Update: Bold Moving and Storage did offer to pay the $200 fee to repair our dresser which is a lot more than the 60 cent per pound covered by their insurance. One positive I failed to note in my original review is that they did provide 45 days of free storage opposed to standard 30 days. For these reasons, I'm increasing my rating from 1 to 3 stars. ___________________ During the sales and scheduling process, Bold Moving was wonderful. They were flexible and accommodating. They even said they would pack and move liquids if they were not "Flammable or combustible items (gasoline, kerosene, propane, etc.). Everything changed once they showed up. The packers were very nice but told us they could not pack any liquids. When I followed up with the salesperson they responded, "I thought it was only flammable liquids, but you could pack non flammables in a plastic bin not in cardboard boxes in case it leaks." The real challenge started when scheduling the delivery of our items after they were in storage for about 6 weeks. I emailed two weeks in advance asking for a specific delivery date. It was accepted as the first available delivery date, and I was told they would call the day before to confirm the delivery time. When I didn't receive that call, I followed up with them first via email then via phone. I was told they would put our stuff on a truck, and it would be delivered "sometime early next week" which was about 5 days later. It was clear they would not make the date requested but no one reached out to tell us. This was extremely frustrating since I had a business trip the following week. I followed up daily but could not get a confirmed delivery date. I canceled my business trip on a Monday when someone told me they would going to try and deliver our items that week. He was very clear that he would contact me when there was an update. Therefore, I stopped following up. On Wednesday, I received a phone call from the driver. They were 20 minutes away from the empty house I was not at. Due to the lack of communication in the delivery process, everything felt like a fire drill. I lost money on the business trip that had to be rescheduled and incurred additional costs extending our temporary housing. But, I was relieved to finally have our things. The delivery team was also nice, but many items were broken. The leg on one of our dressers was broken. They blamed the packers because the dresser was just wrapped with all the original items inside making it heavier. Some dressers were emptied but some were still full. I could here the contents of our nightstands rattling around inside. Although wardrobe boxes were used, none of our clothes were hung up - just thrown in the box with the hangers on them. Kitchen items were just thrown in boxes. Some of boxes weren't even properly labeled - just "K" for kitchen. Lastly, the delivery team left scuff marks all over the walls with deep dings in some places on the wall. This was my worst moving experience ever. I truthfully believe in using Yelp to uplift businesses but I also believe it is equally as important to shine light on the businesses that don't conduct themselves in a professional manner. When moving from CT to VA, I shopped around and was really moved by Bold Moving and how much pride they took in their business and providing excellent customer service. I went ahead and booked as I trusted them. Unfortunately, my items got damaged in the move. I moved end of June 2023. I was told by Josh to fill out a claims form which I submitted in July 2023. They confirmed receipt a few days later and said the team would begin assessing the claim. Fast forward to October 20 2023. Still no type of follow up whatsoever. I reached out to them given they had had almost three months to "assess the claim". He promptly responded with a document stating based on the valuation protection I selected when booking, I was entitled to 60 cents per pound to total $7.20. Of course, this is no where near the value of replacing these items but you know what, that's the protection plan I selected so I'm not going to even argue. I respond back with my mailing address and asked for my cheque to be mailed to me at their earliest convenience. Of course at this point, the $7.20 is not lifesaving BUT it's the principle. For Such a business to really sell themselves about prioritizing customer service; and now I'm getting the run around after they damaged my belongings...I wanted them to pay what they say I deserve based on my valuation protection plan. Nov 29, 2023, still no cheque and no correspondence from Bold Moving. I send another email. Feb 19, 2024, still no cheque and no correspondence from Bold Moving. March 11, 2024, I reach out again expressing my disappointment in the absolute lack of customer service and professionalism. Of course with firmer words, I get a prompt response. He asked if I was available for a call and I responded with my telephone number. No call. No cheque. Today is now April 19th and I've once again sent an email. This has been a pisspoor experience. I understand things get damaged; I get it, shit happens but for a company to completely refuse to take any responsibility and give a client the run around; this is just not the level of service that I expect or deserve. This was arguably the