Horrible experience. They let my party of 6 buy the unlimited tubing adventure pass (advertised at 19.99 a ticket) and sent us up a 3-5 minute direct incline hike, just for the tubing to be shut down. On the way up we asked a staff member if we were going the correct way and he assured us we were and that the staff managing the tubing had just gone on a coffee break but would meet us up there ASAP. We waited at the top of the slide for over 30 minutes, no staff member in sight. It wasn't until another customer hiked back down and up to tell us that the tubing slide was broken and we couldn't use it. No staff member in this whole situation informed us of any of this. We hiked back down to ask for a refund and they directed us to contact them online and that it may take 7 days to receive one - so who knows if we will actually get a refund. Also on the way out someone broke their leg due to negligence of staff, and had an ambulance come. We wasted over an hour of our limited time in Tennessee at this place. Overall it was a terrible experience and ultimately a scam - I would never recommend this place. read more

The only reason this is getting the 2-star rating is due to the UTV ride. Other than that, I recommend interested parties steer clear and find somewhere else to spend their money. We went here during our trip to the Smokies. The website tauted, ATV/ UTV tours, horseback riding, ziplines, and a few other attractions. The ratings seemed decent so off we went. When you first arrive, you will be greeted by a line of iPads to sign a waiver (if not signed online). You then proceed to another station to verify the same waiver you just entered. You then fill out more paperwork, pay, and fill out yet more paperwork. It wasn't until after payment that we were told that there was over an hour's wait for the horseback riding. However, we were told to go sign in at the barn to hold our place and proceed over to the ATV/ UTV to do that during the hour wait for the horses. We checked in at the barn for the ride and proceeded to the ATV/ UTV tour. At the ATV/ UTV station we were directed to helmets on a wall and told that we would leave in 5 minutes... over 30 minutes later we finally rolled out. The tour was fun, but was basically rolling over the same terrain and trails several times. After the hour-plus tour, we headed back to the barn to pick up our place in line and ride only to be told that we would have another 30-45 minute wait!! Other customers had been waiting over an hour as well and were being told another hour of waiting. After being told 30-45 minutes more of waiting, my husband went to get food and drinks from the concession stand. He waited there for well over 30 minutes after paying for hotdogs and warm bottled waters. As I was now holding our place in line AND we were moving up, he told them he would be back for the hot dogs (still not ready after that long wait and paying over $40). We finally got mounted up and down trail. The website states 4 miles of riding (roughly 1 hour) through scenic areas and shaded trails. NOT EVEN CLOSE. I tracked the ride via my AllTrails app (I use this religiously when I ride my own horse) and this was a 1.5 mile ride through dusty, mostly not shaded areas with views of the driveway and a trip around a small field. They are a rocky dusty trials around small "meadow" where you walk between two fences. Yes, you will get to see mountains... from a "meadow" where the ATV/UTV trail and ziplines run. You do not dismount. You do not get pictures of your group on horseback. You do not stop... unless you're horse decides it wants to eat or no longer go. Nothing. ZIP. Another note - If you plan on a young child, 5-12 years old, riding, PLEASE note that these horses will pull them off the trail and can spook/ take off. This happened several times during our ride and with a 5 year old child on the one horse (several times). My child was older (nearly 12) and has ridden several times, but even he was unable to keep his mount's head out of the grass due to it pulling through the bit. Overall, this was by far the worst trail riding experience I have had... and I've been trail riding on rentals for most of my life. We DO NOT recommend this ranch. In the end, expect long wait times, exhausted horses, and short staff. If you're ok with that, knock yourself out. read more

We had a great time here! Spent all day actually. We saw an ad in the coupon book for them and decided to do the zip line and atv's and it was so worth it. (They offer horseback, atv's closed and open, ziplinning, and animal tour) We had two awesome zip line tour guides Owen and Jacob that were fun and made our experience one to remember. Also we had a tour guide for our atv's who was the best photographer and didn't rush us and kept up with our speed. While we waited for the next zip linning session we talked to some of the other guests and pet the farm animals. The only suggestion I would make is that they have zip line times. Once we finished our atv ride we were going to go zip lining but the group before us was a group of 27 people!! We went home bc we asked how long it would take and they had no idea so we left to go back to our cabin(only 7 min away) and ate lunch. There's no food there so bring snacks or lunch if you are there all day. We waited about 45 min and came back and had to wait another hour and half which wasn't fun in the cold. So I would suggest doing time slots so that way you don't waste people's time and they have an idea so they can plan their day. Thank god we didn't have anything else planned all day. Other than that the actual activities were worth it and we will definitely be back. Hopefully they just work on the zip line times! read more

