We worked with Juan on remodeling a half bathroom, primarily to replace old plumbing, and that part was done very well -- no complaints there. They arrived on time, finished within the agreed schedule, and were pleasant to work with. However, the shower remodel left much to be desired. The shower wall is uneven, which made it impossible to install a door properly without leaving a gap. The wall panels also have noticeably different gaps from top to bottom, and the silicone work in the corners was sloppy -- I'll need to redo that myself. Since the shower door wasn't installed at the end of the project, I had to hire a different contractor after waiting about three weeks. I understand that walls in older condos can be tricky, but I didn't expect such visible imperfections. I would recommend these guys in a heartbeat. Most water heater replacements are plug and play. Even well established contractors and plumbing agencies will tell you it will take them 45 mins tops to do the swap. And yet pretty much every one will want to charge you north of $1000 just for the installation. JBS (Juan and Fabi) were well below that. And they were honest throughout the process. Fabi answered most questions over the phone after requesting pictures of the heater location, and that was followed by a visit from Juan since I wanted to look into going tankless. He explained why the difference between the two was so wide. After we settled on going for a tank replacement, Fabi got to work. We tried to shop for their recommended Bradford White brand with extended warranty but she could not find one (note: they will not charge a markup even if they buy the heater, unlike other plumbers). She was more than happy to have us buy one ourselves and have Juan pick it to at the local home improvement store. We did that. Juan was quick with the install. He was able to help out with a tricky situation where the heater was slightly wider than the old one (we upsized). He has also offered to come back later and replace the water inlet valve which we discovered had a slight leak during the install (we didn't have a spare then) - without charging for additional labor! And he said he would check the water mains pressure too - again out of courtesy! This is exactly why we need to support local business. JBS will go above and beyond for you. read more

I just moved to a new home and it included a gas stove. I didn't want it and frankly I'm a bit scared of gas ranges anyway. We wanted to replace two of the toilets ourselves but it ended up being more complicated as the parts to our existing plumbing was very outdated. We knew we wouldn't want to risk any leaks so we called around for plumbers. In comes Juan and Fabi, we called them on a Saturday and they came the next day on Sunday which is usually a day they take off so I appreciate them coming out. They had to completely change out the flange and he came with parts and did the work! You could tell that he takes pride in his work as he was double, triple, quadruple checking for leaks after each installation. I knocked off one star only because they mentioned they would come in the morning but didn't come until 1.30pm. It was because the previous job was running late so I can't fault them for this but just wished they contacted us. Juan and Faby are awesome. I had a leaky water heater. Instead of trying to fix it I asked them to replace it. (About 25 years old and didn't want to put a bandaid on it). Not only was reaching Fabi, his wife and office manager easy, I sent her a video of where the leak was and she got right back to me with an estimate and that Juan could come do the repair. Fabiola and Juan are a great wife and husband team. Yesterday, I hired them to install a kitchen sink, a garbage disposal unit, two toilets and a couple of bathroom faucets. Fabiola was very helpful over the phone, offering to pick up the items for free and offering to call up Home Depot to resolve a delivery issue. Shower valve and sink faucet were both corroded and broken. He came and fixed both and they were both very stubborn pieces.

Juan is very reliable and did a great job fixing our shower valve and adding a recirculating water pump. He had to cut out parts of the closet to get into the back of the bathroom but patched it back well. Luckily he also found a leak that was already there and fixed it! He's honest and straightforward and quotes a fair price. He's very patient and thorough with the job and had to come back to finish the job which he did without complaining. Faby and Juan were a great team to work with. One of our showers wouldn't turn off so we had to turn the water off to the whole house on a Friday morning. I used the yelp quote service and Faby was really quick to respond. She asked a few follow-up questions and was able to give me free estimate virtually. The estimate was in line with other plumbing services but what really set JBS apart was that Juan wanted to be sure that we wouldn't be without water the whole weekend. He wanted to come Friday afternoon but we had a conflict so he came Saturday afternoon. Juan was wearing a mask when he arrived and removed his shoes before entering the house.
