About two weeks ago I had sugaring Brazilian booked with Leslie. My usual sugar location was slightly further away and I needed to be in the area so I booked an appointment at Body by Shae based on the high reviews and location. When I walked in I was slightly uncomfortable at the fact that there were no disposable papers or towels down on top of the beds. I have never been to any studio where there is not a protective barrier between a person's body and the chair, no matter how thoroughly the chair is cleaned. However, Leslie was very welcoming and I brushed it off, assuring myself they must be thoroughly sanitized between clients.  After being left to undress I was surprised not to be given a towel to cover myself with. I was wearing a dress so I wasn't uncomfortable sitting at the table waiting for Leslie to return, but if I had been wearing pants I would have been extremely uncomfortable without anything over me knowing she would have to open the divider while I sat there uncovered.  Leslie was wonderful to talk to, but as she began sugaring at one point the table shifted. She acknowledged it and moved the table back into place. When she was almost done, the table essentially collapsed onto the side completely. I was left leaning over, balancing on an angle. I could tell Leslie was extremely concerned and she had me very carefully roll off the bed. She repeatedly kept saying how it was lucky I was "so small" implying I could have tumbled off the bed or the bed could have collapsed completely. She quickly left to check if the other room was available and moved me into that one to complete the service while two other technicians began disassembling the other bed. We all laughed about it in the moment, but I was shaken up.  Leslie finished, left me to get dressed, and I hurried to meet her in the reception area eager to leave after the experience. Leslie said she had shared what had happened with the receptionist. While she was very polite and asked me how my service was, I was astonished that the receptionist did not acknowledge anything that had occurred despite being told by Leslie. I was too shocked to say anything in the moment.  When I got home I was surprised to see some obvious leftover stray hairs in the bikini area and sugaring paste still stuck to me. I'm used to not all the hairs being removed and some residue, but both felt like more than the normal amount. I'm not sure if the leftover sugar and hair was an oversight due to the table collapse incident and switching rooms, but the end result and experience is not what I am accustomed to. I sent an email detailing the experience requesting a refund. After sending the first email without a response, I forwarded my first email to another email posted on the pamphlet I was given. After not receiving a response after the weekend I tried calling, but the mailbox was full and I couldn't leave a message. To their credit they texted me in the morning notating that I had called and asked how they could assist. I reported my unanswered emails and they texted back a manager would be looking at my emails. Someone called me shortly after, but I missed their call. After calling them back I was told the owner wanted to respond to me directly, but was out with the flu and would not be back until Tuesday and was asked to wait until then. After not hearing from them by Thursday I texted again. This time the owner, Shae, responded that she has been very ill. I was told that as stated in the consent form no refunds were to be offered and was offered 30% off a service to return to Body by Shae to try a different tech. I replied after the experience I had no interest in returning and didn't think it was unreasonable to request a refund as I hoped my experience fell outside what was the normal experience. I did not receive a response, and while I understand the owner has been sick, the communication across the entire team has been poor. For this being my first experience having a sugar wax or any type of wax down stairs it was so great.

I used to be so scared about waxing in general. Body by Shae was highly recommended to me by multiple friends, specifically for their sugaring services. The staff is absolutely great! I personally have been going to Eva since my first visit and every time it's such a wonderful experience with her, it's like having a therapy session every time. The products that are recommended after your service as available for purchase which I found great, I have personally bought multiple products and all have been amazing. Sugaring is definitely such a different get natural way of getting rid of unwanted body hair. If you're looking to treat yourself, every service has been perfection. Received an email with a "New Daily Deal" and decided to book the facial as I had been wanting to try this place out. Luckily, I was able to get a same day appointment. This was the highlight of the whole thing. Scheduling the appointment required two phone calls to clarify what I was booked for as the confirmation text was for a different service. The service itself was ... okay. I guess what left an impression was what followed. After my service, I was escorted out to the reception area to pay but backed into the door while I waited as four women were gathered and talking/laughing loudly about dieting, divorces, and the like. Think loud salon banter among regulars and you are not a regular. It was hard for me to figure out what, other than this conversation, was happening. Eventually, the conversation came to an end and two of the four ladies disappeared into the hallway of treatment rooms but not before one nearly backed into me - already cornered near the exit - because she didn't notice me. Turns out it was the owner (one of the ladies referred to her by name). As the lady at the desk finally decides to pay, I noticed a new email from Body by Shae. It was a receipt email for a different amount than I intended to pay for my services. Mind you, I haven't reached the counter yet. After waiting a little while longer, I figured out the transaction before mine was emailed to me but the card wasn't mine. Things happen. The jist is: if you're looking to have a service done, this may be your place. If you're looking for an EXPERIENCE, there's other local options at similar price points. By the reviews, a lot of people like this place but I won't return. A lot of businesses offer the same service but it's the experience they provide that differentiates them. Overall I had a really disappointing experience at body by shae, it was a few months back but I'm just now getting around to reviewing. I booked a facial and a lash lift. Started out good, tech was super nice, was asked if I wanted to add on anything to my service and I picked a couple things. Halfway through my service the front desk told my tech that they needed the room and we had to move, which was really uncomfortable. I sat there in my towel for almost 30 minutes while they waited for another room to open up for me, and was then told there wouldn't be time for me to do one of the two extras I had opted in for. We finally get out into another room and it's bright and loud and we get my lift done and she finishes my facial, but the experience at this point was ruined. I get out to the front desk to pay and they tell me the price I saw on the menu for extras was incorrect and they "reserve the right to change the prices at any point" - to which my response was in the two hours I was here? They begrudgingly honored the prices and said they'd make an exception for me... which was awkward. So I probably won't return, and feel sad I didn't have the experience the