worst encounter I have ever had with a business. From start to finish, almost nothing occurred as it was discussed that it would. All that did happen, is our stuff arrived (weeks later than we were told) and only a few items were damaged, which is the only good thing to come out of this incredibly unprofessional and wildly frustrating chain of events that occurred over the course of several weeks. Ill try not to bore you with the details but here is a quick summary of the events from the start to finish of our move from South Florida to Boston, MA. For starters our original quote over the phone for a "mini move" as they called it was for $1800. I am not ignorant to the fact that that is a very low unrealistic price for a long-distance move. After we did a video call with Bold moving, as they couldn't send someone to our place in south Florida, the price became $3554.93. We agreed on that as well as we needed to move in on the 22nd of July as the building had a freight elevator, we needed to make reservations for. I was told this was not a problem at all and I have the text messages with someone at the company to prove that. We received a "heads up" email from them on 7/16, and from this email we found out that we needed to pack all out own stuff and that there was absolutely no way we would be moved in by the 22nd. They showed up late afternoon on the 19th in what looked like a rental truck, told me it would be nearly $1000 more due to amount of stuff even though they did a video call with me to go through what I had. It was probably in no small part because we had to buy nearly $800 worth of bins to pack our stuff once we found out they weren't going to help with any of that. Then they loaded our stuff, and this is where the fun really began. My wife has an air tag on one of our items that was being moved. For the next 2 weeks we watched our entire home worth of things go to at least 4 different homes that Bold was moving in, sit in their storage facilities for days on end, all while nobody at the company could give me a straight answer. Nobody made us aware that this was a shared move, although we should have assumed this. We were back and forth on almost a daily basis for 2 weeks just trying to get an answer on when our stuff would arrive as our building needed to know and we needed to know as we were essentially homeless living with my wife's parents and in hotels. Again, to sum this up we were told moving in for the 22d would be no issue, so we had the audacity to think we would be moved in around that time. Our things finally did arrive Aug 1st at of course a time that the freight elevator wasn't available, and my wife and I were both working, we were given no real heads up or accurate arrival time. This is my favorite part. The "Owner" of the company got on the phone with me as I refused to pay the balance prior to taking inventory on our stuff, making sure it was all there and not damaged. This so-called professional business owner proceeded to hold our stuff hostage until balance was paid and literally said "Do you want your stuff or not" He wasn't even willing to come back later when I was home from work and when my wife was off a work call, after us watching our stuff do an east coast tour for 2 weeks while they moved in other houses and stored our stuff in different locations. To sum it up do yourself a favor and use a real moving company. From start to finish this was a mess and like I said earlier, probably the worst experience I have had with any business. To have a business owner act that was actually shocking, I wouldn't touch this joke of a company with a 10-foot pole ever again and I'll make sure everyone I know in Florida and up in New England doesn't either. BUT ...Terrible communication from sales regarding insurance, and terrible management about delivery time and date, TERRIBLE customer service. They delivered 4:30-10:30 PM in the rain in the dark it is not really a surprise this crated table top broke. I am sure their guys were tired. ZERO responsibility for damage to items. ASK ABOUT THEIR INSURANCE POLICY- they do not pay if they break anything. They also do not ask you when they are selling you their services, or at pick up to choose an insurance policy, SO they choose the one where they are least liable, and ask you to sign during a hectic and stressful time. AWFUL.....lesson learned. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY- Better off using a more reputable company. I wish I had had time to look at reviews before hiring them, and am just super grateful only two things were broken- although the glass top 8ft x 4ft below cost $2700 to replace and they are offering me $300- and $50 for a $600 ottoman. I have been lucky in life to not have come across people like this often, and it has been a great reminder to do your homework. Like I said the pick up team and delivery team were very nice - sorry their employers aren't. Will not use them again. I had to put all my stuff in a storage unit in a rush just before the COVID. When I finally found a place to move in in Miami I was ready to take all my things, photo equipment, art and all my furniture. It was a lot I didn't wanted to do it myself so I hired Bold Moving Company to do it for me. They were on time at the storage unit. Loaded