The wax parlor is in a suite with a salon. When you get inside your in a green lobby with several doors. You definitely can't open any doors unless someone opens the door for you or buzzes you in. On a big tv monitor there are the names of each person, so you have to find Wendy's name and dial the extension with a phone provided. There's a huge ottoman to sit and relax as you wait. I was definitely sitting there for less then five minutes before I was serviced which was great. I was waxed by Wendy and she did a lovely job on my Brazilian. She took her time and even was able to squeeze in my underarms although I didn't schedule it. She is a gem! I'm used to being waxed but have been waxed with strips but at the wax parlor they don't use strips. It was actually less painful and I was in and out in record time. I wish this place was near where I lived which is 2 hrs away. Either way, the next time I'm in the Orlando area I will be sure to book an appointment. The ambiance is wonderful and elegant. It is a beautifully decorated one room suite in Porte Noire. Initially, I was lost trying to navigate because I thought it was a free standing building. I called Wendy and she was patient with me as she explained the directions. When I was in there, Wendy had lemon grass essential oils in the diffuser, which really contributed to the relaxed environment. Wendy is very talented at what she does. She mentioned that she only does waxing services (and not any other services) because she wants to specialize in one thing and be great at it. Believe me, she did that. I was a bit nervous first about coming to get my lady bits waxed as I didn't know what to expect! But thanks to a friend who told me about this new little wax box that is another hidden gem in Winter Park. She goes there to get her hair done (same building) I was happy that I did. Like another reviewer below said "It is like an Alice in Wonderland" kind of experience. I felt like I was entering into a fairytale that I didn't want to come out of! My waxer was certainly no mad hatter but a wonderful girl from London (maybe she was Alice) that plucked, pruned and got my lady parts all groomed! I felt like a new woman after and felt like after this heat wave that we have just had, that I had air conditioning installed into my basement. I enjoyed my experience at The Wax Parlor. Wendy was professional and made me feel comfortable. I most liked about her little space that it was decked out with a TV and a diffuser. It's the simple things that matter. I've been waxed before so I knew what kind of discomfort to experience. With that being said, I knew to choose someone that was using a hard wax versus strips to remove unwanted hair because it's a lot less painful. I completely agree with all the other reviews here. Wendy's spot is cute and cozy and she is SO sweet. This was my first time getting waxed with hard wax, previously I've done sugaring and was interested to see how waxing compares. Pain wise I found waxing to be the same or maybe slightly less painful. I will be interested to see if I find any differences with hair regrowth. I've been getting waxed for years and this was by far the best experience! Not only was Wendy the absolute sweetest (super personable & easy to talk to which is great because she can distract you from what's really going on) but so good at what she does! I typically take an Advil before a wax to alleviate some of the pain but wasn't able to do so in advance of this appointment. It didn't matter...even without the Advil I felt no pain; she attributed it to the quality of the wax she uses. I would 100% recommend Wendy and The Wax Parlor!! read more
