Many different issues occurred. Before any of that, I want to shout out to our tour guide. She did amazing! Horses were knipping (and pestered other horses to the point the other horses would bite or kick at said horse), one was bleeding, when saddling; a horse knocked down an instructor, staff seemed understaffed and overworked. Horses all got agitated when coming back to the barn. Horses were extremely dirty. If offered a discount, have the riders groom them before or after riding? Or just add into the experience. It would be good for riders and horses, alike. Trail was nice. The tour did take an hr, as advertised. read more

Last couple years me and fiancée have come to Jayell and had a great time with no issues... April 6 2024 came to Tennessee from NORTH CAROLINA for my birthday weekend and my brother and his lady came from TX to be with me.. We went to Jayell Ranch to ride the ATV' s and can't believe the experience we had. We signed the waivers online and waiting in line figured we were good to go when we finally get up to the clerk she informs us we have to sign the" DAMAGE DISCLOSURE" Which ok fine I get it but we had to get out of line and then get back in line which makes no sense.. Then we made an appt for 3:40 and by the time we got on the 4 wheelers it was after 5... Absolutely Ridiculous having to wait that long especially when we made an appt. No point in making an appt if you still have to wait.. If your a buisness and are growing and know your growing you should probably make sure you have the appropriate people and equipment to handle it.. This isn't a bash but it's sad that this is happening and probably won't be coming back. Which doesn't matter cause they more people that will wait and pay but it's not exceptable and hopefully they make some changes. read more

Okay, so my friends and I wanted to many activities at one location and felt Jayell Ranch would be the perfect place. Well, it's not so perfect but the group I was with made it all worth it. Tips: Get there early in the day and sign waivers online prior to going. This will help if you have larger groups. The wait time did bother us because there were other things to do while we wait for other attractions. We explored the animal cabin (not sure of the correct name), but I was so cool seeing wild birds and a pet monkey. The ATV experience was fun but my sister didn't enjoy it as much, there were parts that were little difficult to navigate, especially for as a new rider. The horses were cool, but I'm done riding animals from this point on. One of the horses had a mind of its own and started to drift off in the open field. No thank you to horse back riding! But the guide was very informative and knew how to wrangle up the herd. Would I go back to Jayell Ranch....maybe...I will just prepare myself to wait..but I'm sure there will be one. read more

11 of us went here for my sister's bachelorette party! Horse back riding was awesome with Adam! Four wheeler riding was THE BEST with Michael. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the ATV's should have had goggles for our helmets (which would not do anything if you did fall off... literally says in the helmet ''not for motorized vehicles") the dirt was so bad you couldn't see... Okay place, HORRIBLE SERVICE. I've only written one review before but I couldn't afford writing one this time. Honestly don't even bother coming. My family and I waited over AN HOUR after our reservation time to go horseback riding! We arrived 11:30, signed waivers and STILL weren't told about the wristbands until 1:20 when they finally were gonna put us on the horses. We then had to go back to the office and wait ANOTHER half hour to get wristbands. To make things worse the girls at the office seemed annoyed that we didn't know about the wristbands when they NEVER said anything to us when we checked in. Overall it's a nice place but would never come back. read more

I went horseback riding with my kids while visiting the area. Check in was a mess because there was a huge group that came in right before us. Once we got checked in though, I was really impressed with their process. 1. We were weighed to ensure we were matched up with the right horse. 2. Each rider was able to mount the horse smoothly because they use a platform. 3. A young man walked everyone through very thorough instructions on how to use the reigns and manage the horse. He made sure everyone understood and was comfortable with the instructions. 4. Miss Loretta was our guide and she did a phenomenal job of giving instructions and managing the group, which was very large. The ride lasted about an hour which was really nice. My kids and I had a great time and I would definitely recommend for those who aren't super experienced riders. read more

We only did the horseback riding at Jayell Ranch and it did not disappoint. We could have used maybe a little better instruction as far as how to handle the horses but it's true that they are trail broken and will follow each other pretty much on auto pilot. My horse decided to trot whenever he felt like it but would stop when the reins were pulled. There are some nice views along the trail. Really wish the 30 minute ride was much longer. read more

My Dog is classified by VA as a prosthetic she is trained by a company in East Tennessee that is accredited by Service Dogs International . Do not do this!!!! We got here at 9:00 am and didn't even get on a horse until 2:08!! We were told it would be 45 min then they said they were down to two guides and some out of commission horses. This is the worst place I have ever been!!! Five hours in the hot sun and then they weigh you if you look "big". They don't weigh everyone just watch! Then you walk back down the ramp to go get a refund! They need to weigh at the start when you purchase your tickets. We ride every year twice a year and never had issues like this at Gold Rush Stables! I get it if you are overweight no one wants to hurt the animals but if you are like me and water weight is a factor because you are on the boarder then this is horrible!! God help them if anyone would have a metal disorder and this would set them over the edge! Go to Gold Rush you will be treated like the most important person every time and it is well worth it! read more

The ranch itself was fun! ATV and UTV rides were so much fun and the guides were amazing. The horseback riding was AWFUL!! I felt so unsafe and uneasy on my ride. Thank god it was just me and not my son with me. There was only 1 guide with us with about 5 or 6 kids ages 6 and up on their own horses. Not safe at all. Horses didn't like each other and were biting and kicking the whole time. Multiple times I thought people were going to fall off and get hurt. Do not recommend the horseback riding at all! read more

