account but I checked today and it wasn't. This Sephora needs to get it together! Oh yeah, the top that took 3 girls to look up ended up being for one of them! Not a customer, them! They even dragged a JC penny associate over to try to figure out I guess the price. I am officially done with this store for that! read more

I had to simmer down to write this review. I have been in the BAD habit of running here because it is 10 minutes from my house. Today was the final time. I will not visit this location again. Let me list my problems from today: 1. This morning I checked for availability for products online, they were in stock. At the store I was told they didn't get them yet. I wandered for half an hour and found both products (one displayed in two areas, the other on it's own "new" display showcase) 2. The testers are filthy. 3. Asking for a sample is met with a bigger drama factor than needed. Sorry for making you do your job. Not to be super Kanye, but I am a rouge VIB and if I want a damned sample help a girl out. I spend too much money there a year as it is. 4. The customers here. I know they are not part of the business, but it is the responsibility to the staff to keep children from eating lipstick testers, drawing with eye pencils on the floor and generally running amuck. Take some control and have some pride people! Long story short, I have been being lazy and going to this far inferior janky bootleg feeling Sephora. It does not deserve to have this company's name. They are out of many things, the store is ravaged and new stock is sitting in the backstock. Employees are clueless about beauty products and especially skin care. Save yourself. Make the trip to Victoria Gardens where they are well staffed. * There is one employee here who is helpful. He is one of the guys. Has a beard. Kind of short. He always has more than one suggestion. I went into Sephora today so that I could purchase my favorite hydration cream. I got so lucky and had Amanda help me out. She was incredibly helpful, she was very knowledgeable with the products that she was recommending and she made every effort to give her own experience with the products. I had went here once before and they were very helpful and caring but I had went again a few days later and not one person came up to me to ask what I needed and it seriously took around 20 mins and I had to go up to them. Their customer service just isn't very good. My advice is to just work on that. Us girls want to feel like were friends. And also feel helped. It makes me not want to go again. read more

