The absolute best mechanics in town! They are super honest and trustworthy and are family owned. I've been coming here for over 15 years and they always do a good job and at a fair price. I don't go anywhere else and send all my family and friends their way. read more

Finally! A mechanic I can trust. I am very skeptical about auto shops after getting burned by inexperienced mechanics and/or shady business practices. I was referred to McMillen's from my son's friend and gave them a shot. Let's just say their experience and professionalism is shows. Without boring with details, they immediately found the problem with my 2001 Chevy truck, which other mechanics (and me) couldn't figure out and fixed it quickly and for a fair price. I can't wait to take my other cars in and take care of the problems I've been neglecting. read more

We actually found this place based on the great Yelp reviews, and we're so glad we did! My husband was having issues with his 2009 G37, and we weren't sure if it was the alternator. He called the shop, and the gentleman who answered gave him a very reasonable and fair quote. We dropped off our car, and he explained he would diagnose the issue first to confirm if it was the alternator. He also mentioned the car might not be ready until the following week, which we completely understood and were fine with. To our surprise, just three hours later, we got a call letting us know it was the alternator and the car was ready for pickup! We are so pleased with the level of service and how well we were treated. It felt like they genuinely cared about helping us. We highly recommend this shop and will definitely be bringing our car here for future services. read more

Excellent honest mechanics. They had a chance to overcharge me, and didn't. I appreciate that honesty. I will always come back here.

Been to McMillen's before. Always had great service and fair price. I steering box needed to be replaced. I got one quote for over $5k. Mike did some checking and was able to find me a rebuilt unit and I was out the door at a fraction of the other quote. read more

I don't write a lot of yelp reviews because I reserve it for truly the ones that deserve, like this one. I am so glad I found them through a referral for pre-purchase inspection of a 2001 car that I wanted to buy from nearby dealership. This is a father and son shop (Mike Sr & Jr) that has been around for over 50 years. I dealt with them remotely & quickly felt very comfortable talking to Mike Sr., who's just a straight up honest & knowledgeable guy, and you can tell that he runs his business out of passion, not just trying to make money off you. Felt the same when I talked to Mike Jr, and they both even gave me some really good feedback about the dealership I was dealing with. They knew that I was calling from out of town and could had easily treated me like a one off transaction, but I felt they really took care of me like a long-term customer. Their inspection helped me make my purchase decision. I highly recommend them for any car work that you need!! read more

Use them on a consistent basis for my my automobile needs- great people and family. Doesn't BS about what they can and can't do. read more

Today, after having received a few different quotes from different mechanics and shops, once again, I received quality work for the replacement of my ignition switch at HALF the price what others were asking. This is in addition to finding a faulty wire, and a troublesome reassembly, which I am certain took up quite a bit of time. I stand my ground, these mechanics know their stuff, and are honest to the T. My previously dead car started up like new, and I couldn't be happier. For extra love and support of the business, Mike Senior said he likes sour candies, and if individually wrapped, he will place them in his giveaway jar for customers. Warning though - chocolates will likely go to his grandson. read more

Great local family business that has been here for 50 years. Reasonably-priced. Personable and professional and I always enjoy stopping by when I'm in the area and always get great quality work done on my car, no worries! You cannot go wrong here..and yes, 5 stars!!! read more

These guys are the best! Honest family owned ! I do not trust anybody else with my Chevy

18 months ago had radiator replaced and heater core replaced and brakes done as well. Now my radiator is leaking and has to be replaced and the heater does not work even though that was replaced. 5 months after the brakes were done all of them had to be replaced since they put on the wrong pads that destroyed the drums , rotors and pads. So pissed off at this place!!!! read more

I just came from there 10 minutes ago. They checked my "check-engine" light code and told me what the problem was. The owner was honest enough to tell me that I just need a new gas cap. I told him I already bought one. They explained what I should do next and referred me to another shop (Freddy's) if problem persists. Meantime, they turned off the light and asked me to observe first if the problem will come back. If it does, try replacing a cap directly bought from a dealer. He also said it's safe to drive it. How much did he charge me? NOTHING. read more

This business is nothing less than top tier professionalism and quality. They have expertly taken care of my 2011 Honda Accord, 1955 Buick Century and 1953 Buick Roadmaster. They do an excellent job of explaining your car's problems to non mechanics and always have it fixed in a timely manner. They are the only place I will go from now on. read more

I was referred to this establishment by a very close person to me. She had exceptional service so I just showed up with my Isuzu. She was leaking water from the pump so I felt before it was a big problem, get her fixed. I was asked if I had an appt, which I didn't, but said I'm in no hurry, Mike smiled and went on to finish what he was doing. Within 5 mins Mike the elder approached, took my name, number and diagnosis, said he would call me with his. Straight to the point and solid! I was called the next day with a laundry list of problems, told it could be finished in a day and when asked for the price I was floored. What a deal! I recommend and will definitely be back for all my motor needs! Love love love this place! It's been a week and my car is the best it's been in a year! Very Happy! read more

