Disappointing to leave this review, because the food is actually good. But in spite of that, I would not return for a few reasons: 1) The place was practically empty, yet none of the tables had been wiped down. Also, the napkins, utensils and condiments were empty. Trash and trays looked like they hadn't been picked up in a while. 2) Again, hardly any customers, but I had to wait to be greeted or acknowledged by anyone. Not a "hello" or "someone will be with you shortly." Just the staff continuing their conversation, oblivious to a customer in the room. 3) Lack of attention to detail. My order was fine, but the party of 4 before me only had one order correct. It's chicken and fries. It shouldn't be that hard. 4) At one point, the entire staff went in the back and left the place practically unattended for several minutes. Again, this dining room is filthy, shouldn't someone do something about that? Like I said, the food was actually good, thus 2 stars instead of 1. I guess maybe drive thru is the way to go. But I won't be back.
As a chicken sandwich enjoyer, Jay Bird's definitely hit the spot better than some more well known brands. For some sandwiches, it could be too salty, oily, etc. Not with Jay Bird's, I find the balance of seasoning on the chicken filet perfect, salty but still balanced with veggies in certain menu items. I appreciate the fries being more crispy on the outside and still slightly fluffy inside. Great casual vibes inside or you can sit outside for the amazing Sedona weather. Awesome time for most if you come while exploring Sedona.
(3.5) Ok spot for a quick lunch. We stopped by after hitting some trails in Sedona. The gentleman at the front was very friendly and helpful since it was our first time! We ordered the chicken sandwich & fries and chicken & waffles. My husband enjoyed his sandwich but it wasn't mind blowing. Fries were crispy and seasoned well! For my meal, I actually enjoyed the waffles much more than the chicken. The waffle was very soft and airy so the texture was perfect. The chicken, however, wasn't terrible... but the batter was a little too thick so it was kind of hard to cut and rip apart. I ended up taking off the skin and just eating the chicken meat. Overall, it's an ok spot if you're looking for something easy. It's very spacious inside with plenty of seating. They also have an outdoor patio, which is where we sat because we had our dog with us and they let him be there too. :)
Stopped here during my visit in Sedona back in September. Never had a Chicken Sandwich with Mac & Cheese before, but it was very tasty. The Chicken had a good crunch, and the Mac & Cheese added good flavor. Will try it again if in the area!
overall score: B- order: chicken sandwich and fries the sandwich here was not bad but it also wasn't good. it was lacking flavor but portion sizes were good. i wish the chicken was a little more battered/fried but it was pretty plain. the fries were really good though. this place does charge for sauce, i feel as if i had sauce in the sandwich it would have tasted better. or if a free sauce came with the combo that would have been nice. service: food came out fast, nothing wrong about the service. ambiance: place is pretty big for just a fast food place. very spacious inside and parking was not an issue.
Great place for fast, fresh chicken. I like the idea of the different spice levels because I love spicy food!! I would consider it fast food since they have a drive through option. As well as inside seating and they have a nice front patio to enjoy your meal outside in the beautiful Sedona weather.

Lastly, I got the chicken sandwich with mac n cheese on it, and the whole sandwich was mediocre at best. Don't get me wrong, it's a great-looking sandwich, but once again, I was definitely disappointed in the flavor. Seeing as this place has such great reviews and is known for their chicken sandwich, I was expecting something a lot better than what I got. Maybe it was an off day, I don't know. Not very friendly service either.
This was the perfect easy meal after to keep us going. The chicken was very hot and fresh. The fries were a bit over seasoned but can't complain. Love the variety in sauces especially the comeback sauce. The location was very clean and the staff was helpful & friendly.
After several days of traveling and dealing with the heat we wanted something quick easy but don't usually like Mexican food outside of California. (Trust me.) Found this place and decided to give it a try. Best chicken sandwich we have had! Yes, it's better than CFA, RC, DHC and all the other chains out there! Chicken was crispy fried without drying out. Coleslaw was perfect crunch and flavor. Chicken strips were large and meaty. Fries did NOT get soggy driving back to our AirBnB. Mac Daddy was good. Comeback sauce was good and a mix of some of the more popular chains... less peppery and sweeter than one, and less sweet than another. You can choose your heat index. Drive through was a nice option although they did have a typical fast food sit down area. Staff was friendly and efficient. We would definitely recommended and go back. read more

Fast food that tastes closer to home made. Thick real chicken breast. Counter service like fast food, but more friendly and local feel. Huge place that kind of gives off a vibe it was going to work and didn't. They have beer taps but only sell canned beer. (And now much of it by the looks of it). Easy walk from Whole Foods but plenty of parking. Cajun style food; cayenne pepper and paprika for those that don't know (fries had a nice spice). I ordered medium and it was on par with a big chain spicy chicken sandwich. I got the sandwich with Mac n cheese on it. Tasty bit next time I'd get a sandwich hot, skip the fries and get Mac in the side. I was full from half the food- making it an $8 meal ($16 / 2). Not a 5 star lunch spot. It's a 5 star chicken sandwich spot. read more

