BBQ in Kansas City......there seem to be a million great options. This place is a little hidden in a strip mall. Years ago I had their food from their great food truck and decided it was time for a rematch. BBQ in KC should be amazing, rich and smokey before you add any sauce and then the sauce just completes the flavor profile.......if you can't manage that you won't last in KC......Jazzy Bs doesn't disappoint! Brisket lean (I hate it when half of my brisket is fat) large portions.....great, crispy tots. Daughter #2 had fish and chips....huge perfectly cooked portions (only problem was no tartar sauce?). A coworker told me about this restaurant and highly recommend the turkey sandwich. Yesterday I decided to stop in. The Price on combo to me was high but I know everyone has increased their prices. One thing I'm not a fan of is BBQ on a bun but that's just me. Should have asked if could I have meat on bread. Didn't really taste smoke in meat but I could see meat had the smoke ring. Thought such a large bun could have a little more meat but the taste was okay. Bake bean had a mix of black beans and pork beans from a can. Little too sweet taste but some may like their baked beans sweet. I'm used to onion and meat in my baked beans. Nice little crowd in the restaurant and atmosphere was nice. read more

Met a friend for dinner on a Friday evening. A very casual atmosphere--friendly staff and live music (always a plus!). It was busy, and the server was a tad forgetful, but his friendliness and apologetic approach was appreciated and we weren't in a hurry for sure-- Just winding down after a busy week and relaxing! Omg it was my first time to Jazzy B's!! It was amazing! I did a pick up and the staff was friendly and helpful. We had a slab of ribs, no sauce and garlic cheese corn. The ribs fell off the bone and had a perfect smoked flavor. They did not need any sauce!!! The corn was really good. Some cheesy corn is so thick, this cheesy corn had an excellent flavor and a perfect consistency! Highly recommend. I can't wait to go back and try other meats! read more

The place was clean,service was okay by inexperienced young people. When we got our food, the Crab Balls were good,but luke warm at best,and the fried pickles were good. When it came to dig into out main course, my wife's chicken sandwich was huge and good, i haf a half slab of ribs, the flavor was good,but they were cold and came with two small thing od sauce, potato salad was bland and needed salt and the beans were a winner from start to finish. I came into this place sort of looking for a place my husband and I had never been before, this was included on our search for the best hidden eats in Lee's Summit since buying a house out here. I love that this place was really boppin, a lot of foot traffic means that product is being pushed out constantly and we all know what that means - FRESH FOOD! This place has the feeling and soul of a giant food truck and you can smell it from outside, too. My husband got the Burnt Ends and Brisket plate, I got beer battered fish and chips and Crab Balls. The food was really good, I especially love the crab balls. My only weird thing that I ran into was how burnt the fish tasted, I know it wasn't burnt but I could tell the oil they used to deep fry food was in dire need of a change because I know the taste of burnt oil when I taste it. I worked with using and cleaning deep fryers for ten years and all during college and the taste is very specific. I could not really finish my food because the burnt oil was pretty overwhelming and I wasn't able to reheat it later at home either for that very same reason. I would love to return and try again, hopefully I can catch them when their oil isn't way past its use. My husband loved his food and it even reheated well a few days later, their BBQ sauce is truly worth the visit here above all things. read more

Place was empty at 1330 on a Friday pm. So I literally had the place to myself. Interesting vibe inside. Full slab ($29) comes ala carte. Small (Reg) sides are $4. I tried their famous Miles Davis baked beans, Blue Cheese potato salad, and cole slaw and got a free side of apple jicama salad which was delicious! Ribs were so tender that I thought they were raw, but they were just perfectly cooked, but they came out 'dry' with two bbq sauces to choose from. I typically prefer my ribs wet with some carmelized sauce on them but these were deliciously made. Not over cooked or over smoked. The Miles Davis baked beans were really extraordinary made with black and red beans! The coleslaw and potato salad really didn't have much flavor but were ok. Overall, I'd come regularly if I lived closer than San Antonio. If you do, then you should! Enjoy! read more

You have to order from the counter, get your own utensils, etc., and the BBQ (we ordered wings and bb ribs) at best was average. Went based on the reviews but frankly not impressed. Ordered a two meat platter with ribs and burnt ends and spouse has brisket sandwich. Both got spicy sauce, which comes from the kitchen. I'd rather have it on the table to try both sauces. The brisket was sliced, then sliced into little flat squares (not cubes). It was lean but fell out of the sandwich. Burnt ends were lean but not caramelized. Ribs were lean and meaty but clinging to the bone. The slaw was meh and the fries would have been good without the added spices. Another reviewer said it as brown sugar. The spices in the rubs on the meat were also atypical and did not agree with either of us. We both had severe indigestion all night. The seating was very uncomfortable and I left with a back ache. Hard benches had no back support. If you are looking for traditional Q, this might not be the place. read more

First and probably our last visit. The food was ok, but the meat wasn't heated enough and was still kind of cold. The thing that really bothered us was the two teenaged girls banging on the piano for a good 30 minutes. They weren't attempting to play, but just banging on the keys. It was irritating. We had been enjoying the oldies music, but their noise drowned it out. Apparently they are related, because they talked to several workers but nobody stopped them.
