I've been here before and definitely needed an updated prescription. I started by trying the online scheduler but when I received no response after several days, I called to make an appointment. I was scheduled and then got a confirmation for a different day. As it happened the different day was better. I then got a call about the "missed" appointment. It did get cleared up and I went on the second appointment. The new building is very pretty and there is much more space. They were very busy. I saw Dr. Brian Woolf. He was prompt and worked through my options quickly. He's very casual which is fine with me. I was then quickly processed to pick out my new glasses and should have them in a week or so. I appreciate not being pushed to buy more than I needed. I think the pricing was appropriate. The room is open and echoes a lot. They might want to turn down the volume on the music. Our beloved eye doctor of many, many years retired and we were just devastated! It's very hard to find someone that not only do you like and is reasonable. While we have insurance for our vision, we have been disappointed with a few and naturally it soured us. So when we had to find another doctor, both my husband and I were a little anxious. I did some research and found a few people here and there that would work for us. I let my hubby select and he picked Woolf & Woolf. What was nice is they have Saturday hours. My hubby and I work different times, so going on Saturday was very helpful to us. We loved the fact we didn't have to go through the traditional eye dilation....it always has wasted half the day for us because you get so tired after it, not to mention that it always seems like it's the brightest day here on Earth after you have it done!! =P They did a map of our eye and we had all the other traditional eye tests. Loved our new doctor, Dr. Goldberg. She's very friendly and personable.....an asset to the Woolf business for sure. Once she had us squared away, we went to pick our frames and get then fitted for our lenses. All very through. During the time we were picking everything out, we were told we would receive texts when our glasses came in which we did. All fairly quick and decently priced! We are very happy with our first experience and will continue to use Woolf & Woolf as our eye doctors! :) read more

Woolf Eye Lab is terrific! They are all so friendly, prompt and professional. I was comfortable from the beginning - feeling like I'd know the doctor for years. And so patient when trying on glasses, explaining the types of glass, ranges, frames and what works on your face. I'm uncomfortable with the mirror and people looking closely at me, so this process is difficult. Because they encouraged me to take my time and kept selecting more and more to try on, we found the perfect pair. And, the office is lovely - very spacious! Highly recommended! read more

This is my third time going to this practice. I Typically go for an annual visit. My previous visits were positive. I usually see Dr Brian Woolf but he did not have an appointment time available that I was looking for. I made an appointment with Dr Goldberg (I can't even find her on their website). On the day of my appointment, I entered the practice at my scheduled time. They took my temp and seemed to follow all the Covid precautions. I was asked to verify my info and sign a paper. There were pens sitting in front of me and I took one. When I looked up to see where to return the dirty pens, I had taken the pen from the dirty pile but the sign was turned towards the desk. I was a little aggravated, was told it was ok to use a dirty pen and was then directed to hand sanitizer. While this was minor, I think it set the tone for the rest of the visit. My experience with the machines and the tech were fantastic. She was pleasant, the machines were clean and the process was quick. I was then escorted to Dr Goldberg's office. She was sitting at her desk without her mask on. She turned around and was curious as to where her mask was. It was on the floor but fortunately I had mine on and was at least 6ft away. Needless to say, who knows how long she had been in without mask. We started my appointment. We discussed that I was having some eye dryness periodically (1-2 times a month). She immediately went into wanting to put in duct plugs. I was just looking for a good eye drop recommendation. She continues to push me on the duct plugs and said they last only a year and they are usually $200 out of pocket after insurance. I just wanted drops!!!! She did finally give me a sample and recommendations, but not before the hard sell Then we did my eye exam. She asked if I needed glasses for distance. I had lasik and haven't worn glasses for distance since 06. I asked her if she thought I needed them and if my prescription had changed. Her response, well I guess you don't need them since your distance vision hasn't changed. Then we went onto my farsided vision. She asked if I needed to update my reader glasses. I politely stated, you tell me, you have my records in front of you, has my prescription changed. Her response, well no, it is the same. It appears I don't need glasses for distance nor close up. Then she asked if I needed blue blocker glasses. I again said, you have my records and I believe the glasses I got last year have blue blocker in them. I was so aggravated that this Dr continually wanted to push a hard sell for surgery and glasses that I did not need. Dr Woolf would suggest sunglasses but nothing like this. When I was sent to be checked out, I was informed there is now a $15 tech fee for use of the machines to measure eyes etc. These machines are standard in all eye practices. I am sure they are trying to help pay off the building with this new fee, but seriously. I was told the fee was a one time so "if" I had to come in for another visit within a year, I wouldn't have to pay. Seriously!!! I am just disappointed by the hard sell from this Dr, her lack of reviewing my chart to really see what I needed versus trying to sell me on everything I did not need, and the nickel and dining. Your building is beautiful, but I don't think I can return to this practice knowing my best interests are behind getting money out of me first. read more