Our kids went ziplining here. They said if you just did the 3 line package it wasn't worth it. They did the 6 line package and it was fun. The ranch has a nice layout. They liked the Giant Jenga set and and live band. The people were customer focused. Biggest cons were: they cleaned out the portapotties and it was horrible. They should take care of that after hours! One of the ziplining guides was vaping while on the tour. That is not professional and is not good with kids around. read more

What a joke this place is. Total tourist trip, lie and rip you off bs. After I spoke them on the phone, I went against my better judgement and chose them even though they are in a touristy spot. I live in the area and can usually spot these con people. The lady on the phone sold me on the six zip line package and how it went so high that you could see all of the way to North Carolina. When we got there, we were told it had long been closed for renovations but the 3 line zip was open and was a 90 minute adventure. It was 30 minutes at best. The horseback riding was so lame. Not scenic at all. This place is a tourist trap. Stay away. Find places further out. It will be worth your time in driving. read more

We researched a lot of places and ended up settling on this place for UTV rides and horseback riding. It's a cute farm with lots of animals and interactive things. We purchased the UTV ride and really enjoyed it. Our guide was professional and friendly. He took our safety seriously and still let us have fun. The ride takes you through fields and woods. It had rained a lot the day before so there was plenty of mud to have fun in. You will get dirty so dress appropriately! The Honda UTV we drove was impressive in handling and versatility. The guide stopped us a few times and took our picture and chatted with us about the property and other things. The horseback riding was enjoyable. It wasn't a very long ride but it was a safe and predictable ride through the woods and fields. All of the staff were very friendly and professional. Highly recommend!! read more

I truly wish I could give this ranch negative stars. It was absolutely disturbing to see the way that the horses, goats, and chickens were treated at this so-called establishment. Horses should NOT be standing in their own feces in 95-degree heat while chained to the stable wall...are you kidding me?! We have a veterinary technician in the family, but it doesn't take a professional of any kind to have common sense and notice that the animals here are clearly malnourished. Not to mention the lacerations and other open wounds that were visibly noticeable on the horses. When we approached a manager, she retorted that there were flies all around the stable because "it's outside." A lot of things are outside, but you don't see everything covered in flies. Maybe try to clean up the feces covering your stable and tend to your horse's wounds and see how many flies are left then. I am overall disgusted to see that this is how horses are treated here in Tennessee, as I am a very big fan of horses myself and have years of experience riding them. The time for this business to re-evaluate their priorities seems well overdue. I really hope that this place starts to value the lives of their animals more than the money they're aiming to make. Speaking of cash-grabs...why the hell is there a monkey on display in Tennessee? There is absolutely no way that this is the correct and healthy climate for a monkey. Absolutely ridiculous Tiger King vibes from this place. Not to mention, the entire cast of Ratatouille seemed to be present in the chicken coop/goat pen. This is completely unacceptable and may or may not have something to do with the fact that they leave the gate open for anyone to just walk in and touch and feed the animals. If your own staff doesn't seem to actually care much about the animals, how can you expect tourists to? If you have any compassion at all for animal welfare, I strongly advise you do not spend your money here and try to find somewhere else to ride horses in the area. read more

My friends and I were visiting the area in March and went to Jayell to zipline initially. When we got there we also decided to do an ATV trail ride. Adam and Abe took us ziplining. They were awesome. Very funny and super accommodating as we had a first timer with us. Josh was our ATV guide and we had a great time!! He led us through the trails, let us play in the mud, and was very conscientious of the whole group, new and experienced riders. We had so much fun we left for lunch and came back for another round of ziplines and four wheeling that afternoon. I left town the next morning, but on my way out I stopped by for the best ATV ride yet - it has rained and there was mud everywhere. this place firstly needs to start taking reservations, when we arrived we were told it would be a 2 hour wait for ziplining & 4 hour wait for horseback riding. We waited for the train for the monkey & parrots for an hour even though we weren't made aware of a wait. The monkey & birds were cute, but the health of the animals is questionable. They are kept in a hot building with no AC or fan. The handler let the monkey run wild in the bird enclosure, & didn't bother to step in when it was ripping out a girls nose ring & biting her face. We also saw a parakeet that looked like it was dying by laying limp in a corner. The staff in general are not helpful & don't do their job, one of them was sitting in his truck until we approached him for assistance. This place definitely needs to be investigated when it comes to the treatment of the animals. read more

Andrew was very patient filling out our paperwork with us because it started to rain and our friends were worried about their teenager driving by herself in those conditions. We were originally set for 3 ATV's and one UTV, we settled on two UTV's instead. Once everything was discussed (at least 15 min) and a group was about to leave he allowed us to be bumped up with them w/o waiting. We did the trail ride here. It was a good experience overall, but they advertised 4-mile and 1-hour on their website. It was about 1/2 of this. We waited in line about an hour to pay and get in, another 20 minutes to Mount the horses and depart. We were out on the horses about 35 minutes and there's no way it was 4 miles. This was a little disappointing but overall it was good. It was about $20 cheaper than other rides in the area so I guess we can't complain too much about the lesser time BUT they should be more accurate with their description on the website. read more

I took my three kids on the zip line for $50. We enjoyed it and the guides were fine, without any problems or difficulties.