the truck like masters and I realized how much stuff I had to put in my new place which is 7 times smaller than my previous place. They arrived at the new place and unloaded the truck and carefully put everything in the new place. We all were amazed at the size of the new place and all the stuff I had. They patiently and carefully arranged my things. I was so impressed nothing broke. My art work was intact! There was nothing missing. The crew was very respectful and on time. This was my first experience with hiring someone to move. We had an excellent experience with Josh in the beginning with scheduling, estimates, payments etc. The team - Ace, Brandon, Josh and Jaquez were just amazing. They showed up a day early (calling ahead of time to confirm this was ok!) and started some packing immediately. Returning the next morning, They finished packing the next evening (3+ bedroom home) and put up with my micro-managing without complaints. I had a place ready to go so my stuff was on the truck solo and arrived the next day to my new home (from Charleston to Ohio). They even communicated with me that they were running behind schedule. They unloaded within 3.5 hours. The guys (Ace, Brandon, Josh and Jaquez)were courteous and kind and also fun to be around. I've ready plenty of reviews on movers and it's all very daunting. Most of my furniture pieces are antiques from family members dating back to the late 1800s and so far (still unpacking!) everything is fine. I needed quick and efficient but also within a budget. "Relax, It's Just Stuff" Is what we were repeatedly told this past Saturday July 9th, 2022 when we called the owners of Bold Movers, Josh and Chris, to notify them that the contents of our truck were in complete disarray and the 3 men unpacking it were handling our carefully pack and beloved items with immense carelessness. "Relax, it's just stuff, we have a claims department that deals with this" was a frequent phrase used, by a MOVING company, a company that exists for this single purpose and states on their website "Moving isn't just about stuff. It's about memories." (https://boldmovingandstorage.com/) We are beyond shocked and disgusted with the way this company handled our things and spoke to us when we called them to discuss our concerns. We started our move a day late on June 29th after we were told our truck had broken down en route to us on our assigned moving day. This is one of those unfortunate but understandable events so we just worked extra quickly the next day to get the house we were moving out of packed and tidied up before the new owners arrived. In our initial phone conversations with Sharon from Bold Movers we were told our truck would be a day or 2 behind us to let us get to our destination and be prepared for the truck's arrival at our rented storage unit. 10 DAYS later, after multiple inquiries, our truck arrived to our storage unit. But it was not our truck. It was a different truck than the one that we had seen being packed with our items in it. During that 10-day period our items had been unpacked and then re-packed into a new truck with no notification or consent from us that this was happening. When the truck arrived to our destination and was opened there were boxes strewn about, toppled over, crushed. Our larger furniture items were laying in awkward positions or on their side with all weight distributed unevenly on fragile legs, armrests, and other delicate areas. As the 3 men started to unpack our truck it became clear that they did not know how to efficiently and effectively move items. When we expressed concern about this during our phone conversation that day we were told that "They are in training" as an excuse. But there was no training, the men barely spoke to each other. There was no working together. They carried huge and heavy items independently, never 2 men to move anything. Heavy boxes and furniture were hoisted up in to the air and thumped down on dollies, or just dropped. Our large antique chest of drawers was attempted to be pick up by 1 man, turned on its side placing all weight on 2 wooden legs, one of which, unsurprisingly, snapped off. Boxes labeled "fragile" and "this side up" were knocked over and upside down. Multiple wooden legs of furniture are completely broken off and some we have been unable to find. Wheels are missing off of antique furniture, we found one wheel on the floor in the actual storage unit. Both the washer and dryer have large dents in the metal that were not previously there and we actually witnessed one of the movers attempt to move them down the storage facility hallway by violently shaking them back in forth and scraping them along the concrete floor to move them by himself. Boxes were dropped, dragged and thrown despite our begging them to be more careful. The owners of Bold Movers told us that because we packed our own boxes "you probably didn't pack them right and no insurance company is going to reimburse for incorrectly packed boxes." We assured him that the boxes were packed incredibly carefully, tight, to the top and very internally supported. We have previously packed boxes traveling from California to Massachusetts in a large move and those items arrived intact so how is it that in a move less than half that far from New York to