    Green chilli chicken
    Sasha N.

I was in Sedona for 6 nights and this was the best food I had my whole trip! I saw it was 17 min out and while driving there I saw the terrifying back to back traffic on the way back. I am so glad I didn't change my mind and turn around because these empenadas are WORTH IT! I at first ordered 4 of them as they were out of one of the flavors I had hoped to try. The chicken curry, green chilli chicken, jalisico lamb, and the brisket corn squash. I also got the chimichuri sauce, green sauce, and ojo sauce. The lady helping me was super friendly while helping me decide what to order. I decided to take the items to go originally thinking I would eat at a park.... So I was so hungry I ended up eating them in the car and quickly realized my plan of saving some for the next days was futile. They were jam packed with flavorful filling, super moist on in the inside, but light and pillowy and not soggy at all, with just enough structure to give the right texture....I walked back in and ordered three more. I personally preferred the chimichuri sauce and felt the other sauces I would have liked more on a street taco. Most of the empenadas honestly can even stand alone without a sauce since they aren't dry and they are seasoned well. I appreciated the little initials on the corner of the empenadas and the cheat sheet they provide so you know which item is what. I also love that they are baked and not deep fried. I found that the GPS took me to the back of the parking lot for some reason. But they are at the front close to a dentist and still have a temporary sign hanging over the old business sign. I think they are a true gem, and deserve all the business they can get.

Vegans pay attention: Willy's, located in Oak Creek Village, has a great variety of worldly inspired empanadas! I indulged in their Green Chili, Mushroom & Potato selection which was forward in both flavor and heat. Talking with their staff, I came to find that this flavor was also one of their favorites! Their menu is deep, with tons of both meat and meatless options for everyone, AND they have a solid draft beer selection. The staff is friendly and even shared their photo wall of the staff's canine companions! Come to find out, the place is named after the owner's dog "Willy"!

We were on our way out and needed a quick bite before hitting the road. My friend found this place while looking up empanadas. Didn't think a place even existed in this tiny town. There is a wide variety of empanadas on their menu and everything sounded amazing. It was so hard to choose. My friend and I each picked two choices and there was a 10-15 minute wait. They make them fresh and I tell you it was worth the wait! That first bite just melts in your mouth. I was tempted to go back and pick up a dozen to take home with me. Will definitely be back again!

This quickly has become our favorite place on a visit to Sedona this year. We stopped here on the way, driving into Sedona and on the way driving out. The empanadas are so delicious. I highly recommend these shepherds pie, the chicken pot pie, the Philly cheesesteak. You won't get something you don't like. Staff is incredibly great and helpful. There is a perfect indoor seating area as well as an outdoor seating area that looks out over the rocks and the little shopping plaza courtyard.

Gluten free vegan chocolate lava cake. Small and pricey but Delicious!!!

Vegan reviewer here! Went to their sister restaurant today looking for empanadas and found out they opened a store a few doors down and had to check it out. I stopped in Sunday afternoon and was delighted to see the vegan empanadas I enjoyed at Dellaphine were just a few doors down. They had several non vegan options and a dedicated vegan section which had a few options. I decided on the vegan spanakopita and vegan chicken curry after finding out they were sold out of their vegan buffalo and a side of green sauce to go. I was hoping they had a sweet empanada but none were vegan although they all sounded tasty. It's a fast casual restaurant with a patio and I placed my order at the register and took a seat. Shortly after the cashier approached me and notified me they had a vegan gluten free lava cake which I delightfully ordered. I placed my order to go and it was brought to my table shortly after. The staff were friendly and helpful! I went to my car and stole a bite of the lava cake and ended up eating the entire thing lol. It was small and a bit overpriced but legitimately delicious! I made the drive back down to Phoenix with my empanadas and popped them in their air fryer before enjoying. The spanakopita was more herby than I expected and not my favorite I probably wouldn't order that again but I really enjoyed the chicken curry! It was packed with vegan chicken and the curry was light and not too overpowering which I enjoyed. They green sauce was a good edition as it allowed me to enjoy both flavors without taking over. I spent $26 including tip and I would stop by again if I'm in the area

This place is phenomenal! Came here to have a desert empanada and it was the best. This place as a beautiful atmosphere and a wonderful outdoor seating area. The service was great, they were really nice

    BBQ Pork, so good!
    Corey N.

I finally made it to Willy's and it was amazing. The BBQ Pork empanada was sweet, smoky, a bit spicy and cooked perfectly. The Jalisco Spicy Lamb had a TON of flavor and was the messiest of the three! (Not a bad thing) Finally, I had the Spicy Beef and Potatoes - it perfectly complimented the other two that were a bit more 'rich'. All three cooked perfectly, piping hot and I highly recommend all of them. Note - it IS Sedona, but at $8 each I wish there was a locals discount. Splitting hairs, so glad I stopped in. Forgot to mention, very clean and friendly, attentive service.

