The salon is very clean, owner was making rounds to every customer and asking if they need anything, and the prices are very good. I docked one star because my pinky cuticle is sore and my friend said she wanted tips and dip but they only did the dip. Otherwise, everything was great! I got a mani and pedi, gel polish for the pedi and dip and small design for the mani. The total was about $107 before tip. Everything is perfectly even, no crooked nails or left over bits of skin. I got serviced right away and they had walls and walls of color to choose from. The guy who did my pedi (John?) did very well and so did Thi who did my mani. She made sure to keep reshaping so the dip wasn't too thick on my nail. Rachel, the front desk was very nice as well. Complimentary beverage with each session. Today was the first day I visited Jay Anthony's Nail Spa and I absolutely loved my experience. I walked in without an appointment and was luck to be taken right away. Summer did my pedicure and she was so amazing. Not only did she do a great and thorough job, she took the time to make sure everything was good, not to hot, that I loved my color choice etc. not many take the time to check in with the customer and I really appreciated that. The nail tech refused to work on my daughter because she has Cerebral Pasly and is in a wheelchair. My daughter requires extra time to get her nails done, this was communicated prior to the appointment and was approved. When my daughter had a muscle spasm (she has CP), the tech stopped and refused service. My daughter has her nails done regularly. She never has an issue. Every other tech who has worked with her (other salons, other states) have patiently waited for the spasm to stop (it takes about 3 seconds) before continuing. so i came in to try a new salon, since my old one is so-so. the salon itself is beautiful and very relaxing. the technician i got was not very nice. he was an older man with grey hair. he did an okay job overall, i got dip on natural nails with red french tips. the lines are not very crisp, but the overall look is cute. i specifically told him i didn't want them cut, but he cut the tips anyway. he said he was getting the polish on top off, but he took some of my nails too. he also split my index fingernail at the tip. he was rather nasty after i told him he could have just soaked the polish off instead, which was true. after filing later, they were a good bit shorter. no big deal. they'll grow back. i might return but ill definitely be requesting a different technician. read more

My favorite nail salon in Orlando area by far... Rosa always takes care of me, and Timmy is absolutely meticulous and excellent in his work. I get ombre French and constantly get compliments on my nails. I'm not sure how anyone is complaining about the prices because their prices are exceptionally reasonable -- especially when compared to other salons in the area (such as "Maitland Nails & Spa" that completely rips their customers off by charging *separate fees* to literally file and shape your nails while doing a standard fill - not to mention the owner of Maitland Nails actually started yelling at me on the phone telling me "maybe you're used to going to cheap nail salons"...lol I'm from Delray Beach where I can assure you, salons are far from cheap and look ten times classier than their little hole in the wall) It took me a while to find someone up here that did my nails as well as my tech in South Florida, but Jay Anthony Nails quickly became my new spot and I've been a loyal customer now for the past three years. read more

I really like this place! Location is convenient - and they always seem to be busy. Pricing seems about average. They seem to have some confusion issues (I've seen people who got there earlier come after people who got there later.) But, overall they are nice, friendly, and do a good job. Also, they have a bar. I did have one issue - it was my first time doing The dip powder, and they have a wide variety of colors. I picked one up that I thought matched the color on the sample, but it turned out to be a very different color. I had showed the lady at the front which color I wanted and she said oh yeah just grab it from over there. So I thought I had grabbed the right one!Looking back, I probably should've asked. How can my previous experience be a positive one ( 4 stars and ROTD) and this one so tragic? I am so sorely disappointed by experience today that I will be going back to try and talk with the owners tomorrow or Monday. This was one of the worst, if not THE WORST, pedicures I've had in my life. I don't even know where to begin. I won't go into all the details of my awful pedicure but will share the highlights. - The lady doing my pedi (I did not get her name) was the rudest woman I've ever encountered at a salon. She berated me for cutting my own nails at home, tell me I don't know what I'm doing and they are uneven and messed up. That got stares from other people getting pedis. I was extremely embarrassed but it got worse when she said something in her native language to the lady next to her who then looked up at me and laughed. I wanted to leave then and there, and should have, but didn't. - She started filing my toe nails and I asked her to cut them, as I like them short. She yelled at me that they were short enough because of my "terrible job cutting" and there was no need. I told her again, that I wanted them short and asked her to cut. She did not, but did violently filed them, taking the tops of my toes with the nails. - She was digging and digging into my nail beds until I finally yelped in pain. She cut my nail so deep and so high that I bled for quite a bit. (That toe is now red and hot to the touch and I've been cleaning it with peroxide. It hurts to walk on.) - When scrubbing my feed she did so extremely rough and I asked her to not do it so hard. It's tickled before (almost always) but this was painful. She said if I didn't like how she was doing it, she wouldn't do it. And she didn't. She left my feet as is without exfoliating the dead skin. They are is the same condition now as they were before I went in. - The massage part actually started off nice, good pressure, but when she asked how it was and I said nice, she increased the pressure. She kept going harder and harder, and digging her nails into me, until I said "Ow!" really loud. She shrugged and said I thought you liked it hard. - The nails are cut (filed) unevenly, the dead skin on the corners of each toe is all still there, and the paint job atrocious. The paint on some nails doesn't even completely cover the nail. There's paint on the skin (both sides and front). The receptionist looked super embarrassed when she asked me how it was and I told her it was one of the worst experiences ever and IF I were to ever return, I would never want her again. She didn't do anything or get the manager, but she apologized for my experience. This was the most bizarre and uncomfortable experience at a spa ever. She made me feel little, yelling at me multiple times, and then making comments to her colleague. My toenails look like crap and I'm pretty sure my toe is infected. Needless to say I'm livid and will not be a return customer. *Sorry for the close up of my feet. i wanted you to see the crappy paint job and how the dead skin was not removed. read more

