Our JCPenney went out of business here. They got great buys on clothing. I don't drive so most of the time I shop on line. The store has so much to pick from. I am not young, I am 83 and I love their clothes. No not the old ladies stuff that don't fit! I love their midrise jeans and the sweaters and some of the t-shirts. Prices are great and every thing is a great fit. Old ladies stuff is way too large and UGLY! It is just great shopping when they have sales. All the sweaters are a perfect fit, so are the jeans. the jewelry is also very nice. My daughter shops there also. I hope they stay in business. Karen you got a bad deal! This review is for the clothing section of the store. This location is really gone downhill. The pricing signs stated 70% off for a particular brand of swim ware. When I took the items to the register they came up full price. I was given bogus information by the sales representative and by the store manager. Both claimed the pricing was correct when it wasn't. Everything they were claiming didn't add up. Just as I was leaving, the manager finally determined that no merchandise actually matched the posted price and I was informed that "the signs were being taken down." No apology was given. The air conditioning is rarely working properly and the racks of clothing are either sparse or unorganized. It's sad because I used to enjoy shopping there. read more

I ordered online 5 pair of sandals on Labor Day , for free shipping I had to reach over 50 so I ordered a set of plates, even tho I didn't need it.. the plate came in the 16th as promise. The sandals no where to to seen in the 18th , so I politely called abs they say 22nd.. and by the 25th nothing came!! Now I am furious because we needed for our vacation.. they are so u professional they could have called, text, email but nothing!! When I called back all they say is sorry we refund u ... what the freak!! Ugh! Why is this store so damn depressing? Now a little disclosure here, I was an employee back in the day. But then the store was fine and I basically bought everything from coffee makers to clothes here. But a lot has changed. The store has a weird funk to it. You go in the clothes section and everything is thrown about. The employees are hit and miss on their helpfulness. The restrooms are atrocious. I walked through the children's section and there was a used diaper in the middle of the floor. Eww! But the main point is the store itself needs to change the atmosphere. I always feel like I'm walking into a cave when I'm here. It's so old and outdated. It feels like a place to bring grandma. So what once was my "go to" place, isn't anymore. I now primarily use Penney's for its services (eyewear, salon) and avoid the rest of the store like a plague. read more

This JCPenney used to have a standout selection of handbags. But during my visit today, there wasn't a wide variety of anything. No sparkly holiday clutches, not a lot of variety with designers; it was really a lot of "old lady bags." Even at 50-something, my mom wouldn't have been interested in the variety. The women's clothing section has improved though. The racks used to be closer together, but I noticed the Worthington section was much more roomy. I'm not a fan of their new pricing though. I really liked those sales that mirrored those at Kohl's. Suddenly, I don't feel like I'm getting a deal "fair and square" like their marketing says. I like the Montgomery store better. There also is not a Sephora here. I purchased accessories for my bridesmaids here, but when there weren't enough on the shelf, a cashier was more than helpful at locating more inventory at other stores. read more

THIS IS FOR THE PHOTO STUDIO. There's no separate listing on YELP for the photo studio. My husband and I being poor parents can't afford anything in any department store, hell, we're lucky if we can afford Target. My parents footed the bill for these glorious photos. Our gal the first day on Thursday evening was great (she was the only one there thursday the 25th in the evening)- however our son was not cooperating (someone decided that day of all days to skip his nap!) I have no idea how he would have responded to her had he not been a crankasaurus rex. It was totally not her fault that my kid is a drama queen and if he skips his nap, he's like something out of a horror movie. She got some good shots at least though of the 5 of us- Us plus our corgis. She had some awesome suggestions about posing the kid and the dogs which I wish my son would have complied more, because our male dog and him are BEST FRIENDS ,but he's a stubborn booger and was just DONE that day. She was really good about trying and taking a break, and letting him nurse to maybe calm him down, but she reassured us that this happened a LOT with kids especially if they skip their naps. The fact that she got at least 3 shots of us all looking at the camera is significant as my dogs (especially the male) would rather reign in Hell than serve in heaven. The gal on saturday for our "make up" day was absolutely fabulous. I think her name was Kristie. Somehow, her tone of voice (she kept saying "tickle tickle tickle" like cookie monster) made him laugh hysterically and smile REALLY big. She also was really awesome about switching out photos in the collage sheets to ones that I felt flattered me more (I have this obsession about not being in profile for some crazy reason). My son really responded to her and she got some amazing shots and managed to even catch his mischevious side.... which is hard to do. My only disappointment has nothing to do with the photographers but with JCP's policy- I really really wanted some shots of my son in his crazy dinosaur diaper sitting in the washtub, (i even purchased a specific cloth diaper for this !) but I guess the rules are after a certain age that's not allowed. However, the gal on thursday came up with a reasonable compromise (him in just overalls looking like Huckleberry finn) that was actually... cuter than my original idea. read more