I had a very interesting experience here today............I stopped by here when I saw all their signs.........Optician............Eye Lab...............etc etc. I thought brilliant ...this definitly looks like a place that might be able to repair my glass frame........one of the arms had popped off. Well after spending 2 minutes reading all the signs posted outside...left to the Optician's offices/suites and right to the "Eye Lab" I took a right. What I walked into was like a HUGE Charlie's Chocolate Factory (or the Apple Store Mother Ship) for glasses (with dozens of employees in front of and behind the scenes) and I thought to myself "Great...............they are really going to know their glasses"! Well I left 2 minutes later (laughing so hard to myself) after being told that "O no we don't do glass repairs...............we just sell glasses"..................!! Wow! What a sign of the times. I guess I better just wait until I return to my good old-fashioned Optician in California who's staff still do simple repairs.............................Who knew frame sales could occupy such a HUGE "Lab"? read more

After spending over $600 dollars and having to take time out of my day for them to correct their wrongs is unbelievable. The ladies at this location are condescending. I had an eye exam at this place over a month ago and I am still waiting for my glasses. The first time I came to pick up my glasses the prescription was way too strong. Had to have another exam. The doctor apologized. OK no big deal I guess. so I go in to get the glasses a second time and the prescriptions way too strong again I said whatever y'all put on here just don't. I have my own glasses that I previously had and said just mimic that prescription. I go in a third time to pick up my glasses This week and the prescription is still way too strong and the guy I'm dealing with is like oh I know exactly what's wrong. I'm gonna take it off. OK I told you to take off all that extra stuff. No one has offered me a refund or an apology mind you I didn't even get a call to say that the glasses were ready. I had to keep calling And then they sent me an automated text. I requested for someone management to call me. No one has called me. I will never return to this place and I will never recommend them to anyone. I have been without correct vision for I don't know how long. I will attempt to have glasses this week if not I will be disputing all charges to my bank and reporting this location to the proper authorities read more

Don't go to dr Brian wolf eye lab in Pasadena, md. Diana is refusing to bill my eye insurance carrier even after she was told to by my eye insurance. This office has used the billing code of medical services. I came for routine check up and Diana is refusing to bill code of routine check up that starts with a 92 code not 99 code. The front desk female never asked me for my eye insurance membership number upon my arrival for a routine office visit. I had to have my eye insurance vsp representative call woolfs and give it to them. I have called the board of examiners of optometry and they told me to file a claim against Brian woolf. That I have a legitimate claim against woolfs. Diana refused to allow me to speak to Helen the office manager at Brian woolfs office. i will be filing a claim on Brian woolf's eye lab at board of examiners of optometry in Baltimore, md. I have considered this illegal billing practices of woolf in the state of md. i will be asking for an audit of billing practices of woolfs of the board of examiners of optometry. Other patients have complained on yelp of extra tech $15 fees not warranted. Hard cells of ducts that are not covered by insurance of $200 out of pocket expense. and so on. Pay attention to your bill here. read more

This has been a horrible experience and I've not had so much as an apology for what happened. I made an appointment late July for late August via the online booking system they sent me multiple times over email. The day before the appointment I called to confirm the time and was told that their online system actually doesn't work and they have nothing for it. She said the soonest they could get me in was over a week away. I made my appointment for when I did because that's when I would run out of contacts. Don't have an online booking system and sent multiple emails about it if it doesn't work. I asked if they could give me trial pairs to hold me over until my appointment. They said no because they don't know if my prescription changed. Are you kidding me?!? Your online system doesn't work and I'm the one who has to suffer?!? I called again about an hour later furious at 1pm and they were closed. I left a voicemail which not surprising, was not returned. During my appointment I was told by the doctor they were out of trial packs for my prescription so they would give me a similar prescription. Similar?!? How is that safe? After my appointment I was told they would be in at the latest the following week (Tuesday) but because I was having them shipped to the eye lab they would be in by the end of the week. The following Wednesday I call and was told they were not in. Keep in mind I am now 2 weeks without contacts. Today I call and was told "yeah they're in, they got in yesterday." I asked "why didn't you call or text like you guys do?" And she said "uhhh well they only got in yesterday." No excuse, I am paying a lot of money here to be treated like an absolute joke. Horrible management and I have yet to see an apology for as many awful things have happened. Coming in to get my contacts SO I CAN FINALLY SEE. But I promise to never ever return. read more