Massachusetts nearly every box has damage to its exterior and interior? Josh at that point asked me what I do for a living, I wasn't sure why that was relevant but I told him I'm an Emergency Room Nurse, to which he aggressively responded "Do I come to your work and tell you how to do your job?" There was also profanity used and directed at me in this same conversation. We did not ask for this, we did so much research on moving companies before we decided to go with Bold Movers, mostly because they have a Better Business Bureau accreditation, and they were initially very friendly and informative on the phone. They were a little more expensive than others but we went with them with the expectation that their performance would reflect this. It did not. We had the worst experience with this company at packing, storage and unpacking. As one of the reviewers notes, they are good at sales but packaging, unpacking and caring for your items is not in their list of priorities. Between packing, moving and unpacking, they destroyed about $5,000 worth of items between oil damaged Restoration Hardware chairs, destroyed lampshades because heavy items were placed on top of them, glasses destroyed at packing or because of mistreatment of the boxes, clothes, shoes, lamps, fans, and much more. We took pictures of the damaged items and sent them to the owner. He was sorry for the destruction but told us, correction, screamed at us that it was our fault and if we wanted things cared differently, we should have packed ourselves. He screamed at us, called us liars and more. We are sorry we didn't see these reviews before selecting this company and we hope this serves as warning for those considering services. 1 star is too high of a rating for them. Oh my gosh where do I begin. What a freaking nightmare!! We paid on June 11, 2024, to have our son moved from Florida to Maryland. We were promised by Joe, seven to ten days at the latest. My son was due to begin a new job July 1st and needed to move fast. The movers were moving his mechanics tools which he needed for work. He was due to begin work on July 1st. Joe promised us his belongings would be there in plenty of time. After they picked up his stuff, I was lied to, harrassed by one of their staff, who was the nastiest person you would ever want to meet. He cursed at me and even told me they would hold our belongings hostage. I had had it and called an attorney. The attorney who was very professional, told me before I spent money to sue to get my son's stuff to call the Attorney General's office. I called the Attorney General's office in Richmond Virginia. The lady I spoke to was wonderful! She took my complaint and advised me to contact FMCSA and file a complaint. FMCSA is the federal office that oversees interstate movers. ( She also told me her office was sending three other complaints to FMCSA and would include mine. We followed her advice and contacted FMCSA. They got right back to us and low and behold I got a call from the owner Josh the next day. ( I had tried several times and several methods to contact him only to never hear back). With the help of FMCSA he got his belongings. They were finally delivered June 29th or 30th. Now the actual men that moved the stuff were great! Very professional. It is the people that book and manage the move that are the problem. They lie, they keep your stuff in storage and do not tell you. It is called holding your stuff hostage. They will not give you a delivery date, will threaten you if you complain and laugh when you get upset. Please know your rights!! Reach out to the Attorney General's office in Richmond if you need to. Then file with FMCSA! They will help you and your are adding to the negative record of this business. Just really do your research and find someone you who has a professional operation. You may pay more but it will be worth it. We paid $3590 and about $500 in tips to these jokers for a one befroom apt. Also do not use a broker. Bold Moving is not a broker but brokers are just as bad and assume no responsibility. If it had not been for Greg I would not have given even 1 star. The team of 4 showed up immediately following another move and were not prepared at all. (I blame the "office" on that not the 4 men.) They had the garbage from the last move and they dumped it in our parking lot and it set there for the two days it took them to load. I requested and paid for a full pack and they arrived with no materials. 2 of the 4 men left to go buy packing materials and they were gone for 2.5 hours. When we arrived at our new house on day 3, there were only 2 men to unpack the entire truck. Greg had to work extra hard because the other gentleman was a pot smoker and spent some time inside of the truck folding blankets. I finally had to ask Greg on day four to move it along, as my furniture was sitting outside for hours. Two major mirrors were broken and dozens of dishes as well. I requested a refund for the mirrors and heard nothing back from the main office. My master bed was also broken. I hired Bold instead of a National company because I wanted to support a small business. What a mistake. Not not hire them you will be sorely disappointed. However, the men were polite. If you decide to go with Bold Moving and Storage, do not use their "Professional Pack" service or find supplemental insurance for your stuff because the chances of finding broken stuff is very high. This is my wife and I's first time finding and hiring a moving company and in my naivete I didn't know all my options when it came to insuring our stuff for our move. Apparently the industry standard is $0.60 per pound per article and was not quoted for any other options. After our move this now seems like a scam to be careless and move as quickly as possible. The employees were nice enough and I didn't watch as they packed our stuff which in hindsight I probably should have supervised some now. To start, at pickup a mirror was broken and furniture was slid across a hardwood floor causing $300 worth of damage. The employee who broke the mirror was kind enough to pay for the mirror up front. Our problems really began at drop off. As things were coming in we had an antique wooden chair that was broken in multiple places, all of our dining room chairs had the legs bent like they had something very heavy stacked on top of it, an ottoman that was water damaged, and we were lucky if we found a box that did not have something damaged in it. Pictures were just tossed into boxes unwrapped and unprotected. A lot of broken glass and even a hanger through a picture. My sound system was thrown in a box still wired together. Somehow it was thought a good place for multiple lampshades was at the bottom of a box with marble cheeseboards on top of them. A dresser that has made it's way all over the country since the 1990s has finally found some damage after getting gouges all down the side that will need to be professionally restored. When I called to ask about starting the claim process I asked how they could charge what they did for the "Professional Pack Service" and the response I received was "Well it got packed, regardless of whether or not mistakes were made while doing so". So overall, they caused an estimated $2000-3000 of damages and the claims process is laborious and confusing. Then, because of their $0.60 per pound per article policy their offer to resolve the claim was $76. So bending the legs on $800 worth of chairs is worth about $40. Avoid this company. read more

I was called and left a VM by quality control (Tom) as a follow up to my review. I have left 3-4 (calls are recorded so they can verify) messages to return my call so I can assume that Bold Moving is not that interested in my situation. To correct the management response, while it is true I did not have the exact apartment number when I booked my long distance move I did have on record that I was moving to a one bedroom first floor apartment from a 3 bedroom 3 story townhome. I specifically reiterated the fact several days before the move when I updated my inventory that the new apartment complex would not allow tractor trailers. But I will let that "misunderstanding" pass. If Bold is the "expert" on moves they should perhaps clarify or caution clients that many developments and residential will not allow these vehicles and a shuttle transport and additional $$$ will be required. (do you really the average person knows about this??? ) I know many people relocating into townhomes/condos/apts and gated communities that I assume have similar rules. Judging by some recent other reviews I am not the only person who has found themself in this situation. The negatives in my review are also directed at the unprofessional attitude of the business owner and the damages incurred in the shuttle transport. I have no problem paying for shuttle if that's what is required, but I did not appreciate paying extra for my personal items to be destroyed in this end process. And as far as the auto transport "referral" here is my comment. "If you tell your client that you don't offer a car transport service but your friend Ronnie will take good care of you, most people would take that as a warm handoff, not a simple referral." read more

This company used high-pressure borderline bullying tactics to try to get you to commit. Their quote came in $1000 higher than other companies and when provided with information from the other companies, the salesperson proceeded to discredit the other companies trying to justify their rate. Lastly, when the salesperson tried to pressure me into booking by stating that a moving company isn't something I should shop around for, I countered by telling him that it absolutely is. Josh, one of the owners of this business according to him, GUARANTEED our belongings would be delivered by July 10, when they were instead delivered on July 15. No one from the company contacted us to let us know they would not be delivered when guaranteed, we had to contact them. We were told catastrophes within the company had occurred two weeks prior, we were told one of the employees had been killed in a car accident, which left the company short of workers. This however did not explain why the company did not let us know all of this five days before, when they picked up our belongings. Beyond this, Josh bragged about how companies without branded moving trucks were not ones to be trusted, however the moving truck that delivered our belongings was an enterprise moving truck, showing our stuff had obviously been moved from one truck to another. This moving