I only discovered it once I got home. When I confronted the shop owner, Pat, he admitted to the damages but communication from that point on became challenging and more difficult than it needed to be. There were long gaps without his response and at times the tone felt dismissive or unnecessarily tense, which made the situation even more stressful. I've made many attempts to work with Pat to find a fair and reasonable solution. To this day, I'm actually still waiting for a reply to my last message asking again to discuss a reasonable solution. After repeated non-responses and apathetic communication, it became clear that no compromise would be reached. The only option he is willing to offer is the one solution I clearly stated I'm not comfortable with: bringing my car back this same shop that damaged it in the first place. Given the damages my car received from 5 Stars Automotive, my hesitation is understandable. I even tried to negotiate a different solution by providing multiple repair estimates from other reputable auto shops and he responded by calling this practice "dishonest" (very ironic, I know). I'm leaving this review because I believe it's important to be transparent about my experience. I put my trust in this shop to restore my car's appearance, but instead I'm forced to deal with additional damages they caused.

The repair quote I received did not specifically exclude the reflector repair, and it included a charge for "additional materials." Because of that, I reasonably believed the visible reflector damage was included as part of the repair. When I called the office before making the appointment, they didn't tell me that the reflector itself will not be fixed. When the technician arrived, he informed me that they could only repair the dents above and below the reflector, and that the damaged reflector itself was not included. When I called Bumper Buddies for clarification, I was told that because I, as the customer, did not specifically request reflector repair, it was not included in the quote even though the dents directly above and below the reflector were included. As a customer, I relied on professionals' expertise to evaluate the photos and provide an accurate estimate. If a major visible part of the damage was not included, that should have been communicated with the customer or clearly stated in the quote rather than assumed to be excluded. It's not unreasonable for customer to expect the communication of "hey, I see your reflector was also damaged, but we cannot fix the reflector itself, but we can fix the dent above and below it". The repair quote may have matched their internal interpretation of the estimate, but it did not match a customer's reasonable expectation based on the photos submitted. During my follow-up call with Nick, he repeatedly stated that it's a "communication error" and the quote did not include reflector replacement because I had not specifically requested it. That explanation raised even more concerns for me. As a customer, I relied on their expertise to identify and quote the visible damage shown in the photos. I should not be expected to name every individual damaged part or anticipate every technical detail in order to receive an accurate quote. If I had the professional knowledge to identify every repair item myself, I likely would not have needed their service in the first place. That is exactly why I turned to them for an estimate. Based on this experience, I would not feel confident on any future estimates from them unless every single item is spelled out in writing beforehand.

Once the insurance did whatever they did on their end I very quickly received a call from them to bring it in for an estimate. Angie the front desk lady was wonderful and very sweet. Scheduling was super easy and painless. The work didn't take terribly long at all. When I picked it up it looked great AND my pearl white paint matched perfectly!! When I got home and we looked at it a bit closer we did see something that was "off". I called them back to let them know. They told me to bring it back in and they would make it right. And they sure did! I will absolutely recommend this place to anyone who needs any car body work/repairs.

Anyway, I filed a claim with my insurance company and they sent my claim to this location closer to my work site. Every process from scheduling the estimate through the pickup process was smooth, with the exception of a little delay as my vehicle is co-owned and I think they got a mix up with the names on the claim, but it was all sorted out. My vehicle was estimated to be done by Tues, 11/4/25; however, I received a call this morning that my vehicle would probably be done today, and sure enough, it was! I left work a little early to drop off my rental and pick my car up and upon inspection, it looks perfect and they also washed my car so it was nice and clean! I mainly dealt with Anna Ramos and she was very friendly and provided excellent customer service! I also spoke with another employee and dealt with the estimator initially and both were super friendly and helpful as well.