Originally went for an eye problem. Even though everyone was nice and the facility was clean all they wanted to do was sell me glasses. Then in the middle if my exam, the doctor went out and consulted a prior customer. He came back and said " That guy is a pain in the ass.' That was totally unprofessional to talj to one client about another client. Makes one wonder what is said when they leave. The office is setup in a circle where the exam starts near the receptionists and you proceed in a counter clockwise fashion after several stops at the eyeglass salesperson. At which point you are informed that you need to spend yet another $50.00. If you want overpriced glasses it may be the place to go. If you have orher eye problems I recommend going to someone who puts your concerns first and the sale of glasses last. read more

Make an appointment online that states I am a new patient for a routine annual exam. Arrive 20 minutes early and told that as I made an appointment online I am 'not in the system'. The online appointment required you enter your name, address, phone # and so on. What bloody system is that? As I was 'not in the system' they could not validate my insurance as it was Saturday. Dumbfounded person just stared at the monitor I guess in a hope it would tell them something. Waste of time. I left, now seeking a more capable and professional service. read more

I've seen both the Dr.s Woolf, and each gave me an excellent exam. The problem comes in when picking out frames and lenses. When the exam ends, the sales onslaught begins and they are Relentless!! I have never, in all the places I've lived (and I'm 68yrs old), seen such expensive asking prices for the same quality that can be had much cheaper from numerous other boutique-type places (I've since checked). They wanted over $1,000.00 for one pair! And, reading the other reviews, I'm glad to see the front staff getting good reviews, because I had a woman who was angry, childish and very unprofessional. I ordered glasses to wear while working on the computer, but could not see out of them. I called to ask how I would go about returning them and was told I didn't give them enough time and that they thought I was going to commit insurance fraud by submitting a claim to my secondary insurance for the glasses after having returned them. I have never in my life been treated with such disrespect and talked to the way their office manager Helen talked to me. Dr. Woolf did NOT apologize for his employee's actions and instead said it is because I wrote on my intake form that I was an insurance auditor as my profession, "I know all of the sneaky tricks." I wasn't sure how to pick my jaw up off of the floor at this point. (Note: I used to be an audior for EDI files and Customer Service phone calls, NOT claims, so I don't know any "sneaky tricks".) I was in tears over this unexpected and unjustified treatment, all because my glasses didn't work out. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I've been going to Dr Woolf since the early '90's. Before him, I always had trouble w/my glasses: either they didn't fit right or the prescriptions were not quite right. I've been totally satisfied w/Dr Woolf. He's always up to date with the newest technology, and there have been amazing changes over the years. Glasses used to be heavy and hurt your ears and indented alongside your nose. And when we first started using computers, you could focus on the screen but not the keyboard or the copy holder. Now glasses are extremely light with continuous focus and great styles. I've always been satisfied with Dr Woolf and won't go anywhere else. Kudos to his great staff and partners, too! Decided to come to Woolf & Woolf since it's less than a mile from my home. When I arrived, the ladies working the front desk were on the phone and gave me the 'give me a minute' finger. The second lady came up and had a short response and asked who I was and then proceeded to look through papers and did not give me any eye contact afterwards. She gave me the impression that she did not want to deal with me. The same woman took me around back to take photos of my eyes and examine my eyes before the doctor would see me. She kept on speaking to me as if I was bothering her and got an attitude when I moved my eye during one of the exams. I didn't do this on purpose as it's a natural reaction when lasers are being shot in your eyes and she did not have any patience with me. Once I saw the actual doctor, she happened to be extremely nice and happy to be of service. She answered all of my questions and showed me photos of my eyes to explain that my eyes are healthy and in good condition. She answered all of my questions and assured me that the other ladies in the waiting room would be more than happy to help me find a perfect pair of glasses. I was discouraged at first because I didn't see any glasses that I personally liked but they changed once the lady had an understanding of what type of glasses I was looking for. After trying a few glasses on, we finally found the perfect ones. She then helped me find a perfect pair of sunglasses as well and I also tried on contacts too. The beginning of the appointment was disappointing but by the end, it definitely ended on a high note and I was happy to leave knowing I found 2 perfect pairs of glasses. I would recommend this to my friends and family but I hope they don't receive the same attitude when they come in to check into their appointment. read more