So driving around Sedona and noticed this spot so decided to drop in and see what it was about. Restaurant looked clean and their outdoor seating area was cool because there was a good view. The service was okay typical service you get from most other restaurants. As for the food... The chicken sandwich wasn't anything special and didn't really scream Nashville Chicken Hot! I got the HOT level of spice and it wasn't that spicy. Felt like there was something missing between all the ingredients in the sandwich. BUT. The fries! If you want some fries their fries were very good and nicely seasoned all around. The seasoning was on point and each fry had a good crisp to them. I'd go back just to get some fries, lol. I'll pass on the sandwich though. read more

So this place is amazing. I went here two days in a row. First day I got the Mac daddy. It was super tasty. The Mac n cheese took it to the next level. The regular sandwich was alright too but the mac daddy is a little better. I'd highly recommend that. Now I got my sandwiches hot and it was manageable. My friend got the extra hot and omg that was wayyyyy too much. I would not advise going past the hot level. It will truly burn your mouth and you won't be able to enjoy the flavors of the food. But if you want to choose violence then by all means go for it. The service was great. The workers were very friendly. It was clean as well inside. The orders came out fast. I highly recommend this place. Oh yeah the French fries were amazing as well. Get the spicy fries. It's not hot but the seasoning makes it taste better. Get here fast and enjoy yourself. read more
Didn't really care for this place too much, we got the loaded fries with mac and cheese. The fries were straight cut not crinkled. Just a lot of sauce going on, too much tbh. Mac wasn't anything special. Probably should have got tenders or a sandwich. read more

Food was ok. One sauce was 1000 dressing without pickles, and very sweet. White bread was not fresh. It had been sitting out for awhile. 1 & done. Nothing close to Hattie B's. read more

Did it as an Uber eats and placed the order at 759 and they close at 8 (accident on my part) and they still filled the order. That is a 5/5 automatic after driving all day. Also it was delivered hot and fresh. It was ridiculously good and as a food snob from Vegas that's impressive. It was the best thing I've eaten at Sedona my last couple trips. We got the sandwiches and strips. The Mac and cheese was good too. read more

Good yummy Nashville chicken! We got the chicken sandwich with fries and it was delicious and big enough to split if you aren't too hungry. You can adjust heat based on what you like. We got mild but we could've done with medium because the mild had less spice that we would've liked. Very tasty fries! They were quick and got our food out fast. I love the seating area inside. There are cute little bar stool seats that are very comfortable. You order at the counter and then can sit down to eat or take it in box like we did. Definitely recommend! read more

I think this may be the only hot chicken joint in Sedona. Maybe? Either way, it sounded good one day so we dropped in for a bite. Wow, I was wonderfully surprised - Yum, yum, yum! Ends up I LOVE coleslaw in my chicken sandwich - lol. The mild version was perfect for me as well. I don't love hot, but mildly warm is good. The bread is strong enough to hold up throughout the whole sandwich too. Another thing I really liked were the fries and dip. I got plenty - didn't even finish them, sooo good. The woman at the counter was super friendly and energetic. She lead us through the menu and helped us make a good decision. I really appreciated that. It helped to have her opinion. The place was clean and roomy. I'd go back in a heartbeat. read more

Solid place for chicken sandwiches. The portions are pretty large but a bit pricey (14+tax for sandwich and fries) The chicken are pretty large, thick cut. I personally prefer thinner cuts than they had ( I prefer crunchier chicken). But overall the sandwiches are solid and recommended for a quick bite. read more

Fast casual fried chicken shop... now you're speaking my langauge. Speaking of which, if you're gonna call yourself a fried chicken shop you better produce some mighty fine fried chicken... SO with that as the leas, the verdict... They make some mighty fine fried chicken- hot fried, greasy bird on white bread, just like we do it in the South. Let's go straight to the point ... food was okay. Nothing great at all . I've had a a few hot chicken places before and they hit the spot. Jay bird chicken was not worth the price or the hype. Service was mediocre. No one really helped us with our order as far as serving to us but they wanted a tip which bothered me. I ordered the hot chicken sandwich with fries. It was priced at $14.77. Honestly it was over price for what I got. I wasn't a fan of the fries they felt bland even though there was lots of spices on french fries I was told not to get the extra hot by the staff but I thought I could handle it so the hot was Underwhelming . Ambience was like a fast food restaurant you go up to the counter to pick up your food. Don't expect any ketchup ? you have to pay $.65. To get their special smoked ketchup. read more