process from moving truck to moving truck explains the thousands of dollars worth of damage (before tax) to our belongings (one of our tvs, our printer, two mirrors, our plates, our cement coffee table, clock, tv stand, dresser). Cement is pretty hard, so it really would have had to have been extremely poorly handled to be broken in the way that it was (this is a 250 lb table, it's not fragile). The icing on the cake was after leaving our review (almost verbatim to the above review) on the Better Business Bureau website, Bill B., according to him the president of the company, let us know that we would receive $200 for the damage to our belongings, if we took our review down. If we didn't take it down, we would receive nothing. Neither my husband or I appreciate threats, bribery, or deceitful businesses, so it looks like we will receive nothing, and Bold Moving and Storage will keep an unresolved complaint on the BBB website. I will boldly say NEVER use this company. They'll promise you the moon and give you hell. The owner was nasty and kind of bullied me into signing when I was still getting various estimates. I decided to cancel but another partner, Josh ,convinced me not to. I was moving on a Holiday weekend and signed on because they were going to accommodate me. They didn't .Three days before the scheduled move I get a call we're coming tomorrow. The contract says they have 3 day window. The relationship went downhill from there Estimate was off by 3 grand . I had some issues with my house and had to delay delay the delivery and put my things in storage(2 grand). Getting my stuff was a nightmare. I was expected to give a weeks notice but I, in turn, was never given more than a few hours notice. When I finally got my furniture, things were broken and missing. All my pots and pans and bakeware, a ladder, a carpet cleaner as well as my personal papers(titles , birth certificates and so on) . I also got someone's else's things. Boxes were crushed. All in all around one thousand dollars worth of damage. I put in a claim and I have not heard back yet. They say they pay by weight (I wasn't told about the extra insurance they offer). First off I would like to give props to the gentlemen who loaded, moved and unloaded our house (Ali, Jaleel, Mike, Abdul, Malik and Dana). They were kind, respectful, hard working and cared about what they were doing. They were very easy to get along with. Saying that, I wasn't too impressed with the high pressure salesmanship beforehand and I wasn't happy when my belongings were already half way loaded in one of their new trucks and then unloaded and put into an Enterprise rental truck. This extended the loading time until 11pm. However, my move did happen on time both loading and unloading and if I had questions, I called and got someone to answer. read more

Bold Moving and Storage did a great job with our out of state move and as the package we chose includes disassembling to assemble, nothing that we had to do as they took care of our move completely. I can only speak on behalf of the customer service we had with the initial set up. After our initial conversation, we were not able to proceed using the moving services since my husband's company was paying for it and thus we had to use their vendor. I've moved 3 times in the last 5 years and have dealt with a number of moving companies. Bold Moving and Storage was by far the best moving company I have ever worked with. They took amazing care of all my stuff and worked with me on pick up and drop off times. Another huge difference between Bold and other moving companies was that the quoted price and the actual price were exactly the same. I didn't pay a dime over the original quoted price! Hired Bold to move us from Brooklyn NY to Miami Beach on December 21. Moving sucks and is stressful it old made it smooth the whole way. Initially dealt with Jennifer who, in addition to be competent, was very friendly and informative. The crew of 4 who emptied our apartment kept us posted on arrival time and were spot on in estimating time it took. We drove to Florida and Bold was very accommodating with our schedule. The guys who delivered our stuff also kept us in the loop on their progress. Only 2 guys involved in the drop off but both of them were big strong guys who unloaded and reassembled furniture in less than 3 hours. I researched and spoke with several other companies and was not impressed. All gave the impression that they did not have my interests. All hinted that the price quoted was not written in stone meaning the price would be higher. Bold came in at less than all these jokers and no surprise charges and no breakage. I would never recommend using Bold. We selected Bold and paid significantly more than the companies quoting for our business as we were assured of the extra steps taken to ensure a safe and damage free move. We incurred a significant amount of damage during the move and delivery. We submitted our claim along with extensive documentation and photos (home and personal belongings). We have not received any response to our submission or numerous follow-up phone calls. They demanded full payment before delivery but have not made any attempt to reimburse us for damages incurred. read more

