Visited today looking for a specific shirt for my husband that he needs for an event this week. We browsed a few sections and started to feel hopeless, but then after turning a corder, we both saw the shirt we were looking for and it was in his size! What a relief! We also grabbed a few workout shirts for the gym since they were on sale. We browsed the home section, but I didn't really need anything, I just wanted to look. Crazy how they already have fall and halloween decor for sale! I went to peek at the petite dress section, but they did not really have may options for me to choose from and the main dress section had dresses that would just be too long on me so I left without buying a new dress - sad. Checking out was fine. There was a line, but it moved sort of fast. I used my JCP card and coupons which was good to save money so I ended up getting a really good deal on the items we bought today. read more

Have been going to this JC Penny for years, conveniently located in Gravois Bluffs. They have all the departments of the mall JCP. They also have a Sephora store inside. Although they are smaller than the mall stores, they offer a wide variety of products at a reasonable price . read more

Very well organized and stocked. They had a pretty good sale going on. I was able to find exactly what I needed and got it for a good price. Was originally $84.00 ended up paying around $32.00. The cashier was friendly, and the other workers i encountered were friendly as well! read more

I was treated like crap over my warranty on the jewelry I purchased. Then I heard a girl named Cece talking about me and called me stupid I told her it was me and asked for manager the lady Danny (Dani) not sure spelling said she was the manager and didn't correct her then I went to get my.com order. I asked that kid Austin for a manager so a guy named same came out and I explained to him how I was treated and he just said they are short handed and I said that doesn't make it okay I told the kid Austin to quit smiling about it and he threw my packages down and refused to check me out. This is for the Portrait Studio but the whole store is pretty nice, if i may say so myself! We took my nephew to the portrait studio this last Saturday for his annual birthday/easter pictures. Having been used to the So Co location, this one was a pleasant surprise indeed when we arrived (early for our booking) and were allowed to get in at the time we were there and not had to wait. The photographer was GREAT with him (he's a little high strung sometimes when getting his pictures taken) and got hims laughing and relaxed to take some cute pictures. I think we will start taking him to this location from now on! read more

If you don't know the JCPenney fashion secret you should. I probably shouldn't be telling you this because people are always complimenting me on the dresses I wear to work, but ladies, you really should check out JCPenney these days, they have really stepped their fashion game up. And, it is still super affordable! In the summer, I like to wear dresses and skirts almost every day to work, they are much more comfortable, and you look put together even though you barely thought about your outfit. Almost every dress I wear these days is from JCPenney. Go during a big sale, or just go whenever and check the clearance racks, and I promise you will come away with some really cute stuff. The thing I love about the JCPenney on the Gravois bluffs is that it is a stand alone store, and these are always my favorite, because shopping there makes the experience much more authentic, at least for me as I've grown past Mall shopping over the past ten years. In stand alone JCPenney's, they are never crowded and it seems like you are just shopping in a store, not a giant department store. Plus, this location is still sort of secluded and every time I've been there its been really pleasant. And, saving the best part for the end, did you know know that this JCPenney HAS A SEPHORA???? LIKE OMFG!! even though it is a smaller Sephora, how absolutely awesome is it that you can buy 5 killer dresses for under $200, and some fabulous Bare Minerals eyeshadow to go with them at the same place, without going to a rat packed mall! Plus, don't ever ever ever underestimate the power of JCPenney clearance prices, I get stuff from there all the time for 4 bucks, 2 bucks, and 7 bucks. And that's no joke. read more

Big Sales going on today---stopped in and there were a ton of new cute spring clothes in and also a ton of stuff on clearance. I ended up getting a brow wax at the salon and the gal was really nice and did a good job and it was only 12.00 plus tip so I thought that was a good deal. They are still going thru some changes with brands they carry and everything. Apparently they are discontinuing Jones New York but worthington and liz claiborne is still going strong. worth a shot of stopping in as they tend to have decent prices and a large selection. read more

Came in looking for a few gift items. Didn't find a decent selection of ANY of the things I was looking for. Apparently, guys only like black, grey, or white athletic socks. And, larger guys only wear ugly grey pajamas. That's it. Good luck finding an employee, as well. This store is mostly deserted by working people. I'm off to Target and Kohl's. read more

Went to look at and buy jewelry for my wife. I was ignored by two employees who decided it was better to chitchat than help a customer.

I am giving a one star review only due to the staff. This JCPenny location is very clean and well stocked. However the staff was awful and completely clueless on their own inventory and return/exchange policies. I work in retail and I generally have a lot of patience when it comes to this kind of thing; however, I found their mistakes unacceptable. I came to JCPennys to exchange a mens dress shirt I had purchased online. I entered the men's section and approached an associate on the location, told me to go ask the mens associate for help or page him myself. Really? You can't stop stocking, within the mens section no less, to at least page him for me? No don't worry. I'll take care of it myself. I finally found the associate who was very polite although very unknowledgable about the section. We had walked past the proper shirts at least 5 times before we finally found them, I picked out the proper size and then he started picking up different shirts stumbling to explain why they would be a better choice. He then informed me I could exchange the item at the customer service desk or the check-out registers. He suggested the check-out registers upfront because the line was a bit shorter. After standing in line for about 10 minutes and the girl at the register staring at my packing slip/return receipt about 10minutes she let out a sigh and told me I couldn't return it up here and that I needed to go back to customer service. When arriving at customer service I was greeted by another long line. By the time I reached the counter I found myself back infront of the friendly mems ware associate and he took an equal amount of time staring at my as the girl at check-out did and told me I couldn't exchange this item in store. I breifly and I admit a little sternly showed him the policy on the packing slip and pointed out that it stated it could be taken into a store. Finally he called over for help and I couldn't even do an even exchange I had to return the online purchase to my card wait 5 minutes for the transaction to process then repurchase it on my debit card. Long line today to check out. Just 2 clerks working. Only after waiting in line for 15 minutes did one of the clerks think to call for assistance with checkout. When it came to my turn the clerk was quite annoyed that there was no price tag on my item. Maybe she wasn't blaming me and was just peeved at the process in general, but it certainly felt as if she thought it was my fault for choosing an item without the required tag...but..IT'S NOT MY JOB to mark the items. I knew how much the item cost because there was a sign on the table. read more

