My first time going to Chuck's Boots and I have been driving by it for 30 years. I was looking for some waterproof shoes/hikers and decided to stop in. I thought they were mostly cowboy boots, and they have a serious variety of them for sure. But, they also had the largest selection of work boots, hiking boots, and hiking shoes that I have ever seen in one locations. They had Keen, Merrel, Salomon, Oboz, you name it they had it. Had some very helpful salespeople as well that were not pushy and would give you space if you needed it, or help you if you needed it. Their prices were pretty much retail and I did not see much in the way of sales on any of the boots, but the selection best I have seen in the St. Louis area. read more

I purchased a pair of Thorogood boots from this business. After I received them it became obvious to me I received a return pair / used pair. They have given me a PP label to return the boots. This will be the 1st and last time I ever buy from them. There were no notes on the webpage that I should expect a pair of boots in this condition. The manager tried to explain to me the condition was normal. I have never ever received a pair of footwear in this condition from ANY seller. I was in awe of this place! I thought Chucks was going to be all about the cowboy boots and hats but oh no....Chucks blew me away. I found myself in this store for over an hour browsing and trying on super cute boots. They have such a humongous array of boots and shoes but leather jackets, hats, mace key chains, sneakers, socks, belts, etc. I found a pair of Frye booties for $200 and I can't wait to rock them. I've seen this place when driving by. I always thought it was solely for western clothing. However, I noticed their ad on TV and they do have motorcycle clothing and work boots. Needing a pair of new biker boots, I stopped in. The place is huge. I'd say half the store is dedicated to western ware, but they have PLENTY of work wear as well as motorcycle gear. They have a nice selection of top brands and a range in prices. Lots of made in the USA stuff. A representative was always within sight but I never bothered one for help. We were shopping specifically for Lucchese boots, and they had several pairs in both men's and women's, which is hard to find even at large western boot stores in the southland. The deals aren't blow-your-mind great, but they are decent. The draw here is the options...you'd be hard pressed to walk out empty-handed. I would have given this one star, but I did find a leather vest there. Shopping here was a pain, though. One of the clerks had a bunch of his buddies there, and you had to walk the gauntlet to get past them. I had to use the bathroom while I was there. After walking all the way to the back, I find they're locked. So I walked all the way to the front to get a key. The girl calls on the speaker "employee assist customer restroom." So I walk all the way back again, stand there for a few minutes and say screw it when nobody shows up. If my husband hadn't already paid for the vest, I would have left within it. Moral of the story? Don't leave children in charge and maybe you won't have to lock your bathroom to prevent theft. This was the Fenton store. read more

I probably could have bought one-half of this store. I got a pair of black Bear Paws warmth-lined boots. Yes, they look like Herman Munster/Frankenstein shoes!! There's so much in this place: boots -- men's women's, children's, motorcycle, work, steel-toed work, utilitarian warm/snow, rain, fashion, cowboy, outstanding selection of Corkys. sunglasses, watches, chains and other jewelry, slippers, belts, belt buckles, western clothing of all sorts, cowboy hats, rubber overalls (are those for trout fishing?), other accessories and work apparel. All levels of pricing. I saw many price tags on boots that said, "Compare at $____. Our price $____." Yet, I don't believe they profess to be a discount store. I did appreciate the differential pricing comparison. A very friendly store clerk unboxing even more boots asked if I needed help finding something. Well, I was just dumbstruck at the amount and variety of stuff under this roof! I saw ostrich, alligator and snake cowboy boots for upwards of $500. They kinda creeped me out! This place is in Fenton, so it's a fer piece for some -- but it's in St. Louis County! I could have spent lots more time just wandering around enjoying the wares!! read more

Great prices and a great selection! This place is just a big warehouse filled with boots of all types and sizes. Jon and I drove out to Chuck's recently to find him a new pair of shoes for work, and naturally, I wandered into the Women's section. This place has boots for virtually anything you could ever need boots for, and they have a vast selection of styles for both men and women. Jon needed to exchange a pair of cowboy boots for a new pair of heavy duty technical boots for work, and the helpful sales associate gladly accepted the exchange even though he didn't have a receipt. He quickly found a pair the suited his needs, and then we wandered into the Women's section. I found about 50 pairs of boots that caught my eye, but seeing as I have tiny feet (size 5) there was a very limited selection of boots available in my size. I discovered however, that any boots can be ordered in the right size. Chuck's has great prices. I found the exact same pair of Frye boots that I purchased a year ago in Chicago for $100 less than I paid. I know where I'll be shopping for boots in the future. read more

