Do not go here for portraits. They are terrible. I went for a business portrait. I brought photos to show angles that I liked-my face in profile with my eyes on the camera. They took none like that. My hair was in my eyes and they didn't tell me. Several were not even in focus. You don't get to see any photos until you are done, so you can't make adjustments. I understand this is not a high end photo studio, but even so, I used photos a friend took at home later as they came out far better. read more

Line is long with 3 registers..one rep disappeared and another dealing with same customer issue for last 25 min. Wth!!! Just left the swimsuit section of the womens dept and was rudely told by Janet (woman on the shorter side with glasses) to stop touching a sign. Did not ask if we needed assistance, just preceded to tell my brother in law how much of a child he was for touching a sign after not giving a response to her giving us an order. A simple please would have been appreciated. No defacement or destruction was occurring whatsoever. read more

A disclaimer for big dudes. They have don't have sizes larger than 44 or XXXL in this store. I had to laid that out there just because I know dudes be trying to find that right size in the store only come away empty handed. If you want to save a bus fare and frustration with some rude store clerks, go to the JCPenny in Herald Square. They have better selections although it's pricier. I can't say they have lots of cheap stuff all of the time because I've seen prices for shirts at full retail, no discounts. I dunno guys, I'm tired of wasting characters for this review. I went to the sephora at jcpenny in bay plaza mall and had such a wonderful experience. I use to go there but then stopped because I felt like the employees didn't know much about makeup. However this time when I went a young lady named Sayani helped me find the perfect color foundation for my skin. She helped me learn how to apply my makeup and gave me great makeup tips. I highly recommend if you go there to just ask for Sayani to help you out with what you need. She really knows what she's doing! read more

I went to JCP looking for a suit in their Big and Tall Department. I found plenty of suit jackets...BUT NO MATCHING PANTS! I was told there were no pants in stock...then take down the suits! I made a special trip to JCP; thank goodness I didn't also pay $3 to park in their garage. I just read they have a new President, a guy they hired from Hone Depot. He has a lot of work to do; in the meantime, I'm going to contact New York City Consumer Affairs and urge them to force JCP to announce on their website" "We have plenty of Big and Tall suit jackets but no pants in our stores." The girls that work there seem nice at first but with certain questions or exchanges they seem to have an attitude as if they don't want to do certain things. Im only giving this store a 4 star because I had the sweetest cashier named Latesha in the Junior department who smiled and was very pleasant. On the other hand, the staff in the lingerie/intimate apparel section was very unwelcoming and failed to smile although she did offer to help. I called the Shoe department to see if they had a shoe in stock. The young woman on the phone was a sweetheart ! She was so patient and polite !! She put them on hold for me and the second I got there and mentioned it they helped me. One girl who I asked if they had a smaller size wasn't to helpful. She quickly walked in the back and came right out saying they did not have the size. As I grabbed the display shoe it was the size I was looking for. I then told her and asked if she could get the other one. She told me if I bought the display I would revive 10% off on top of the coupon I had. Great sale for me :) read more

This review is for JCP Portraits. Im writing this on behalf of my mother who was there this week. My mother went to get photos of my children. The place was packed. My mother arrived 15 minutes before her scheduled time. It literally took an hour for her to even been seen and once she got in there they rushed her out. The only best part of the experience was the customer service provided by a girl named Nancy. She extremely helped my mother with the selection of photos. She took her time with my mother. She was kind and very understanding. There need to be more people like her working there. My mother said the only way she would ever go back if Nancy is there. I want to thank her for making my mother's terrible experience much better. read more

This is a great store to shop at. It has a great selection and the store is always organized everytime I come here. NO clothes on the floor and clothes are folded neatly on the shelves. The one reason I did not give this store 5 stars is, because it is sometimes hard to find someone to help you. It is like a treasure hunt looking for someone to assist you sometimes. read more

i have mixed feelings about jc penny as its the stepson of walmart , target and semi related to kmart as its better then kmart but more expensive unless a giant sale is going on . i was in bay plaza at the mall and while i was waiting for my buddy to finish his job shift i decided to waste time at the penny.inside its multi levels of spacious goods from clothing , housewares, electronics ,toys, and much more and the upper level has a photo shop and hair salon that was the location of a brawl between a hair stylist and customer some years ago. i walked around a bit and the mens dept had plenty of sales and they were to go to pass up. they have a sephora here as well if you are into makeup but i usually dont wear makeup in public (only kidding ). damn you can really spend a bunch of time in here as i did but i did leave with a few shirts and s pair of rockport casuals that were on sale for 40 bucks . jc penny is usually not my first choice but as a second one its really not that bad and you wont wait that long on line as the cashiers are fairly quick . read more

