The staff is amazing and very friendly and courteous. The only thing is if your appointment is on Tuesday that's usually the day that Dr Elman follows up with patients that had surgery so you may not want to make your appointment on those days if you are just coming in for a regular checkup because there could be just a tad bit of a wait. Other than that I love coming here doctor Elman it's really excellent. If I had to have surgery again in my eye I would definitely trust Dr Ellen to do it.

They regularly interrupt me while I'm speaking on the phone, use an outright disrespectful tone, and place me on hold for 10 minutes or more almost every time I call. Insurance and billing communication is a mess. No one at the front desk seems to understand insurance coverage or pricing, and I was given incorrect cost estimates for both a 6-month and 1-year supply of contacts. It took roughly seven phone calls just to get accurate information, which is completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, my last two eye exams resulted in incorrect prescriptions. I continued to see blurry even while wearing the prescribed contacts, which meant unnecessary follow-up visits and wasted time. The doctors themselves are patient and pleasant, but the front desk staff and administrative disorganization overshadow any positive aspects of this practice. I truly hope administration seriously retrains their staff on professionalism, patience, and appropriate tone when speaking with patients, because as it stands, this experience is not one I would recommend.

My husband showed up for his appointment, and it was with a completely new doctor he'd never met. Now, it seems Dr. Betancourt is gone -- also ZERO communication to patients. It also appears the practice has been sold, as they are now going by the name "Horizon Eye Physicians." When a medical practice is sold, there should be a state law that patients are informed.