When I let him know that I went with another company he berated me and cursed me out through a text. I have never been dealt with in such an unprofessional manor. Terrible moving company. I paid for a full move which was supposed to include packing everything up disassembling anything that needed to be disassembled, moving it, unpacking it, and reassembling anything that needed to be reassembled . Instead the movers just threw everything in boxes, no labels and did not separate anything so i ended up with a bunch of random stuff just thrown in each box. And when dropping my stuff off at my new location there was no unpacking of any kind so now here I am with a ton of boxes with no labels with random stuff thrown inside that I have to now sort through myself.. also When the movers showed up both times they all wreaked of weed. Very unprofessional. It seems this moving company just hires anybody because the quality of work was very lazy and not what I paid for. I filed a complaint about BOLD Moving & Storage this past Fall with no resolution. Since then I filed in Small Claims Court and BOLD was ordered to pay $4000 in restitution for ruining and/or losing many of my belongings during the move from New York to Massachusetts. This company appealed the ruling, but again lost their case, and were ordered once again to pay $4000 by the Massachusetts Court. On February 23, 2023 a Capias Warrant and an Execution On Money Judgment was issued against BOLD Moving & Storage for non payment. Massachusetts law enforcement do not have jurisdiction across State lines so for the warrant to be issued, the Execution and the Capias needs to be domesticated in Virginia where BOLD Moving & Storage is headquartered. This is a very costly process. BOLD Moving & Storage needs to take responsibility for their poor business practices and be held accountable for the losses they caused to other people's property. read more

We hired this company because we felt at ease with the sales rep, they did not use third party movers, and we were promised our own truck that would NOT be unloaded until it got to our storage unit. In hindsight, I should have taken all the "don't worry about its" as giant red flags! They arrived on the correct day with the wrong size truck and too few moving blankets. The crew was great, but spent the whole day repeatedly telling us that it was not all going to fit because the truck was too small. By the time they were almost through we had made several attempts to call Bold about this but no one called us back. The guys left with what they could fit leaving us with a bunch of furniture still sitting in the garage! We were closing the next day so we had to scramble the next morning to get a storage unit. It took 8 days to get our stuff in Florida, and imagine our horror when we saw an 18 wheeler pull up! We were the fourth and last load on that truck (remember, we were promised our things would not be removed from the original truck) and we were completely mortified as we watched our things come off. Utter disbelief at how haphazardly our furniture was thrown on the truck, half of it unwrapped, crushed boxes, legs snapped off of antique furniture. There were items missing as well as things that were not even ours. The crew seemed embarrassed and the foreman even gave me his cell number "in case you need help getting reparations, I'll vouch for you". Somewhere along the way the crew that did the switch decided to have a little demolition fun! We cannot express the disappointment and shock of how this whole move went and how they responded to it all with their complete and utter lack of remorse or concern to rectify anything (when they bothered to return our calls and emails). A month and a half later they have offered us $150, really just adding insult to injury and have now stopped all communication to date. We will move into our new home in October and will be able to relive this nightmare when we open all the crushed boxes. We highly recommend RUNNING the other way from this company!!! read more

There have been several items damaged, broken and or missing items. There was also, damage to my new home in the process of delivery and set up (as that is what I paid for). That being said, they damaged my bed and left it with the broken cross beams wrong hardware, and in some cases missing hardware. The doorways were torn up where they could not fit the furniture in the rooms. They left me with no email address, phone number and no point of contact to file my claims. Inventories were not filled out at the headings and completely missing ALL information. At the bottom of the inventory there was ONLY one signature (that is unreadable). The inventories were/are generic with NO company information. That is a shady way to work business! They overcharged twice or three times as much as a local mover would require, and gave NO personal experience that would enhance the move. Our possessions are personal, and sometimes are priceless. Their personnel spent much of their time doing face-time on their phones taking care of personal issues rather than taking the time to pack our personal possessions. Their moto is, "Bold Moving and Storage was formed one brisk winter night when four seasoned moving company professionals chatted during their annual ski/snowboarding trip. They all worked