This is my 3rd time here for a pedi. I have only gotten basic pedicures with regular polish but this time my experience wasnt great. If you want regular polish you should bring your own because it looks they are not interested in replenishing theirs and their selection is very limited and a lot of bottles look like theyre almost empty. I got slapped on my legs at the end of my massage under the excuse I was too tense...ok now you just made it worse! WTH?? She over charged for an "upgraded" pedi Without consulting and didnt even use cuticle softener or buffed my toe nails. The worst part was my manicure. I asked for a basic one without polish. My hands and cuticles needed TLC due to work. She dipped my hands in warm water only for a less than a minute. Didnt use any product on my cuticles before pretending to push back and trimming. She trimmed a bot but as you can tell from the pics, it doesnt even look like anything was done Pinched me under a nail wth her tool drawing blood because she was being rough again, didnt really buffed my nails and gave me a hand massage that lasted maybe a minute per hand. Overall it looked like she was cutting corners and rushing. Both services took less than 45 minutes total to complete. Ended up paying $50 for the total experience. I emailed the owner the next morning with pictures of my so called manicure including all these details of the overall experience and giving her a chance before posting a review but I havent heard back in over 4 days. I do want to say that Gail at the Glam Room is great. I will come back to the location ONLY for my hair services because I know Gail and trust her but not for mani pedis anymore. I have had one too many bad experiences here with today being my last I constantly see them putting remover or water in the polishes rather than buying new ones, and what results because of that is polish that doesn't stick to the nail. I use regular polish today and I let it dry under the dryer for 30 minutes and I had left the shop and was gone approximately 30 minutes and many of my fingernails the polish started to come off. It started to fold up like a curtain when I went back the owner did repair it and when I asked, why did it do that she replied because of the heat outside it's too hot. If you are considering this business, I'd think twice. While I was there, another lady came in with the same issue only her polish was gel. I went to get a gel manicure on a Sunday at 4 p.m. The salon was lightly populated, and I waited 15 minutes. This was my first visit to Jay Anthony, so I had nothing to compare the experience to. I chose my color and waited. A technician came over and wrapped my nails in acetone, cotton, foil, and gloves. Eventually, she was done with the previous client and came over to me and commenced with the manicure. After the trimming and filing, she painted my nails white. Since this was my first time there, I thought this was some kind of pretreatment ... it was not. Even though the nail color I chose was sitting right there, she painted my nails white. When I commented on this, she tried to paint over the white, but it wasn't working. The manager came over and said they didn't have time to remove the polish and apply the right color, so I would have to return. I had my service dog with me the whole time, and he was well behaved. I did not have time to return until the following Thursday. I showed up at 6 p.m. The sign on the door said the salon closed at 7:30 p.m. The manager immediately said that the salon was closing even though there were several people were there. She also said that my dog was too large and frightened the customers. I reminded her that I was just there on the previous Sunday, and no one was frightened. I was going to make an appointment to return on Friday, and she wanted me to come in the morning when fewer people would be there. My dog is well behaved, goes everywhere with me, and is universally loved wherever we go. I'm not sure why the manager had such a strong negative reaction to him, but we will be taking our paws elsewhere read more

Whenever I don't get my nails done by him, I am always disappointed either with the work or they have me waiting for a very long time. The last time I got my nails done. I got there at 4:15 for an appointment. Turns out someone else has just started getting their nails done by the person whom I set my appointment with. Needless to say, I didn't leave until 7:30. I was very hungry, tired and wanted to walk out on several occasions. She is dictating (to her receptionist) where every client goes, and who goes first, and which one had appointment etc. I'm all for the owner wanting to run their salon and make sure it runs smoothly, but then they should NOT take clients! We had minimal conversation, she didn't seem to understand the few things I asked about, she asked me twice where I had previously gone, and last but not least, this is the worse job I've ever had done. I asked for "coffin" shape, these appear to be more squared. She needed to replace a nail on the middle finger, and it is clearly shorter than the rest. The thumb nail is not "smooth" to the tip, there is a "bump" at the tip. I have never returned to a salon to have my nails redone, but I probably would this time - if she were not already the owner! My advice to her would be if you are going to take clients, let your employees do their job; and direct your attention to the person in your chair, instead of "directing" everything around you.- read more