Anyone needing a reliable somewhere to take there car need not look any further! Mike was referred to me by a good friend, and I'm so glad I was. My head gasket blew and all the other places ( including where I always go) I called wouldn't want to touch the issue. I thought I was going to have to get a new car but Mike assured me he would have it fixed and he was true to his word. I got my car back in a really timely manner and for a very fair price. Would highly recommend coming to McMillens read more

Man where do I start. Purchased a brand new engine(347 Stroker) from Team C Performance around the corner. Was on a scavenger hunt to find someone to do an engine swap, all other places I went to where too busy or couldn't do it. Stumbled upon this place, and I talked to Mike Sr, who treated me as if he's known me for years. They did an outstanding job on the engine and it sounds amazing. I hope my dad is smiling down from heaven, thank u MIKE!!! read more

Mike and his son are great. It nice to still have old school mechanics who understand cars without having to consult with a computer first like most dealers. They charge a reasonable shop rate and do quality work. read more

Very nice guy and honest. He couldnt help with my problem but referred me to someone else. I would return in the future and do recommend.

So, I have a 2007 Honda Accord lx V6 engine. It wouldn't start on a Monday morning (of course). I had it towed to McMillen's garage after reviewing yelpers reviews for repair. They were able to determine the problem right away, repaired something else that needed maintenance, and replaced a broken LED taillight for me. I felt comfortable with my communications with Mike and the price was good. I would definitely return to McMillen's garage for future services. read more

McMillen's Garage - Auto Repair Near Me - Bellflower, California

I took my 2001 Ford Focus here for a new clutch and to also have a new driver side window motor installed. The repairs were reasonably priced and completed in a timely manner. After bringing the car home and letting it sit overnight I noticed a large puddle of an oily substance on my garage floor. Mind you that I'm a commercial plumber and I'm always parking in brand new parking garages so it's very important that my car has no leaks. With that said, At first I called them and who ever I spoke with treated me like I was lying and said that oil has nothing to do with the clutch, but said to bring it back so they could check it out. When I arrived the " son " took the car the the rear of the shop and put it up in the air on the lift. He confirmed that my cars clutch does run on a type of " clutch oil " so that part was cleared up. Then he explained that the plug at the top of the reservoir is not a sealed plug. He said that he must have put to much fluid in and was leaking from this non sealed plug. He removed the plug and the oil clutch fluid came shooting out. He laughed and said " yes it appears I put to much". He let it spill till it stopped and reinstalled the plug. He then said that if it continues to leak, to just give it some time. He said once the excess fluid has leaked out it would be fine. Over the next year or 2 the car continued to leak clutch fluid. I had to put cardboard under it or just find street parking when going to work. At the time, it was very difficult for me to take the car back as I was working 10 hour days at the building I was plumbing and did not have an extra vehicle to drive if it needed to be dropped off and kept for a few days. And also they are not open on the weekends so taking it there then was also not an option. I just kept hoping that the excess fluid would finally stop and it didn't. Then I got hurt at work. I injured my back and couldn't walk for 3 months. I went through a year of physical therapy and the last thing on my mind was the leaking clutch fluid. So now 3 or 3 1/2 years had gone by. At this point I figured I was pretty much stuck with it. Then all of the sudden the window motor they replaced stopped working. It was a rainy season and I was finally physically able to take the car back over to them. I told them about the window and had to explain and refresh his mind on what had happened with the clutch fluid. They said to drop the car off, they'd take a look and let me know. After a couple days, they called and said my car was ready to pick up. I arrived and they said I owed them $175 for the window motor and that the clutch fluid was actually not leaking from the plug but that it was actually leaking somewhere between where the clutch attaches to the transmission. Then he informed me that they would not fix it because it was out of warranty. I paid the $175 for the window and left the shop very disappointed. I understand that it's partially my fault for not getting the car back sooner. But was also mislead by them in the first place when they mis diagnosed the leak with the plug and they said " eventually it will stop when fluid is below reservoir plug". My busy work schedule and injury, and also them not being open on the weekends did not help either. I understand that it was out of warranty but the fact that I did originally bring it back within days of the original repair should have been enough for them to honor their work. The fact that the window motor only lasted 2 years ( did not drive for over a year after injury) was also very disappointing. Now I need to upgrade to more of a luxury type of vehicle because of my injury and it's very hard to drive a small seated car with a clutch. Now I can't even sell the car because the fluid leak is so bad. Also I'm not sure how long this clutch will even last with this going on? The picture below is what it looks like everyday. I'm constantly cleaning my garage floor and have used every old t-shirt I own in doing so. Not to mention dealing with my wife who is very annoyed about the oil on the floor after we spent $2,500 refining it. Now she has a nice garage floor with a big poodle of oil on it. Needless to say we do not use this shop anymore and wouldn't recommend them to anyone... read more

I had McMillen replace a water pump in my car. Easy operation, I would expect. Apparently I was told that he broke some screws or nuts on the thing and just put it on with glue - smooth, guys. While it wasn't highway robbery, the job wasn't cheap, either - the upper end of what the internet says you should pay for jobs. Well, that water pump cause me a lot of trouble over the years. My car had all sorts of problems and I didn't know what it was until someone more meticulous did the job. The owners and workers there are nice and more or less honest. I just had a bad and expensive experience, so I can't in good conscience recommend it too heavily. read more
