ONE. YEAR. LATER. AND THE JOB IS STILL NOT FINISHED! It is Feb. 11th, 2018. Let me say it again... After ONE YEAR, they still have not completed the job. Read below for the history:
STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS AND THESE PEOPLE. Should have a NO star or NEGATIVE star rating option.
I wrote a check for almost $5000 for half the cost of new kitchen cabinets (result of a burst pipe and flood) on Feb. 11th, 2017. I was told it would take "about 4 weeks" for fabrication and delivery. I am living in a hotel while my home is put back together. Here's a tale of the nightmare that followed:
Hamid comes to the house to measure. I make a repeated request for a certain feature to be included. I stress this feature is VERY important. Days and days pass and the plans finally come through. Guess what's missing? THE FEATURE I HAVE REPEATEDLY ASKED TO BE INCLUDED. More than a week passes before the amended plans come through.
"About 4 weeks" has now turned into 6 1/2 weeks. My contractor is waiting impatiently to finish the job.The cabinets are finally delivered to JB Home Improvement and Hamid calls to say he must have the other ~$5000 before he can deliver them to me. (Check is picked up days before the cabinets are surrendered) Here's a partial list of the things that are wrong:
----Doors don't meet. When closed, you can see the contents inside the cabinets.
----I chose a certain type of drawer, but an entire bank of drawers comes in another
style.
----An entire cabinet has to be ripped out and redone. Too large.
----Doors are warped and must be re-fabricated. "Will put a rush on this order."
It is now 13 weeks and counting. Is my kitchen finished? Am I pleased with the results? Am I happy I chose JB Home Improvement? NO, NO, and NO! They are enormously incompetent. They work with a fabricator from "out of state" who is enormously incompetent.
To estimate a job will take 4 weeks and at the 13 week mark STILL NOT DELIVER THE PRODUCT is inexcusable. The whole job was so grossly mishandled that my contractor walked away. JB is now responsible for finishing the installation, adding crown molding, and attaching the door/drawer pulls. AND HAMID IS UPSET THAT THEY HAVE TO DO THIS.
So my advice to you is this: Go elsewhere for your construction needs. Find a business that is competent and deals with competent vendors. Save yourself time, money and enormous aggravation.