Do these guys EVER answer the phone? Bought a bed - it came, but they didn't put it together (they never asked when we bought it - shame on me for not asking the obvious). That said, I called them (reason for the review) to see if I could get it setup (it wasn't a simple one and there's only one of me). I called and dialed 0 - that number is busy... ENDLESSLY ... called back... that number is busy...again ENDLESSLY ... called back... you get the picture. Dialed 3 for a list of departments ... then 5 for Home department... "that call cannot be completed" ... The "new" customer service is: "we're just not going to answer the phone" Moral of the story - get it assembled - oh sorry... real moral is go to a better store! read more

I've shopped here twice for clothes and ran into rude associates both times. I won't be shopping at this location again.

I thought I was buying a good quality product. I paid for a good quality product. Hunter Douglas Honeycomb shades. The pulls on these shades are cheap and plastic and they all broke off less than a year of being installed. JC Penney came and had to take the shades all off and send them to a repair place to be fixed. Funny how the pulls probably cost 10 cents to make in China, but you can't just swap them out with new pulls, you have to have a company do this at their shop. They got replaced and reinstalled about a month later. After about another month, they same pulls started cracking and falling off. JC Penney came out about a month after that and said Hunter Douglas wanted the shades sent to them to look at and they would fix them. Another month later I still hadn't heard back so I called Penney's. Veronica said that the installer shipped them out but UPS lost them so they never got to Hunter Douglas. She was going to call Hunter Douglas and call me back. She never did, so I called the next day or so and talked with someone who said he would have Veronica call me back. She seems to always be on the phone. She never called me back, so a few days later I called again and spoke with Thomas. He said he would look into it and call me back by 3pm. He did not call back. I called a few days later and talked with yet another person who again, never called me back. I just called today and talked with Wyatt who said Veronica is on the phone (surprise surprise) and would contact the installer and get back to me. I am not holding my breath. At this point I have temporary shades that keep falling down and do not block out the light in my bedroom like the original shades did. My bathroom also has temp. shades that keep falling off and I have now put blue tape on all to keep them up. Very attractive. I paid good money for a cheaply made product and zero customer service. Stay away from JC Penney and Hunter Douglas! read more

I've been going to this location for nearly 15 years, it's progressively gotten worse. I went tonight after work because the sale started September 14, all the sizes and styles were picked over. The store is filthy and smelled like a dirty diaper. Carson's is gone and Sears will soon be gone. This is a below "c" mall. I cannot believe this place. It's also hard to find an employee to assist with ANYTHING... the fitting rooms are a disaster, I know probably due to the customers.... but it's really gross. read more