for different moving companies and were all equally fed up with an industry where customers were being taken advantage of and the art of moving was being overshadowed by greed and corruption. They shared stories of their frustration and realized something had to change if they wanted to keep working in the industry they loved". What is real sad is your company became part of the problem in the industry rather than the solution. I have 42 pictures of broken, torn, missing hardware, etc., and that does NOT include the missing items. I spoke with their personnel (Tom) and their interest was to come in at .60 cents on the pound. He tried to dismiss the damage done on move-in as "just paint' when the pictures were pretty clear that they gouged chunks of wood finishing as they could not fit some of the furniture into various rooms. They're interest is to keep you "CHEAP" to increase their profits. I have had my household items sent out on numerous occasions. The contents are "supposed" to be banded and secured so that the person getting their household items are "ASSURED" that he or she gets ALL items that were sent. Bold did NOT do that. I was told that if they have to change trucks due to vehicle maintenance issues, they could switch vehicles. The man in charge lacked ANY real experience. He spent much of my time chatting on his phone, doing face time, etc. We had 2 items missing from the shipment; a set of Walkie Talkies 2 way radios blueish gray in color, and a 21 inch computer monitor. By law the claimant has 9 months to file a claim. It took us too long as it was a rather large shipment, and the distance was across country. That being said, the movers have a moral obligation to settle the claim, but have no intent on accepting responsibility: "Boldly going without settling the claim". We figured the loss of missing items, damage to the home on move-in, missing parts, broken parts/items, etc were/is at $3000 dollars, but will probably not see a dime as Tom told me he figured the damage at around $200. That figure is an insult as the missing monitor is worth that much alone! The worst business I have ever worked with. They will be very responsive initially to get your money and then screw you around. Movers initially had been requested on a Wednesday, was told instead they were coming on a Thursday between 8-12. Wednesday night they "updated their time" to come between 1-3 (had to drive 8 hours after this). Move out was fine on June 30. When contacted over the July 4 weekend they said they did not have me on schedule for delivery for the upcoming week, despite that this had been promised while booking. They then stated they didn't have a timeline for when my items would be delivered and it could take up to 30 days. 30 days !!! I had communicated with them during booking that I was going to be out of the state for the second half of July and some of August, so needed advanced (24 hours) notice if they planned to deliver so that I could arrange to drive back and be available. The manager was incredibly rude to me and just kept offering excuses. 19 days went by without any update on delivery and then on a Tuesday at 2pm I got a call that my stuff would be delivered THAT DAY in 5 hours. I don't know many people who can magically cancel work day of to be available , but apparently that is what they thought was reasonable. My husband who is a doctor and was on call for the hospital had to switch shifts last minute to be available since they told me they would leave my stuff on my front porch if I wasn't there. When they arrived, an hour later than they said, they broke a piece off my peloton and when I discussed this with customer service they never sent me a claims form like promised. Would never use again. Don't make the same mistake I did. Reporting to Better Business Bureau and warning as many as I can. read more

Around the middle of August 2022, I hired i Moving and Storage to move my belongings from New York to Georgia. In the beginning, there was much communication and they even sent me many testimonials from other customers. And that they were a "five star" company. Based on that information, I hired them. On the day of the move, the movers were on time. When I arrived at my destination, it took almost twelve (12) days for my things to arrive. As I began to open the boxes, some were damp, others were broken and retaped. Upon opening the boxes, a number of things that have been in my family for more than twenty (20) years were broken, my new printer was making clanging sounds, my wall clock did not work as it should and two (2) boxes were still missing. When I spoke to their representative (Tom), he told me that the boxes were not missing, they were misplaced and that he would check the warehouse and his response was "it's not like we're trying to screw you over". After a few days went by I called him again regarding my items and he sent me a claim form which was not workable. I sent him pictures of the things that were broken. I have tried to reach him by phone and emails with no response. It seems that once they get their final payment which they demand be in cash, they no longer communicate with the customer. Based on the number of items damaged and the ones that cannot be replaced, I will NEVER use them again. read more