We wanted to find a place with both zip lining and horseback riding. We tried Jayell Ranch because there was a good coupon in one of the books and these experiences get pricey with five people. We got there at 12:22 and waited in line until 1:45 just to pay and get wristbands. Then, we waited 40 mins for our kids to get into zip line gear, and another 20 for them to get started for the hour tour. After zip lining, we went over to the horses and waited another 30 mins to get called, then another 30 to start the ride. My kids were tired and bored. In the end, the zip lining was fun, the horseback riding was awesome, but it really ate up too much of our day with just waiting. I wish they took reservations so there wasn't so much standing around. The staff here are wonderful, they were great with my kids and knew their stuff. This place advertises that you don't need a reservation, which is true, but prepare to wait hours after paying for your ticket to actually go horseback riding. They don't let you know before paying that there's a wait. The parking lot is really small as well, so prepare to have to hunt for a parking space. Also, if you have any horseback riding experience whatsoever you will not enjoy Jayell Ranch. The guide was not friendly whatsoever. I was scolded three times for slowing my horse to wait for my 6 year old daughter behind me. Apparently you're not even actually allowed to do anything other than sit on the horses (as far as steering or asking for a different speed), which they don't tell you ahead of time either. I'm not even really sure why they put reigns on the bridles. The terrain is muddy and severely rutted up. Not much to look at here other than dirt. Overall this place is really lame unless you have no horse riding experience at all. Book ahead at another facility if you're able. read more

Had a great time at the ranch today. We did the horseback ride and the zip line. We even got to carry a piglet as a bonus! Our guides were fun (Cristoff, Kary, and Perkins for the Zipline and Matt for the horseback ride). Horseride: Beautiful mountain views towards the middle of the ride. It had been raining the night before so the trail was muddy and the ride was slow. Wish I could've gone a bit faster. I would suggest to go when the weather is better to enjoy the ride better (duh!, but it was our last day) Zipline: The best part of the day! It was my first time and I loved it!! By far the worst run place I've ever been. Waited for 5 hours to ride the atv. was told 2 hour wait by worker. Not enough staff. Place was a cluster. Wish there was a suggestion box. I have numerous things they could do to improve their business. The checkin line was a zoo. Also the parking was the worst I've seen. The entrance and exit uses the same drive on a steep hill and only one lane. People were having to reverse and turn around. Massive cluster. I'd rather spend my $400 watching a turtle race a sloth. Maybe the company should pay there people more so they are not begging for tips. The people on the zip line did not seem like they knew what they were doing. Treatment of their horses was terrible. They were forced to walk through mud over a foot deep during virtually all of our ride. Some of them tried to veer off the trail to more secure footing but were forced back by the guide. These animals are being used as money machines with no regard for their safety. Any responsible company would have cancelled this activity due to poor trail conditions. read more

We came up to Gatlinburg for a family vacation. When looking up things to do we came across this ranch. We did the Ziplining and atv ride. 6 of us total (my family of 4 plus my mom and her boyfriend). My son has never Zip lined was nervous when we got to the first line. Kari and Crisoff where great. They made my son feel comfortable. They where awesome to talk too, fully and trustworthy. My kids have spent the last 2 days saying "roots, rocks and Slippery spots" but I love it. With the atv ride. The first one got cut short do to my moms boyfriend goofing off and getting hurt. The staff was quick to respond and get him help (he only dislocated his finger). The staff was supper supportive through it all. They gave my family of 4 a free ride since we had to leave early in the ride. My kids had a blast. My daughter was nervous to ride alone but they made sure she knew what she was doing before we left. We had Red and (I hate to say) but I can't remember his name. Awesome guys. Took us on a extra tour too. Will definitely be coming back to Jayell Ranch next time we are this way. read more