Great place hunt for a good bargain, always seem to find quality material at a decent price. Associates are also friendly, some teenagers that I'm sure consist of high turn over employees have some attitude but that's always expected at the retail level. I've been a loyal customer for years. I decided to try their home custom window treatments and worked with Ingrid. What a horrible experience. I ordered for 3 rooms and spent close to $7k. One curtain arrived with white spots on it, and in the dining room, only 2 roman shades arrived instead of the 3 that were needed. Ingrid forgot to order the 3rd. Ingrid did order them after the fact to make up for it, which was fine. I also attempted to add another curtain to the order and I've never heard a follow up on it. I guess she doesn't want the sale? She has dodged my calls and has not replied to any of my texts or emails. I've contacted the store manager, the general manager and written an email to corporate about my experience. Not ONE person has contacted me...I've heard NOTHING from anyone. I'm beyond disappointed with my experience with JCP home windows and JCP in general. Should I need curtains in the future, I will go elsewhere to someone who appreciates my business. read more

I have to admit, this place has its fair share of sub par employees, but there is one particular employee that really helped me out and went above and beyond. Her name is Laura Sherman. I had an issue with a return not showing up in the system and she had to make a bunch of phone calls to resolve my problem. She ended up giving me a $10 gift card to thank me for my patience. This review is for fine jewelry. I came in two days ago to do an exchange of a few items for one item that had better quality. I waited for over 25 minutes before I was helped. There was one woman working there and told me she would get to me after the person she was helping- but instead went to help people that literally just got there. When another woman came to help she also ignored me as i stood there waiting. When the original girl came who was there (she was a short indian woman with short black hair, glasses and a red shirt with flowers), she asked for the exchanging items. I said i didnt have a box for all except one she said thats fine. I pull out my receipts and she stares at me with a REALLY dirty look, and says "oh my god what are you doing?" Im like whats the issue?! She said "you have items from each of these receipts?!" With the worst attitude. I told her i didnt need to be there and i can just leave since she has an attitude. She got even angrier and said "DO YOU WANT ME TO DO THE EXCHANGE OR NO??". It took everything inside of me not to scream at her. First she has me waiting for almost 30 mins while she helped everyone AFTER me then acts like im trying to get one over on her???? The staff here is disgusting and you should all be ashamed of yourselves with how you treat people. I will NEVER shop at this location again and i STRONGLY encourage others not to as well. Recently I brought a window blinds from JcPenny ( Fox Valley Mall - Aurora ). Most of us speak about customer satisfaction but after dealing with Adriane Vitro ( Sales Specialist - Window Coverings at JcPenny Fox Valley Mall ) I found out she is a ( Customer ) delight. Why ? First she asked me if I was sure on the measurements for the window blinds. I was not confident if the measurements I had taken were correct. She gave me the leaflet explaining how to take the measurements. Secondly she listed all the options and provided valuable suggestions to nail down on the right product and gave me a quote. She also informed me to take the right measurements and come back after 2 days later when JcPenny would have a special offer for Window treatments. I placed the order 2 days later and the blinds were delivered as promised. ( Many a times I have seen delivery dates are mentioned as 6 - 8 weeks but we get the product delivered in 4 weeks ). In this case we got the product on the date mentioned in the Sales receipt. I fitted the blinds and the measurements were perfect. Since we placed the offer during the promotional period we were able to save additional 20%. read more

When we called back in November to check on the status of the order, we were told that it was on back order until January and that there was no record of it having been promised for November. SALON Fox Valley Mall The prices are fairly cheap considering that it is a higher scale salon. Don't go there if you are expecting to pay less that $20 bucks for a haircut unless your a man. Don't expect it to be the most elegant salon either because they are in need of an upgrade unless you go to the newer salons (they are beautiful).However, they salon is clean and the staff is very professional and knowledgable. Also,I have been coming there for years and majority of the stylists have been there for a very long time and most of them work with any hair type and texture. If you have had bad experience with stylists before ask for a Master designer because it is worth the few extra dollars (literally) to ensure that your hair will look great. Also their hair products are drastically cheaper than Ulta's or anywhere else. it is super busy on Saturdays when I go and the girls have said that its best to come during a weekday if you can because it is a lot more quieter. This is the best and most affortable because I always recieve coupons and discounts for being a loyal customer through the stores rewards program. read more