i have mixed feelings about this chain of stores. i like this location because it is not in a mall. sometimes i am just not in the mood to deal with mall parking. one star for this reason. one star for this location having a Sephora in the store. that's where 2 stars come from. that leaves one star. if it did not have the other 2 stars i would not even think about going here. i wanted a certain style of shoes. my dog chewed up my $100 keen sandals. so, my mom told me she would replace them if jcpenney had them. they did not have my beloved Keen's but they did have sketcher's in the men's. i ask the girl in the shoe dept if they had them in women's style's. she said no. i said i wear a women's 11 so what size would that be in men's. she said i don't know. i was just like really? i mean really? i already knew the answer and the men's size fit. but i continually run into the indifference of the service at Jc Penney. read more

Just got checked out by Emmily at the Bluffs in Fenton. She needs retraining. The check out line was very long. She has a customer who had the wrong item. She had all of his items checked out except the one item. She let him go back into the store for at least 10 minutes and find a new item. She should have finished his check out. Held his items and let him go shop without holding up the line. I was next. I explained I had JC Penney 'Cash' and wanted to make sure what I was getting was eligible to be purchased with the 'cash' before she got started. She grabbed the 'cash' and started reading it to me. I explained I knew how to read, I'd never used it before....she started scanning my merchandise and stuck it in a bag and said 'you have a four dollar credit..NEXT' Totally rude. The lady working next to her made eye contact with me and shook her head. Horrible experience. I used to work at Penney's many years ago. I know it can be stressful. But this was uncalled for. read more

We arrived early and the person with the scheduled appointment before ours was late, not even there; however, JCP Portraits would not take us. Then when the lady before us arrived shortly before our scheduled appointment time, she dragged in a ton of kids with various wardrobe changes requesting various different pictures and background changes. It was clear our appointment was going to start very late, and we said to heck with it. VERY disappointed, especially since JCP Portraits had called us trying to drum up business by offering us deals to come in. read more

I absolutely love this store. It is beautiful and the employees are so nice and upbeat. There are always a lot of cars in the parking lot so that tells you that people like going there. Also, it seems like they do a lot of special events at this store. Can't say enough about this great place to shop. read more

My husband and I went in to buy a washer/dryer combo. Everything seemed great, Sam took care of us and we bought the best looking washer dryer there. We opened up a credit card to save 5%. It was to be delivered in a few days. We bought the pedestals...the works. To say our experience there after has been a nightmare, is an understatement. First, they sent us two washers, so we sent one back. They then told us our new dryer would be delivered the following week and Adam was even nice enough to bring me a floor model dryer so I wouldn't have to be without. Then, our dryer gets delivered to my husband's moms house (our CORRECT address was on file, we repeated it twice to Sam). Adam picks up the dryer himself, brings it to us and it starts smoking. On top of all of this, we weren't told or asked if we needed new hoses/vents until the delivery guys told us the first time they couldn't hook our stuff up. We were there and sparing no expense. We would've bought the hoses/vent had we known/been told. We finally went to Lowe's and got our order delivered perfectly. In the interim, JCPenney is to be picking up their washer/dryer so we can get our refund, and where do they go? My husband's moms house AGAIN. The only thing we are walking away from dealing with all of this is a HARD inquiry on his credit report for the credit card we only opened for this awful transaction. I used to love Penneys, this is so disappointing. read more

After a couple of weeks of using the curling iron over and over every morning to put some body and curl in my hair, I was extremely anxious to get my hair cut and styled. I tried twice to get into another salon in Fenton and was told they were booked solid. I tried another place only to be told it would be a long wait. I was far from impressed with the job they had done before, but, I was extremely desperate. We headed to another place when I remembered JC Penney had a hair salon. I figured anything was worth a try. I had a short wait and was greeted and offered a water or something to drink, something I was not offered at any other place. I watched the lady that had her hair done before me pay her bill and I loved her hair! Mine is very fine and extremely hard to do anything with, and I asked her if her hair was thick to have it styled the way she did. She let me feel her hair and informed me hers was extremely fine, too. Luckily, I got the person who had done her hair. Not only did Kurtis ask me how I wanted my hair, he told me every single step he was going to do to achieve what I wanted. He told me the products he was using, and told me how to use them. I absolutely love what he did to my hair and how it looks. For the first time, I feel comfortable walking out of my house without using the curling iron! Kurtis, you won me over and I'll NEVER go to anyone but you from now on. read more
