The services and a year of contacts was $600. I went back the next year to get glasses. The doctor is very nice and very good. I told him about my contacts and he told me to let him check them. Twice, we raised the prescription. Then, we got the right fit and I had to pay for the exam and the contacts again. I was given a discount and I appreciate that however, I felt that I should have gotten my money back for the unopened boxes of contacts that I could not use. The answer was no. I had no use for them so I gave them back to the doctor for his use. No money for them. Just a thank you. Of course! Free contacts! So, I would say this... the doctor made an error and he did not refund me for that error. Then, when I ordered another box of the corrected prescription, I was given a discount. Unfortunately, the contacts came back WRONG again. The office ordered the same incorrect contacts that I already had. So I gave them back and they got me the right ones. All in all, there were mistakes that I consider relevant to my rating- could have been better. I would not recommend this outfit although the doctor has all the best machines and is very knowledgeable. If he makes a mistake, he will not give you your money back. But even more unreasonable than that, the women that I spoke to about the problem and appealed to them to compensate me somehow- were truly not interested in helping me out. The expense of the glasses was $600.00. The contacts totaled $750.00. Truly too expensive if they are not going to care about their mistakes.

My wait time my short, my exam was quick, but incredibly insightful. I honestly felt like the doctor understood my eyes and my vision more after 10 minutes than my previous doctor had after 10 years. I then had the opportunity to pick out a new set of glasses frames, and after seeing the style I gravitated toward, the associate picket out the perfect frames for me. She simply nailed it on the first try. After just a few minutes, my new lenses were ordered and I was on my way. I am looking forward to my new glasses, and I highly recommend this team. I am deathly scared of eye doctors and do not like my eyes being messed with. It's a losing battle for anyone to get drops in my eyes or even do the required test for glaucoma and other required checks but he seems to do it every time. He works with me, takes his time and explains everything before he does it so I know what to expect. Every other eye doctor I've been to has never been able to do many of the test that involves holding my eyes open but he gets it done. This is my third visit to Dr. Miller and I will not be going anywhere else.

Amblyopia (Lazy Eye) is genetically on both sides of the family. Dr. Miller provided an early diagnosis and treatment plan for one of our daughters at a very early age enabling us to assist her in training the 'lazy eye' to remain centered and to focus properly so the eyes could work together and improve her depth perception. He scheduled surgery for me. I decided to go back to Dr. Barr to examine my eyes to evaluate my condition. He told me there was a tiny cataract and my vision was almost 20/20. He said you will not live long enough to need a cateract operation. I then went to another opthalmologist who said, You do not need cateract surgery. Your vision is almost 20/20. Besides being a great doctor he could not be nicer. My husband feels the same way. We have been going to him for over 10 years. Further his office assistants are lovely and very helpful.

Terrible communication…read more I had been seeing Dr. Spagnolo for years, and the practice never informed me that he left. My husband showed up for his appointment, and it was with a completely new doctor he'd never met. Now, it seems Dr. Betancourt is gone -- also ZERO communication to patients. It also appears the practice has been sold, as they are now going by the name "Horizon Eye Physicians." When a medical practice is sold, there should be a state law that patients are informed. I'm definitely in the market for a new ophthalmology practice. (No idea why my profile is showing as San Francisco, as I am in Maryland.)