My 8 year old daughter, 73 year old mother in law and I rode horses at Jayell yesterday. We had so much fun! My horse was Amber and my daughters horse was Charity. The horses were so good and knew the trail so well, we really didn't have to use the reigns at all. I was impressed! I absolutely loved my experience and highly recommend this place! Also, I'm not sure why all these people had bad experiences with getting weighed. I'm close to the weight limit and knew before going to Jayell the limit was 300 and I might be weighed. I was prepared to get on a scale but to my surprise they didn't weigh me. Most places in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area with horseback riding have an even lower weight limit, Jayell's limit is the highest we found online before we left for our vacation. One person got bit by their horse, and during my own trip, half the horses were doing their own thing and not listening to the guides. The lines to sign up for the different activities are confusing and long. Plan to spend an hour in line before you get your ten minute ride on a mal nourished horse. Only reviewing ATV - oh my goodness "DOUBLE YES". Our guide was super dope and allow us to open up; we didn't have a kids on our group, so we were able to let the dirt fly HIGH. Highly suggest getting something to cover your face especially if its dusty out. I was literally covered from head to toe in dirt and it was AWESOME. Please note - the ATV does sit on a heel, so if you have knees problems then you might want to get someone or family member to help you up and down for safety purpose. I wouldn't suggest this wheel chair (manual or automatic) accessible due to heavy gravel but maybe you can talk with manager to see if something could be arranged. Don't shy away from there and also look for coupons as well - reserving is highly suggested or you might have a little more wait especially if there's a large group. read more

So much to do here! If you're not sure, take the UTV ride. All 3 of us rode for $150. It lasted about an hour from start to finish. Our guide was Larry and he was very friendly. He even got out in the rain to take a break and meet all of us. We felt bad for the people on 4 wheelers since we had a roof and they were out in the rain. We got a kitty muddy getting out of the UTV. Take your own helmet if you can. Lots of sweaty heads have been in them and the odor lingers on you well after you're gone. read more

You will wait all day for your horse ride. Checked the wait time for horseback riding when we arrived and it was estimated to be 40 min. Two plus hours later we are still waiting. I followed all the instructions online to reserve a larger horse because my weight was 230 lbs. Unfortunately, on the day of our visit, new medications had caused my weight to increase significantly and I was over the maximum weight allowed. The staff was very concerned about my privacy and were very polite when giving me the news. I'm very glad that you have weight limits and you enforce them. The entire staff is truly caring and respectful and that is hard to find these days. read more

Absolutely amazing experience. We were going to go to another place to do 4 wheeling, but the customer service turned us away. Then we found this GEM. Not only did we get to experience 4 wheeling, but we were able to include horseback riding and the monkey bird experience! We highly recommend this company for all ages. Before I put in my complaints, I do want to note that staff was very nice and we did end up having a great time, HOWEVER, be advised that wait times are excessively long. My boyfriend and I came here yesterday and ended up spending the entire day here which we did not expect. We thought it would take like 3-4 hours but we ended up staying for like 6+ hours. The two of us kept getting stuck behind a family of 30+ which, in my opinion, should have a reservation for a party that large so other patrons don't spend hours and hours waiting to do something. We literally waited the entire day to be called to ride horses. We checked in at the horses around 12:30 pm and didn't get on the horses until after closing close to 6pm, THATS INSANE!! To wait all day to do 3 activities is kinda crazy to me, plus it's July and hot as hell to be just out there waiting. They state that there's so much to do while your waiting but that's mainly for kids. They have a petting zoo, mini zip lines for kids, and swings. I would come here again if it weren't crowded but if I saw a full parking lot I'd rather go somewhere that has better processes in place. read more

Jayell is a family friendly place. Horse back rides, zip lining, and ATV trail rides. It's an all day event and the wait was kind of long for the ATV's. The kids enjoyed themselves and my first time riding the ATV was a great experience. I was publicly humiliated when I was the only person asked to step on the scale in front of 20+ people after we waited an hour for our turn then another 20 minutes in line for our horses to be brought up. They have signs stating 300LBS weight limit and you'll be weighed before paying. I did NOT get weighed in a more private setting before paying and my boyfriend didn't either. I thought that the signs were probably old and they just hadn't taken them down yet since I wasn't weighed. If you think you're close to 300LBS save yourself the embarrassment and don't bother. I weigh 314 according to their scale and my boyfriend weighs 301. They were going to let him ride, but still made him get on the scale in front of everyone waiting to be paired with a horse. P.S I don't need the hatful comments, I've been on a weight loss journey for two months now and have lost a decent amount of weight. read more

My wife left with a broken arm. They placed her on a mule that tripped over his own feet. When she complained they said that is what he does and that they didn't have another horse to give her. Yet they have a whole stable. Horrible guide, horrible place. The accident actually happened as she was getting off of the mule, sa it decide to walk away from the unloading platform as she was getting off. I guess our guide couldn't be bothered to make sure the mule was standing still. At one point with 20 minutes or so left the mule ran into the woods with my wife and she wanted off. I yelled to the instructor that she wanted off but was ignored. Takes for nothing guys. THe doctors say my wife will never have the same amount of motion i her arm again. This was for her birthday, so that got totally ruined. read more

My husband and I took a trip up to Tennessee for our 10 year anniversary and we decided to do some fun activities while there. We found this Ranch Less that 10 minutes away from our cabin and fell in LOVE! There are soooo many things to do, it could be a entire day full of fun and adventure! I was pretty sick at the start of our trip, so we only were able to do the horseback riding and zip lining! The horses were so absolutely beautiful and you could tell they were well taken care of and loved! The zip line experience was so fun! Zip lining THROUGH and up and down mountains was incredible (especially being from flat ole Florida. haha) We have decided to make a yearly trip up to Sevierville and we can't wait to go back to Jayell Ranch and spend an entire day there!