We started with the grilled octopus, which was an excellent appetizer. For the entrées, the fish of the day (halibut) was outstanding--perfectly cooked with incredible flavor. The forest seafood soup had an absolutely amazing broth, rich and full of flavor. The chicken entrée was also delicious and thoroughly enjoyed. For drinks, the signature Mariposa cocktail was excellent and memorable. The Skinny Margarita and the Smoky Pear were enjoyable but didn't stand out as much as the food. The non-alcoholic drinks were also a hit. We finished with the cheesecake, which was a delicious ending to the meal. What impressed me most was the depth of flavor while still feeling fresh and health-conscious. The service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and surprisingly fast without making us feel rushed. The only disappointment was not being seated in one of the dining areas with the beautiful view. Since the scenery is one of Mariposa's highlights, I'd recommend requesting a window or patio table when making a reservation. Although it's definitely on the expensive side, I believe it's worth the price because of the exceptional food, outstanding service, and spectacular setting. Would I return? Absolutely. I'd happily order the grilled octopus, the halibut, and the forest seafood soup again.

Hello Everyone: This review is for the PIEbar in Strawberry, Arizona…read more This is our first time visiting. We ordered one each of the following to try several: Philly Steak Chicken Pot Pie Beef Picadillo Sweet: Strawberry/Rhubarb Dipping Sauce: Chimichurri Here are my thoughts on each: The Philly Steak empanada fell short on flavor and ingredients. When we cut the empanada in half, very little of the empanada had filling. Therefore, a bite tasted more like the empanada crust than a Philly Steak sandwich. When you think of a Philly Steak you think of: steak sliced thin, onion, green pepper and cheese and we did not see this array of ingredients in the empanada. We expected more spices and flavor and also more filling for the price. The Chicken Pot Pie was nice. The gravy was not too thick and I was concerned the dough would absorb most of it, but there was still enough to enjoy. The filling would benefit from salt or garlic salt and pepper, but at least this empanada had more filling than the Philly Steak. The Beef Picadillo is advertised as having: shaved beef, diced potato, green chilies, onion, cilantro, tomato and garlic. In the one we were served, there was a very small amount of beef, the diced potato (three pieces), we did not detect any chilies, onion, cilantro, tomato or garlic. One should be able to see cilantro and tomato and even the chilies, but they were not there. We cut it open and looked. Also, we expected i to be a little spicy considering the ingredients. But, again, the overall flavor fell flat. The strawberry/rhubarb was recommended by PIEbar staff because it was seasonal, so we purchased one of these for our sweet empanada. This empanada shell was full of filling (as we would have expected the others to be), but considering the fruits involved there was little flavor. I saw another reviewer mention the lack of flavor, but I did not want to believe sweet strawberries with tart rhubarb could be "flavorless", but I have to agree, this filling would benefit from a little sugar and/or cinnamon inside the filling. The chimichurri sauce is spicy as advertised. This item hit the mark. We could distinguish all the ingredients in the sauce and it is 'spicy', so for those of you who don't care for heat with your food, we recommend you try a different sauce to dip your savory empanadas into. We brought the order to our cabin (three minutes away) to reheat them in the oven because the moisture from the empanadas was coming through the deli bag quickly, leading me to believe they may have been slightly undercooked and we did not want to take a chance on our vacation of getting sick. NOTE: Other reviewers who posed recently commented on "less filling" than normal which is what we experienced this week. I don't know what they are doing differently, but obviously the regulars feel something has changed. The size of the empanadas would be for a "lite" breakfast or lunch (they are not large). Each one serves one person comfortably (not large enough to share). There is seating outside. This is a little boutique stand of food and when they sell out, they sell out. I think if you adjust your expectations accordingly, you won't be disappointed. The concept is unique and something different than your typical sandwich for lunch.

Originally called the Hitching Post, HP Cafe was Upper Sedona's first diner, opening sometime in the 1940s on a now-busy AZ-89A. Upon arrival as first-timers via the side entrance overlooking a pleasant pedestrian plaza, my partner and I opted to sit al fresco at a high-top table on their patio that came complete with a soothing waterfall and heaters for the cooler months. The inside dining room featured low lights, real wood tables, red cloth napkins, soothing gray walls, and a brightly lit wine cellar illuminating various bottles. Our menu has nice varieties of a typical American breakfast with some Mexican in the mix. We decided on the HP French Toast and Day of Cowboy Hash. The food was authentic, fresh, and so flavorful with the right portions. I had the opportunity to exchange words with the owner, Judy. Bobbi was our server. That plan never survives contact with the display case. You start pointing things out, adding one more, then another, and suddenly you're walking out with a full box. My go-to is the Bavarian cream pastry. It's perfect. Not overly sweet, not heavy, just balanced and done right. It's the kind of thing you finish and immediately think about grabbing another. The pricing almost feels like a mistake in your favor. On our last visit, we bought enough pastries for ten people, with extras left over, and it came out to just under $20.
