All of the dishes that we have gotten from JesseJay's have been delicious, and the staff is friendly and respectful. We have only eaten outside or had food ordered to go, so I don't know how the inside of the building is, but they have umbrellas for shade and fans outside to keep it a little cooler. We are the luckiest people as we live about 8 minutes away from this gem!! Since the virus they have really stepped up their take out game. Easy to order, text message to you when it's ready. I had the Mofongo with butter and steak! This is my third time ordering it. I decided to go with the steak today and it was an absolute winner!!! My husband had the Jesse bowl with carnitas. His meal was also very very good. The flavors from their dishes are like no other!! We look forward to eating at their place when the warm weather is back as they have a great outdoor eating area. They had our order wrong - despite intentionally ordering with plenty of time before making our way over there, because it is usually packed. Super disappointed in my experience. I had friends rave about how great this place was only to be let down. For starters our server was extremely dismissive and nonchalant. We were in a slight rush (40-50 mins) but had time therefore we ordered everything as soon as we sat down. 20-30 mins passed and therefore I asked if it would be out soon only to be told "umm , idk, we are backed up with Togo's" as she walked away with out a word else. After yet another 10 mins I saw another table (that sat after us and put in their order after us) receive their entrees (we had only received our appetizer at this point). As I grew frustrated, I again asked about our food only to be told we were still 7 orders behinds. I explained my partner had a flight to catch and she continued to not apologize or see what she could do but offered to give us the check for what he had. I was appalled, paid for it, and left without even a tip (which is unlike me given I too was a waitress in college). Very very disappointing especially given it wasn't very busy. This review is not so much for the restaurant, but for the food truck. I will say that the food has been excellent. But the truck needs to work on its speed. I probably should have left after waiting in line for 45 minutes and go for pizza. But I was next in line. So then 15 minutes later I finally got to order. But it's just tacos. How long could it take, there are only 3 tickets hanging ahead of me? The answer is another 30 minutes. So 1 hour, 30 minutes for Street Tacos. Watching after I ordered, it seems like the people inside the trailer need to spend a lot of time walking between stations and the woman that was taking orders does a lot of looking around and wondering what is next. It pains me to have to write this on a local establishment that by all accounts deserves a 5-star rating, but they are hampered by the layout or usage of the trailer. Anyway, we'll only eat at the restaurant from here on out. The roadshow leaves a lot to be desired. read more

We just ate here for the first time yesterday (where have we been!) Walked in and it was packed, definitely want to call ahead and make a reservation! We ordered at the back bar and I have to honestly say that this was easily the best Latin/American food I have ever had! We started out with chicken nachos which were better than any that I've ever had....layered with toppings! I ordered the Jesse's short rib with the Mexi-corn and the cheese grits....absolutely crave-worthy!! My wife ordered the Churrasco with a side of the home made Guacamole....I just have no words to describe how good the food is here. The food was absolutely divine and the drinks yummy and the place is adorable and our server was great! My only problem was that I'd made reservations 1 1/2 weeks ahead for a group of 6 and when we got there, we had to wait for another group of 5 to leave. When I asked, I was told that they only allowed 1 hour between reservations for a large table. Which is ridiculous at dinner on a Saturday night with a 4-6 person table. 2 people can do a weekend date in an hour but not a family group. They couldn't be nicer and I'm so glad we waited. I hope they figure out the seatings; it's a very small place and deservedly popular. read more

So this place was introduced to me not long ago. I had the pleasure of eating for a second time here and I must say they don't disappoint. Great portions and fast carry out. The steak street tacos are bomb and I enjoyed mine with their red beans and rice. The beans and rice are Puerto-Rican style and I loved that bc it took me back to my childhood when my Titi made a bunch of food for the holidays. This last visit about two weeks ago was a disappointment. Prior visits were all solidly 3-4 star. This is normally very good to excellent Latin inspired cooking, and the service is normally the same. We had gone on a day when the chef/owner was not in residence and there were just too many mistakes not to take note. Service was polite and well mannered, but obviously they are having a hard time keeping staff and there were lots of new wait staff that were not coordinating well with the kitchen or neglecting customers for too long. There are signs in the restaurant and on the tables that they are hiring new staff which also doesn't inspire confidence. There were multiple mistakes (incorrect item) in the order and the food that was served also seemed to be overcooked, too dry, or almost burnt at times and it was still sent out to a customer table. As others have noted, the tables on the inside are sticky to the touch which gives this customer an uncomfortable feeling. They also seemed to prioritize their takeout business over people who had made reservations and were dining in. I will wait to see if there is more consistency in reviews before returning. read more

They have the best guacamole I've ever had, their tacos are unreal, and I come back every time for the plantain beignets. We just picked up our curbside order and let me tell you it was worth the 40 minute drive! The veggie torta was a delicious vegetarian option that my daughter said tastes like a steak sub. The Cubano was a generous sandwich that was full of flavor. Love the Mexican corn and the black beans and rice. My husband loves margaritas so we got the sweet and sour mix to go. I am not usually a fan but it is one of the tastiest margaritas I have ever had. We will definitely return again and again. The only reason I am giving a 2 is based on previous outstanding interactions. However, the last two times I have visited have been horrible.. once tried to call in an order and was told the system was down and that I had to go on line, I asked if they could just write it down, was told no. However when I show up, I see the receptionist writing down an order from a customer on the phone. Is today I call, "Amanda" tells me on I'll be right with you. After waiting 10 min I decide to drive in. Where I walk up, see the phone sitting there with me still on hold. I told them they could hang up now. Not even a slight apology. Has Jessie jays forgot what got them to where they are? Have they got so big in a one restaurant town they don't care about customer service? Lastly, I order a Jessie bowl and was told it won't take long, yet here I am 30 min later still waiting. Follow up to the review, just checked on the order and they could t find my ticket, had to reprint it. Then she stuck it in the end of the line and said "about another at least 20 min". After 5 she came to me to cancel my order and refund the money. Won't be back!!!!!! To bad I really did like it before they got to big. Yesterday my wife, son & daughter-in-law had outside dining at JesseJays and it was super good. This was the first time dining out since the pandemic. The servers wore masks and the outside layout allowed for social distancing. There was hand sanitizer and people were playing corn holes. So I felt safe and the service and food was excellent as always. We had a bucket of beers, margaritas, quac & chips, mofongo, shrimp quesadilla, and various different tacos.