My husband and I were just there to get work boots, which he always goes to Chuck's Boots for his boots. We looked for a min then asked for help/opinion on which boots might be better than another because my husband couldn't remember exactly what boots he bought last, we just remembered they were Carolina. The man who was "helping" us was rude! We asked his opinion, he stood at the end of the isle and pointed down at the boots. So we got more specific "which one's have been complemented on the most as a really good or comfortable work boot?" His response "All of our boots are great!" Since he acted like we were inconveniencing him, we just walked out, completely surprised at the customer service or lack there of, we just received. If I could give this review no start at all I would. My husband went here to purchase some shoes for work last week and the service was horrible!!! He was in the store for at least 20 min before anyone offered to help him and when one guy finally did stop to see if he needed assistance, he was a waste of time. Previous to this, at least 5 associates walked right past him and no one even said "hello". This is unacceptable, we've never experienced service so mediocre at any establishment!!! The associates are there to helpful and friendly and neither took place that day. Needless to say we will never spend money here again or refer anyone to this location!!! read more

I've been a customer of Chuck's Boots for many years . About every six months when I am in the market for a new pair of boots this store never fails me...their selection is endless. There is always plenty of employee's on staff to answer any questions...and I can tell that they are happy to do so. I have never felt like I was inconveniencing them - like you do at a lot of other retail stores. Just when I didn't think that my satisfaction could get any greater they went "above and beyond". I called the store recently asking to speak with a Mgr. I did not know this person(her name is Micha) nor did she know me...but I explained that I've got a foster child that I visit a few times a month. His birthday was coming up and the only thing that he wanted was a pair of "square toe" boots. I asked Micha if she was able to offer any discounts that would allow me to afford to purchase a pair of boots for this person. She was as pleasant as could be and explained that she would call me back within an hour after doing some checking. 20 minutes later I received a phone call from Micha explaining that Chuck's Boots was going to "gift" a brand new pair of boots to this child. It was extremely thoughtful and generous - the true definition of going "above and beyond". Needless to say, when I gave the boots to this kiddo he was ecstatic--you guys made his birthday the most special ever. Thanks!! You guys are awesome!!! read more

Hardest working staff out there. Feel free to ignore a lot of the negative people on these reviews. A lot of them have never worked retail, guarantee you, as well as it's all about timing. Sometimes you walk into a store during its busiest hour and people expect employees to drop everything they're doing, just for them. That's the kinda people writing these negative reviews the majority of the time. The employees here, do their best to work through efficiently and as a team to get through busy hours and answer all questions they are asked. The people on here as well, writing how kids are in charge or locked bathrooms, or not being able to find employees, they're all a bunch of dumbasses. You don't NEED to be greeted everytime they step in the store. You're not royalty. You don't need to argue about a coupon not working because your nut sized brain doesn't want to understand why it doesn't work for the item you chose. You don't need to yell at employees because you can spend your money elsewhere because the employee has to order your boot or gloves, belt, specified item, to the store then you pay for it then. These are SIMPLE things people get pissed about. You don't get greeted 100% of the time because employees are cleaning piss out of boots. Shit off the floor, and that's not always in the bathroom. They are assisting other customers, thsyre restocking because its that time of the day/week. Coupon A doesn't work for item B, and when an employee shows you exactly why, you don't need to get pissy because they proved to you that the coupon, ISN'T meant for item B. It's meant for item A. Coupons aren't hard to understand, its just stupid people who read the 1/3 lines and assume they know exactly what they're talking about. If you can spend your money elsewhere, ok cool? Who gives a fuck. Go spend it elsewhere. The store is doing just fine without dumbass A. They don't need dumbass B and C as well. If you get pissy because you see teens working a store, then kiss my ass you hypocrit. Everyone is a teen at some point, most have jobs. Went to Chuck's boots in St. peters and ordered a helmet, The guy said it would be three days I called back in three days and another employee laughed at me and said someone must have lied to you ,it will take two weeks to get it in. So I proceeded to call the Fenton store ,I told themthe exact helmet I wanted, the exact color, and the exact size , I was on hold for about 10 minutes and the guy came back and said they had tons of them So we made the 1 Hour Drive to Fenton and They did not have them.