The ride on the four wheelers was fun even though one boy kept having problems with his dying and had to be switched out. It started to rain at the end which we loved because slinging mud made it even better. However, the organization of how the place is ran is ridiculous. When you get there it has a sign that says step 1 but none of the areas were labeled. They should have it CLEARLY labeled or better yet an employee directing people. It was also crazy that we stood in lines for almost two hours. All this could be fixed if someone would take the time figure out a better system. Then when I finally get to pay after two hours of standing in the lines we are informed it is a 1 1/2 hour wait to get to ride. Whaaatttt? Well you can't back out now after being there that long. So we walked up to get on the waiting list and he said it would be about an hour or more wait but as we sat there discussing what we were going to do while we waited, he yelled out and said don't leave and got us on the group about to go out. We got lucky!!!! Needless to say if someone would take the time to organize the checking in and paying process or do online reservations, this place would get 5 stars. The lady who took my money and said another 1 1/2 hour wait is actually good, it's usually longer so be ware and set aside three hours to be there for a 30 minute ride. It was most definitely not 12 miles either. We maybe did 2-3 miles and that is a stretch. The reason it took 30 minutes was because of all the problems the riders kept having. read more

Nice people but they severely need help organizing and running a business. First signing waivers doesn't help much as they still want you to in line. There should different lines for each activity horse back riding, zip lines, Atv. We arrived 30 minutes before there advertised 9:00am open time and still waited an hour and half to hour fourth-five minutes to ride ATVs. They have 40 ATV and 8 or so UTVs, multiple ATVs were broke and there was a longer wait for those than our 1:45 wait. Best advice I read was to get waivers and tickets day before and then return the following day to start your activity, trails and people were great but they could really make some improvements, on working more efficiently get people in and out more efficiently and quicker. read more

If you have kids, you NEED to go here. The staff were so friendly, and they have plenty of ways to keep kids engaged. Case in point: while the parents were handling waivers and tickets, they had a guinea pig right there to look at and pet. They have a mini zip cable for kids to slide around on, several rope swings, Adirondack chairs for the adults, chickens running around, and more. Sam was great at giving instructions to the kids. We went first thing in the morning while it was cool and peaceful. One recommendation: if you can go on a dryer day (not after a rain) you will feel a bit more confident. The horses had a few moments were their hooves slipped on a steep incline in the mud. They handled it like pros! For a non-rider I felt a bit nervous but Sam coached us through everything we needed to know and do. Even our five-year-old had no problem riding on her own. read more

Such an amazing, fun experience! My husband and I went with our one year old, five year daughters and ten year old son. We all had a blast. The prices are reasonable. The staff was amazing. They went above & beyond to ensure we had a fun experience. My husband rode the Atv with our 10 year old. They provided a baby carrier and I rode horses with my baby! It was fantastic! Our five year old rode her own horse as well. Our son and I did the zip-lining. The gentleman who ran the guided horse tour was wonderful. He explained the process in full detail, he was very attentive to our five year old. Go for it if you're in the area. We created such beautiful life long memories at the ranch. We plan to be back at least one a year. read more

This past weekend my wife and I went here as part of Anniversary trip she has been trying to get me to go horseback riding so she finally got her wish it was my first time on a horse I rode "Diesel" and at first I was like what the he** am I doing on this beast it was muddy and slippery all along the trail but I tell you what those horse knew exactly what to do, Diesel wanting to show his dominance wanted to be at the front of the line all in all I'd say that it was a great experience our guide Mitchell was nothing short of AWESOME... If you have younger children ages 6,7 and maybe even 8, please do not let them ride their own horse here. I asked if they would lead my sons horse who is just 2 days shy of 7. They said that they don't really need to do that, the horses stay on the trail and basically not to worry. We went on the ride and within the first 10-15 minutes of being out on the trail, we had to keep stopping for a horse to catch up and the lead horses were impatient. After we stopped the third time at the bottom of an incline, my sons horse got spooked (there were ATV riders up ahead) and the horses didn't want to stop. My sons horse went into a trot and went off the trail, he couldn't hold on or really control the horse for his age and ability level and he fell off the horse. He received a concussion (helmets were not put on the kids) and a broken wrist in 2 places. They were not very compassionate at all. Nor did anyone come out once we got back to the front to see if he was ok. In fact they originally wanted him to get on the lead horse with the guide and continue the ride but I knew his wrist was broken by just looking at it. Please be smarter than me and don't trust these people with your young kids. My 10 year old did fine and I was assured that both of them got the calmest, easiest horses but obviously there was an issue with the order of the riders/ horses and the frequent stops, along with the ATVs that contributed to the accident. For what it's worth, I have been horseback riding many many times and my horse also got spooked and I almost fell off but I knew what to do. We did another company years ago and when my other son was 7 and they insisted on using a lead with his horse. I will never return to this place and will trust my gut instinct in the future. read more
