What's funny is that the ordering system here doesn't even show pictures for the signature blue drinks and food items. People say the blue specialty drink tastes like cough syrup mixed with peppermint oil. Just grab one for the photo -- don't set your expectations too high. Still, no regrets. When visiting new places, I'm eager to experience new dining destinations; McDonald's would not be on my list. However... I wanted to see this location, the only one in the WORLD with TURQUOISE (vs. the traditional golden) arches (due to city ordinances ensuring that structures don't intrude with the natural scenery). Initially, my plan was simply to take a photo of the exterior; however, after doughnuts, some McDonald's fries sounded real good. The facility was very clean. I so wish I'd noted the name of the person who assisted us (my thoughts are he is a manager), who greeted and treated everyone in line cheerfully, positively, and respectfully -- even referring to me by name! And... our order (ahh, fresh-off-the-frier fries and cold iced teas) was delivered to our outdoor table, where we were later checked on. Why is this the only McDonald's with the Teal colored arches and not golden, The reason for this deviation is Sedona's strict architectural guidelines which aim to preserve the natural beauty of the area. City officials required the restaurant to change its arches from yellow to avoid clashing with the scenic red rocks. I am LOVING it, the teal arches. I was extremely disappointed with my visit to this restaurant. After finishing my meal inside, I noticed several very large cockroaches near the outside seating area. It was absolutely disgusting and completely ruined the experience. I won't be coming back, definitely a major hygiene concern. Also service was very slow. I FINALLY made it back after 2 years!! You already know why I came, lol, but if you don't, duhhh... it's because this McDonald's in Sedona is the only one in the world with TEAL arches!! Anything teal/turquoise/blue is my jam!! It so happens that I was gifted a custom pair of Vans for Christmas. It goes perfectly with one of my Lulu half zip pullovers. Soooo, I have been on a mission to come here just to get pics with these famous arches! People from all over come here just to snap pics. I did also order a Happy Meal for the heck if it. They forgot my apple slices, but they always taste like poison to me anyway. The Minion toy was cute! You can order at the counter or from a kiosk. Your order comes out in minutes. We stopped eating at restaurants at some point during our trip because it was costing so much and we decided to save the money for experiences and just get food from grocery stores and fast food. This is the only McDonalds on the planet with blue arches so the decor would complement the landscape better and because of this the kids immediately noticed it and wanted to eat here. There is a small placard inside with a QR code where you can buy souvenirs specific to this McDonalds but we didn't see anything being sold inside. It's very small inside and ordering is done on two kiosks. Even at 4 pm it was overly crowded inside and it took very long to get our to go order. We should have checked the Happy Meals more carefully before leaving but we asked for plain cheeseburgers and got onions and pickles, there were no apples, and only 1 of the boxes had a toy in it. read more

Super fun McDonald's to go to because of the turquoise sign. It feels like it's a must of Sedona. That being said, with that many visitors this place needs a good scrub top to bottom. On my last morning during this quick getaway, I made a point to visit Sedona's McDonald's for the mere fact that it was the only one in the world without its iconic traditional golden arches; rather, the famed "arcs" (if you knew you knew!) were in a more soothing turquoise blue hue because the city had strict guidelines that required new buildings to blend with the surrounding natural landscape, specifically the red rocks. I honestly thought it had something to do with the native land bearers and their penchant for the color and jewelry. This place is usually fantastic but this morning the food is mediocre at best and Bebe(?) a female employee was unprofessional and not wearing a name tag. This seems to be a reoccurring theme with the people that don't know how to handle a job that's customer facing. Teal arches amazing but the service was terrible. I ordered breakfast in my app and my hubby went to pick it up he was told I didn't pay and that I had to have my phone there in person to pick it up so he came back and got me and brought me back there. Meanwhile the manager canceled my order. I got an email that said I would get a refund so I did pay! I tried to explain to the manager that I just needed my order and I showed her on my phone that I paid: She continued to insist that I didn't pay and loudly proclaimed to the whole store that it must have been my bad credit card. Then she told me that she cancelled the order herself because I didn't pay which I did: She finally rang it up again but then didn't want to give me the deal I had on the app. I cannot express enough how rude the manager was being. She was so rude I even told the other lady working at the counter "I'm sorry you have to work for her." No apology, terrible service. You want customers to use the kiosk or app and then when there's an issue you want to blame the customer. No chill Sedona vibes here. This is a non-standard McDonald's and that is very cool. It's got teal arches to match the southwestern look of Sedona. Inside it is just a normal McDonalds. It has a clean, modern look. Honestly it's really busy inside with people coming for the non-standard look. The staff did a great job keeping up. However there needs to be more seating inside. The indoor dining room is half the size it felt like it should have been. Also you MUST order on kiosks and all the parents with small children really slow the ordering line down. Cashiers taking orders is just faster for the type of crowd at this McDonald's. But that's not what was there, so it took forever. All my food was hot and fresh, except my McDouble. It was definitely under a lamp for a long time. Otherwise very standard McDonald's food. I'd recommend coming here just for the non-standard look. The prettiest McDonald's I've ever visited, and I was impressed with their famous and unique signs. Our meal was great, food was solid! That being said, it was kinda cramped, crowded and chaotic. There were so many people wandering around and it's kinda small inside. I understand they had a morning rush, however no one was wiping down any tables. A nearby group collected a hefty blob of hand sanitizer and used it to clean their table. This McDonald's had a large outdoor patio but it was way too hot to sit outside. The bathrooms are also small, only one stall so the line was long. This place was cool to visit being that it is the only McDonald's that doesn't display yellow arches. After doing some research, I discovered that it is due to the fact that city planner didn't want the yellow arches to clash with the natural beauty of the canyons. Instead, they opted for a light blue that would not clash with the neutral tones of the natural surroundings. Pretty cool! This McDonald's was your average McDonald's for the most part? other than the teal arches. We arrived around 10:30/10:45 and I was surprised that breakfast was not still being served. (maybe this is all McDonald's - not sure) However, the cashier told us we could still order pancakes or breakfast burritos. I am from NJ and not sure if we have breakfast burritos back home but I ordered them & they were pretty good! There were manyyyy customers & lots took pictures in the front with the signage. It is what is it. I'm here for it and "I'm lovin' it." However, this McDonald's is not like the other girls. No. this one stands out because... their Golden Arches are not gold. Sedona was like, "Screw off, homies. We don't care if you are a multibillion dollar corporation. Red and Yellow look crap together and you are not going to place that color combo in our beautiful town. "So you can't sit with us" with that hideous outfit on. McDonald's was like..."Yo, why are you screaming at us? We get it. We don't like those coordinating colors either but it would cost too much to change for the entire world so we just kept it. Don't worry, Broski... we got chu..." And this, my children, is how Sedona got the one and only Turquoise arches in the entire world. I know, right?!?! McDonald's even took it a step further and consciously dedicated the turquoise color of the arches to the actual Turquoise rocks that the Native Americans in Sedona have valued for many generations. I know y'all think I'm like this incredibly intelligent historian/ foodie. I know, I sound pretty smart. Came here specifically for the blue arches. Known as the only McDonald's in world without the signature golden arches, this place stands out with its unique blue. I read a little on the history behind it...apparently the city thought the gold color would clash with the surrounding red rocks and natural environs, so they opted for turquoise, a color more fitting for Sedona's natural color scheme. Other than the turquoise arches on the big sign, the receipt, napkins, etc, it's like any other McDonald's in the world. "The Blue McDonald's" It was pretty cool seeing the "Golden Arches" being a turquoise color since this is the only McDonald's that is not yellow (looks cooler at night)! Grabbed drive-thru breakfast on the way to the hikes and it was your standard breakfast, the line went pretty fast though.