It's funny how I read the reviews and I see people wrote they don't like to say they shop here. Up until I stepped into this JC Penney I always considered this store comparable to kohls or sears ( my mothers stores). Not that there's anything wrong with those stores!!! I just can never find clothes I like or that look good on me etc.. Anyways back to the review, this place is a hidden gem. It's got tons of cute clothes for kids - very stylish and trendy copying a lot of the latest trends. It's too cute, I shop here all the time for my daughter and we can get similar outfits. The bags are so cute, they even carry Betsey Johnson now! My husband also loves this store. He bought lots of Nike shirts and sweats all around 18 each. He found Levi shorts for 14$. He also found these great sunglasses for only $16. All in all great stuff for low prices. Finally a store where the quality of products is not compromised by being low priced. Lastly, my all time fave store is inside - Sephora. they may not carry my fave brand of makeup or skincare, however in terms of treatment to customers this sephora surpasses the others. I can return a clumpy mascara w/o the sales clerk looking annoyed and asking why? i can shop in this sephora without someone over my shoulder asking if i need help every 10 second...... yet don't get me wrong. when help is needed, the sales associate will go above and beyond to help even checking inventory in the back. Finally every sales associate I've encountered so far has been very pleasant from the young man at the door working security to to the lady Madeline (I think) who works in the men's dept and stayed with my husband and I well after closing and her shift ended to help is out with a few things. My friend and i went to the sephora inside JCpenny and i will NEVER shop there ever again!! First the nail bar was dirty and there were barely any nail polishes . I'm a rouge member so that means i spend alot of money with this company. Second the perfume displays were barely stocked as well and when i inquired to one of the so called sales associates she informed me that the theft rate at the location is high so they don't keep the shelves stocked, huh OK. So, the items i wanted of course they didn't have the associate pretended to be looking inside drawers which were half empty as well which was surprising since " they only put a certain amount of items on display due to the high theft rate at that location " so i would assume the drawers would be well stocked then, right? third the security guard followed my friend and i around the store as if we were trying to steal so i said something and she claimed she was admiring my friends son OK. Last they left the security sticker on the few items i did purchase so when we left out the alarm sounded which was embrassing but they took care of the issue. This is one sephora store i will not be returning to EVER. read more

This was my family's fifth time having a photo session. All of the other 4 times were extremely positive. This time we felt rushed even though we arrived 15 minutes early, some of the pictures were not usable since a prop or costume piece was not in the right place and the photographer wouldn't retake that shot, she also didn't allow for me to have an additional wardrobe change. I asked for an additional photo to be taken of my family and she said that she can't exceed the given limit. NOWHERE IN LARGE OR FINE PRINT IS THERE A CUSTOMER LIMIT FOR PHOTOS!!! CUSTOMERS ARE BLINDED AND NOT RESPECTED YET THIS SESSION COSTED ME $130 for the digital format and membership fee. We didn't have enough photos to choose from and all of the preparations for this photo session (time, money, clothing, hair, shoes, etc) all for the best photos was a disappointment for my family's time in preparation for this photo event. JCPenney you should be clear that your customers can get a HANDFUL OF SHOTS for HUNDREDS of dollars. What a RIPOFF!!! When I called to complain the photographer said I could return for 8 more shots and said we would have to pay a fee for the new photo retake and said that we can call customer service if we'd like. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! So much for customer service. We won't be returning here and will be looking into a real photographer to capture our family's precious moments. read more

I always receive good customer service here; however, when I came to buy something this Sunday I was waiting hours just to get a certain shoe size. Some were too busy but there were others who I did not even see come out to help. When I finally got to pay at the register, one of the cashiers got smart with me which I found very rude. She was very unprofessional to respond at a rude manner which is one of the reasons i would not come back to this store. found a few good pieces of clothes for work. The fit i found were not very reliable within a brand. Took me a couple of hours but was happy with my purchase. I was easy to spot selections because there is room to move around. It's quiet and organized with just enough to pick from. Give yourself enough time to look for especific pieces and to try them on. The floor employess were helpful and aggreable. They helped me get my cell phone back which i left in the fitting room. Luckuly i was still in the area and got it back in time. If I could give this store negative stars I would. I will not be spending my money at this Sephora ever again. I am a VIB Rouge member so i spend a good amount of money with this company and the past couple of times I have gone here have been horrible. I went during Christmas time to pick up some gifts for different people so I asked the cashier to put individual gift receipts in the bag. He was the rudest man i have ever met his customer service skills are horrible, he is very condescending and rude. I asked him before the transaction was done if he did the gift receipts he said yes they're in the bag. When i got home i checked in the bag no gift receipts in the bag. Another time I went in there with my boyfriend to look at a new line they received and the security followed us around the entire store. Mind you I have shopped there multiple times. I work in customer service and know what good customer service is this is definitely not shown here. Horrible customer service I will never be shopping here again. read more

Below average JCPenney store located in the Bay Plaza Shopping Center in the Co-op City section of the Bronx. The store has average goods, and is the only store of its kind in the Bronx. This location has a salon on the second floor, but if you're a male client looking to get a haircut, good luck! Most stylists aim for female clients and I've heard a few of them say they don't cut men's hair (Which is ILLEGAL under existing New York State cosmetology licensing laws; they can lose their license if they say they don't cut men's hair). After enduring a problem with their salon and promising to contact New York State Cosmetology Board's headquarters in lower Manhattan did the stylist do a 180 degree turn and told me that she was busy and she didn't mean to say she didn't cut men's hair (they were surprised that I was so well versed in the law). At the end I got a $100 gift card for my troubles. read more

When I arrived to the Salon area there were two ladies behind the counter, both on the phone. I patiently waited, until one of them were available to assist me. About a min later they both were off the phone. The ladies then proceeded to hold a conversation with each other. I walked up to the counter again, just when one of the ladies were about to dash from behind the counter before catching herself, turns back to me to say "I'm sorry, did you have an appointment?" "No. But I would like to speak with a manager" She looked shocked at my request, but continued to call out for a manager. A young man came out. I introduced myself and let him know that I've submitted my application for employment online a few weeks ago, and wanted to check the status. He told me they will call soon. As I left I felt like I would never go to that Salon for any services, as I am a consumer first. Nor do I care to work in a salon that treat clients that way. read more
