Overall this is one of my go-to locations for them. Staff is usually friendly, and assists me with my needs. Today they helped my aunt with color correcting, and she was amazed by how good it looked. Considering how self conscious she had become over the area corrected, it was wonderful that they were able to assist her where I couldn't (we have two completely different melanin contents, and she is an east coaster so we don't see each other often). I made a brow appointment with Cynthia of Benefit Brow Bar fame, and was not disappointed. I feel my brows are the best they've ever been, and what's more she *showed* me exactly what she was doing, offered me options along the way, and actually trained me. Now (with a bit of practice) I will be able to duplicate today's great results. What's more, I had a blast. It was plain old fun, not just Cynthia but the other employees were exceptionally friendly and even the other customers were fun. I ended up spending significantly more than planned, and had a good time doing it. First time at this specific location and Aura approached me within 5 minutes of be being in the store. I noticed 2 other associates talking amongst themselves with me next to them and never approached me before Aura. Aura, already working with a customer, greeted me and returned to me once she was finished with her prior customer. I ended up getting an eyebrow wax. She took her time with me and made me feel like I was the only person important to her at that time. Olivia at the Benefit Brow Bar is amazing! I won't let anyone else touch my brows. She is friendly and patient and takes time to answer questions. She has done my brows three times now. I had some issues with my brows prior to going to Olivia-they had been over waxed and the "tails" needed to be filled in. She "diagnosed" my problem and my brows have been growing back/filling in really nicely! She offers product advice but she isn't pushy. Shes great! read more

RUDE AF! Don't COME HERE! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME IM SERRIOUS! The idiots that work here think they know it all and give you attitude if you take there advice on what to buy. I was suppose to be helped and a lady told me to wait in the middle next to the mirrors and all of the girls standing there were looking at me and not helping me. I felt so uncomfortable I told a lady can she help me and she said okay hold on and never came I seen her walk around and then ask a girl if she needed help. I got looked up and down like I didn't belong there because I wasn't exactly all dressed up, I had no makeup and was in gym clothes but needed a new foundation because I was running low. The girl that "helped" me that told me I was wrong when I asked her about brushed and a beauty blender ended up ringing me up. I bought 4 items and she went from smiling at the girl infront of me to not even saying a word when she rung me up not to mention she didn't put my makeup in a bag she literally pushed it forward and yelled "NEXT!" I visit this store numerous times and encounter the same problems each time. The employees are rude and unhelpful. Today, I went there and three of the employees were busy applying make up on customers which left no other staff to assist or ring up other customers. I went up to ask for assistance which never got. Several other customers as well as myself just put are items back and walked out. They need to focus on improving customer service. The staff there are not knowledgeable about what they have in stock or what products/tools they carry; they also lie about their return policy. I asked if they carried a tool by Shu Uemura and the girl said yes. She walked me over to the displays where the brushes and tweezers are. Then she looked confused and said she thought they carried it but it looked like they don't. The staff give off this haughty air and they almost sneer when they talk to you; it doesn't make me want to buy anything there. Oh, and if you do buy something from Sephora.com with your JCPenney card, which is supposed to make things easier for JCPenney customers, the staff at Redlands Sephora inside JCPenney will straight up lie to my face and say that they cannot do any returns or exchanges there; and because I purchased it online and paid for it with my JCPenney card, I have to go to a stand-alone Sephora. I called corporate, stand-alone Sephora stores, as well as other Sephor inside JCPenney stores. I learned that the staff at Redlands straight up lied to me so that they don't take any returns and get dinged for the return. They forced me to go to another Sephora inside JCPenney half an hour away, and after multiple trips to other stores, some very friendly and patient staff at another Sephora inside JCPenney was able to handle my exchanges. Unbelievable. I will not be buying ANYTHING from the sneering staff at Sephora inside JCPenney in Redlands. Ever. read more