Pretty sad little Sephora. If I had another location nearby, I'd never go back. Sales staff are unfriendly IF you can even get them to stop talking to each other long enough to help you. ...and please don't make them look up your insider account info - that's just too much work! This place has the worse service. I can't speak for all employees but I went last night and for some reason no one did eye contact. They would talk to me still interacting with another coworker. I wanted to get there names but some of the girls didn't have name tags. I asked an employee who was cleaning up an area if she could match me. I explained to her I wanted to buy a foundations online. She never responded back, and started walking towards the color IQ device. She started matching me and didn't say a word, from me asking the questions and getting my IQ number. (Usually, people small talk to make some feel comfortable)When she game me the IQ number, I had to ask her to email it to me and she seemed bothered. This Sephora is inside a JC Penny's and has a limited selection but it'll do in a pinch. It's about a fourth the size of the usual freestanding Sephora stores so there's a pretty good chance that you won't be able to restock your favorite stuff. I haven't had a bad experience with the sales girls like other reviewers have but it is crazy busy in here. If you need to return something, you probably won't be able to at a regular Sephora store. Very rude staff I forgot my ID inside came back in front of the store to pick it up the next day I called to ask if it's ok for any of their staff members to come out to me because my 1 year old and 2 year old were sick and sleeping in the car they refused to help me ! The closest Sephora to where I live so I have been there a few times. Not one time have I had good costumer service. The last time was the first time I was approached by a lady to work there (I needed help so I appreciatted it), they were not busy so while she helped me she decided to have a personal conversation with another worker....it made me feel unconfortable. I dislike going to this Sephora location so mich I rather do a long drive to Montclair mall , they are always great there. The worst Sephora I've ever been too. I usually don't mind when a customer service employee is rude because I've worked retail my whole working life and understand it gets hard. However, the employees I've encountered at this location are beyond rude! They are condescending and act like you're bothering them to do anything. All I wanted to do was a return and they tried to make me take store credit cause the only manager was on lunch and they needed her override or I could wait an hour??? I told them I'd just go to another Sephora if it's that much of an issue and then the manager gave her, her credentials to do it over the phone. I have only shopped at this Sephora location a handful of times because there is no other location near Redlands. The selection of products is sad. Okay sure it's not a real stand alone store but come on. And ever since Ulta opened up down the street, I've noticed that this Sephora's customer service is poor. The employees here have this "I'm an A-list celebrity makeup artist and cannot be bothered to help you" attitude. Also, Ulta has a wider price range of products. So glad Ulta made me mad and I came into this Sephora in JCPennys!!! I met Olivia!!! She was so helpful and wanted to excitedly show up some products she thought we would like and then we found out she worked for the benefit brow bar and she did the most amazing brow job I have ever had, and then helped fix a botched job that my friend had gotten. My sister was also there and fell in love with Olivia!! She not only had the coolest personality but she was a great product specialist and brow bar employee. I will be returning to her forever now... she gained 3 people over a convo on lipstick turned into a full blown 400 (between all of us who needed everything she suggested and showed us) shopping trip and amazing brow service for 2 out of 3 of us. And scheduled brow bar appt for all 3 of us at the end of the month! Loved loved loved and she was a perfectionist so every hair was perfectly plucked waxed and trimmed to end up with the most amazing brows!!! And it's benefit! The real one!! Not the fake ulta one!! But then the cashier completely left the register for well over 5 minutes to help someone else (she was the only one up there!). I went in today on the last day to use the $15 off coupon and it was SO BUSY! I already knew what I wanted to purchase, translucent powder by Laura Mercier and an Anastasia Beverly Hills glow kit. I haven't had any luck with purchasing the powder anywhere because it's THEE powder of the moment, so I wasn't really surprised to see there weren't any on the shelf. As I mentioned it was super busy, the line was wrapped around the aisles and there were so many people it was hard even just getting around the store; what surprised me was despite the busyness I was still approached by two sales girls offering to help. I wish I would've gotten their names! One girl had platinum blonde hair and the other had dark, naturally curly hair. Both girls were so pleasant, patient and knowledgeable. They helped me find the powder I was looking for and when the extra mile to look for the glow ki. The particular kit I wanted was sold out so I ended up buying the powder and a Too Faced primer, per the girls' recommendations. This Sephora NEVER has anything I need. They are always out of stock. Definitely call before you go in because most likely you'll be wasting your time. Try a different location until they get their ordering under control. So frustrating. I got home and attempted to order my makeup online (the lady told me they wouldn't charge shipping and there was a long line so I was advised to do it at home because it's the same price) and they do. So I called back and told them the situation and the girl who picked up said "well if you wld have ordered it in the store you wouldn't get charged shipping" I just about lost it. Just wanted to give a shout out to the employees working at this location on 11/4/19. I was in there with my sister in law around 7:30ish pm. The girls provided awesome customer service. They helped us get the better deals on holiday sets instead of single items. They were very knowledgeable and helpful with each other as well. As a store manager myself I know when great customer service is provided and also when there is team work involved. Keisha helped us out on the sales floor and Shy checked us out on the register. Loraine and Keisha helped out Shy as she was ringing us up to go get the holiday sets from the items we were purchasing. We walked out of there with a $300 plus sale. They offered us all the rewards and promotions available as well. It's been a long while that we have shopped at this location, we had just walked in there to look in the first place. My experience with Sephora began really shaky I called in advance to make an appointment to get my makeup done. To begin, getting someone to answer the phone is already a mission and when they do answer they put you in hold until an automated operator comes in and says to call back at a later time. I probably called 20 times (this is me low balling) it was probably many more times. I finally get someone to talk to me and they said it was way too soon to schedule my appointment (i called around May 20th and I need it my appointment for June 18th) which I totally understood they said to call back June 1st. June 1st comes around and they said it was still too soon (also called about 10 times before I can get hold of someone and not get put on hold) so they said to call back June 5th (the same thing called about 10 times before I got to speak to someone and not get put on hold) so i called June 5th and they said it was still too soon and to call back June 8th by this time I am starting to get frustrated so I start looking at other places but everyone else around my area was booked already so had no other choice but to wait until June 8th. I called June 8th right when they opened just to hear that they were fully booked! I was so pissed because I kept calling them and they would say it was too soon, I didn't schedule with anyone else because I was relying on them and just to hear they were booked for days already! The young lady that helped me probably heard my frustration over the phone. I was not rude at all although all I wanted to do was curse her out. She offered to talk to her manager and see what they can do about it. The next day I get a voicemail from Marlene the manager saying that she will accomodate me that was music to my ears! I was so happy to hear that I immediately called and scheduled my appointment. I appreciate that they took manners into handling my situation. I do have a constructive criticism for them, they really need to work together as a team and know what's going on with scheduling and although I deeply appreciate that Marlene took the time to call me and schedule an appointment an apology would have been even greater. Now let's get to the day of my appointment. I must admit I arrived late traffic in Redlands is just ridiculous now so I take responsibiliy but I did not appreciate waiting for 20 minutes. The point of making an appointment is to be taken care of one of the things they always talk about is they help appointments first yet they were ignoring me helping a walk in. I told myself that's what you get for arriving late but hey I can wait 5 minutes or even 10 but 20 minutes that's ridiculous. Finally Sara began working on me she was amazing! I received so many compliments from everyone at the wedding, she did exactly what I wanted and took really good care of me. I have mixed emotions about the ratings because to me everything deserves different ratings. Overall I do thank eveyone for trying their best. read more

This is one of those Sephora's where the employees don't know how to use makeup on themselves lol I can't trust my face with someone who doesn't know how to wear flattering makeup when you have all the tools for success in your workplace. They show frustration, and make it clear that it's not fun for them to press extra register buttons to get our money back. Employees: you do not own the store. You are not losing any money by refunding us. Just do your job. So beware.. They will try to pull authority on you and give you excuses as to why they can't make returns. Just wait it out.. She made me feel comfortable and the results came out great. She even took extra time to help me find a foundation for my complexion type afterwards. I live in redlands and have visited this store four times. I have been to this Sephora 4 Times. The first 2 times, nobody bothered to help us or ask us if we needed anything and when we went up to them, they continued their personal conversation before helping us. Third time was good. I wish I remembered her name but, she was super helpful. Then today, we stand in line for 45 minutes to return a gift my daughter was given and was told by the cashier that we have to return it to a Sephora store. I'm like um, this is Sephora. She meant a store not inside another store. To avoid causing a scene that would require police escort, I simply walked away. Went outside and called the Sephora customer service line. According to them, you can return it there but, they cannot give you store credit, only jcpenney credit or an even exchange. Apparently that was too many words for this dumb and lazy cashier to say so she never even offered that option. 3 strikes and your out Sephora! I'll stick to Ulta where the prices are cheaper and everyone is helpful! read more