This place needs new management! The employees are rude and very unhelpful. Many items were not stocked and areas were dirty with used tissues everywhere. The little trash areas were full. There were several employees there applying makeup on guest but had no one on the floor to help the actually the purchasing customers. I was standing in line to be checked out and after 15 minutes with no assistance, I ended leaving my items behind and walked out. My purchase would of been over a $150.00. I thought enlarging the store that Sephora would have more items in stock as well as better trained people. I was wrong. I am actually yelping this review from the parking lot right now. I am soooooo DONE with this store. Not all Sephoras in general, just THIS store. What the hell is up with this location? I come in here all the time as it is right next door to my work. They are ALWAYS out of stock in everything. I needed a powder that the store was OF COURSE out of stock of so I made the mistake of ordering it over the phone at the store and I never received the product because the idiot on the other line forgot to put my apartment number in the address line even though I told him 3 times and had him repeat it back to me. That turned into a whole 3 week fiasco with me calling back and forth & speaking with rude ghetto phone operators. in the end, I never received the product and when I spoke to a manager, there was nothing she could do to help me. No discount. No free samples. NOTHING AT ALL even though it was her employees fault. Thanks a lot Sephora. Way to treat your customers who spend hundreds/thousands of dollars a year on your insanely overpriced products. Anyways, back to this specific store. I just left, it's 5:15 PM on Thursday April 14. I walked into the store to find a shade of powder that matched me better than the one i previously bought from here. The store wasn't THAT busy at all. I'm standing there for a good 10 minutes at the Kat Von D counter looking confused and testing about 5 different powders on my arm. In that time frame I saw about 5 girls working there. Nobody said hi, hello, or we'll be right you. Nobody even acknowledged me. Nobody asked if I needed any help (I did) so I said FUCK IT and put down what I was about to buy and left. This happens ALL of the time at this location. Last week I encountered a rude female employee at the register who snatched my product from my hands then slammed it onto the counter to ring it up and then got snotty because I POLITELY declined her offer to sign up for a stupid JC penny's credit card. The product was a delicate compact powder by the way. Those break easily. She then turned to her other coworker and said loudly for all the hear "GOD I DO NOT WANT TO BE UP FRONT!!!" all snotty. Go home then lady, you are working in retail, OF COURSE the store is going to be busy at 5PM on a weekday when woman are just getting off work. Find a job working on an island in a cave or something if you don't want to deal with people. and the RARE times that you CAN get an employee to help you, they are not very knowledgeable about the products they sell. i can't expect them to know about EVERY single product in their own store because there are thousands, but they give me this deer in the headlights look when i tell them i would like to try a new liquid foundation and would like a color match. as if that is some crazy out of this world request. EVERY single time they have "color matched" me, it turns out looking awful. they end up giving me samples of orange concoctions which make me look like an umpa lumpa. they need some formal training on how to properly color match and listen to customers wants and needs when it comes to how the CUSTOMER prefers their makeup to look. i've even TOLD them which foundation i've been using for years that's a good color match for me (makeup forever HD liquid in 117) and i TELL them i have fair skin with yellow undertones, but yet SOMEHOW i always end up with shades that are clearly meant for somebody tan so i look orange or i'll end up with shades that are clearly made for a person with pink undertones. sometimes they will look "OKAY" in the store, but once you get out to your car in the parking lot and check the mirror, it's like DAMNNNN WTF?!!! so i've just completely given up on asking for their help when it comes to color matching. *sigh* THANK GOODNESS they have a wonderful return policy and have always accommodated me with no questions asked. I could go on and on with stories about this place but I'll just stop there. Because after today and not being acknowledged for 10 minutes straight I will not be back. Shame because I spend a decent amount of money here. I will be going to Ulta and other Sephora locations where I will be treated like a human being with some RESPECT. God i HATE this store. Corporate really needs to step in and figure this mess out because this location makes the whole company look terrible. I must say though, the male working here with the dark hair and CYNTHIA at the benefit brow bar are both awesome! The man working the front is always patient and kind even when it's slammed. Props to him. And Cynthia is very good at her job and does killer eyebrows. She also does not try to pressure you into buying any Benefit products or anything that you wouldn't want or need and that's awesome. She's just a nice person with skills. Not pushy or over the top. I have been going to Cynthia for almost 2 years now. Before I found her on yelp I was going to the benefit inside of Ulta at Victoria gardens. The girl who was doing my eyebrows jacked them up. I suspected she was doing it on purpose because the shape and everything was fine but they started way farther back than they should have. And I know that benefit teaches you were an eyebrow is meant to start. I didn't notice it at first because it was little by little but now that I'm with cynthia you can see the damage she did. There are certain spots that cynthia won't wax to ensure regrowth and after almost 2 years there are still parts that won't grow back. The beginning of my eyebrows have started growing back but they aren't nearly as full as the rest so from far away it does look sparse. She's also made both my arches even and just overall my eyebrows look so much better! I love going to her! I drive 30 miles out of the way to go see her. She is that amazing! She's super understanding when you have a last second thing come up and is really good at getting you another appointment. Go to cynthia you won't be disappointed!! read more

I've been to this Sephora a number of times and have always had great service. The sales associates have always been attentive and polite. I understand this is not one of the bigger stores and they may not have everything, but the essentials are all there. Every time I have been there, the store was clean and stocked. Such a long wait every time I come in here. There are always at minimum 6 workers on the sales floor. But one at the registers. Makes no sense they work so hard to sell you products but don't care to get customers out of line at a decent pace. And the one register worker answers phones as well. It's poor customer service. I came here to get two samples of the UD All Nighter foundation and left there with only one. The lady that I asked for help told me she was only going to give me one sample. When I asked if they're only allowed to give out one sample per customer she replied "No, I work with a brand not the company so I'm just doing this for you real quick." I assume she works for the brand benefit because she had a pink benefit work belt around her waist. I was a little disappointed... I didn't know I was such an inconvenience to her. Then when you ask for assistance either they pass the buck to someone else or they do not look happy to help you. Mandie helped me locate the powder that I needed and then listened as I explained what I was looking for in a fragrance. She offered a few suggestions and then when we had found a couple that I liked, she offered me samples of them so that I could take them home and wear them a couple of days to be sure I had the right scent for me. I was in a wedding and could not afford to hire a make-up/hair stylist to come to my house like the rest of the wedding party. I heard about getting a free full-face make-up at Sephora at the JC Penny in Redlands, provided that you buy $50 worth of make-up. I visited and gladly met with Sarah (make-up expert). I told her my situation and she also referred me to Elizabeth (hairstylist expert), who worked at the same location in the JC Penney Salon. The day of the wedding, I got my hair done by Elizabeth and then make-up with Sarah. Suffice it to say, I looked and felt amazing after the two wonderful experts did my hair and make-up. I am forever grateful to Sarah and Elizabeth for the miracle they did on me. I got so many compliments at the wedding. One lady even said I looked like a Barbie Doll :). The pictures and memories will last a lifetime, all in great part to my wonderful experience with Sarah and Elizabeth. I wholeheartedly recommend both of these excellent ladies for hair and make-up. read more