other reviewers had. I don't like feeling like a burden, especially for beauty treatments. It was a really disappointing experience all around. I am so in love with sugaring now. No more hard wax Brazilians for me. The sugar is room temperature. It still hurts to get hair snatched from the follicle, but nothing can beat the ease of removal for the sugar product that may get left behind from the process. When wax gets stuck to your skin, it is painful to be removed. Sugar just dissolves with a warm towel. To remove the hair from your butt crack you just raise your knees to your chest. None of that on all fours, or lying on your stomach and spreading holding your cheeks business. The location is near the part of Lee Rd. that is closest to 17-92, not Edgewater Dr. It is easy to find, and clean and comfortable. Keira was very nice and attentive. I will definitely return. If you are not familiar with Body by Shae, it is a mini spa off of Lee Road in Orlando's Winter Park. They offers a great variety of services and this review is exclusively on their sugaring services. Before I go on with this review, I want to say that if you have never heard of sugaring before or you are looking to try it out, it is an alternative hair removal service like waxing, but that tends to be more natural and less painful ( also I have never personally gotten a wax before, but the process is somewhat different, a ball of sugar composed of more natural ingredients is used to remove your hair, as opposed to wax and strips). I also want to mention that if you are looking to book an appointment here, do it as early as possible, as they are usually busy and booked up. You might get lucky but I don't recommend waiting till the day of, to schedule an appointment because chances are slots have become booked as of that morning ( they also have an app you can book through called Vagaro, although sometimes it freezes and is slow). Also if you have never experienced sugaring before or are unfamiliar with certain protocol, my best advice is to plan ahead. Make sure you have at least 2 weeks of grown hair to work with, wear something loose, maybe exfoliate, obviously be clean, and afterwards stay away from any kinds of irritants (including harsh soaps, products containing a lot of chemicals or even simple products such as deodorant). It is recommended that after your appointment you stay clear of sun exposure to the area of the skin that was sugared ( just don't take your chances stay clear of sun/ irritants and maybe don't plan a beach day after your appointment). To actually begin with this review, I want to say that it was personally a bit hard to come by Body by Shae (even with the GPS). The sign is so small I completely bypassed it twice. Once arriving you will notice that the spa is this very small house looking building. Today was my first time ever getting a hair removal service. I have always wanted to get a wax, but I am really into holistic more natural options. After doing more research I came across sugaring (and this place). I called earlier in the morning to book an appointment with Dani Berrios for a full Brazilian and underarms sugaring service (which I saw on the app last night, and they thankfully still had that open spot and some others). Upon entering the facility you will be greeted with a smile by the front desk receptionist (whom I unfortunately did not get/ remember her name) but you will notice how clean, organized, and peaceful the environment is. In my experience today, everyone was super kind, friendly, punctual, and professional. I came in a few minutes early, filled out paperwork, and was immediately admitted in for my appointment. As for my actual appointment, going to get hair removal in your private area or even other areas, can be a bit awkward or intimidating, but regardless Dani was the best! She was so kind and patient and made me feel super comfortable throughout the entire process (even though I unintentionally sort of kicked/kneed her at least 8 times). Apart from her kindness and patience, she is very professional and explains every step of the process to you to before performing the steps of the service. On top of everything else, she encouraged me with affirmation like, "You got this" and "You are doing great". Going into my appointment I was very timid and nervous not knowing exactly what to expect. But during the entire process, Dani really helped reassure me and build my confidence. Like I mentioned before I have never gotten any kind of hair removal service and I cannot compare it to sugaring, but if I'm being completely honest sugaring (depending on what part of the body) was not all sunshine and rainbows, it can be painful (which is supposed to get better after the first time, just like any other hair removal service), but it is 100% manageable. The pain can be invigorating in the moment but it goes away within seconds. Regardless the results are totally worth it and it is a decently quick service. I personally was in and out within 25 minutes. Total summary: If you are looking for a spa that has a friendly and clean environment, a professional staff that makes you feel confident, reassured, and comfortable, and place that is punctual and time efficient, I recommend that you look no further. Chafon did an amazing job on my eyelash lift and tint! My eyelashes are blonde and tend to stick out straight. Now they stand straight up as if I've used an eyelash curler. I love how dark the tint is too! She did an excellent job of making me comfortable as this was my first time doing this procedure. I highly recommend this place! I went in for an eyelash lift/perm a while back so this review is only based on that one experience. The waiting area was very nice. The room where they did the service was uncomfortably warm but they said it was on purpose (forgot the explanation). The woman who provided the service was very nice and made me feel very comfortable. Unfortunately, my eyelashes were exactly the same afterward. I honestly think she could tell but didn't want to admit it. I probably should have spoken up about it but I was worried about how she would react and...I just don't know, it's one of those things where you feel awkward to complain. Some days I have it in me to say something and some days I just dont, that was one of those days. I wish SHE had spoken up and promised to fix it but she didn't. I believe she needed to leave the perming solution on my lashes longer but she was staying on the safe side (which I can understand but I am still paying a lot of money for absolutely no results and a waste of time). I got out of there and then I rushed to go catch a flight. I feel like I wasted my money. Later on, I saw youtube tutorials on how to do it yourself with a very cheap kit I bought online. It came out great when i did it at home, was actually less scary to do it to myself (believe it or not), and it actually worked because I left it on for the adequate amount of time. I see that not everyone had my experience but not everyone's lashes are the same thickness or equally stubborn. Regardless, I wish they would take the initiative to point out when their service did not perform as promised for a particular client rather than put that client in the uncomfortable position of pointing out the obvious. Discovered Body by Shae through a deal on Groupon and have been coming back ever since! Great service. Very knowledgeable. Tiffany is fabulous! I've be going to her for probably about a year now for waxing. My last visit I tried out sugaring at her recommendation. I can tell you I will definitely keep asking for that method. I have very sensitive skin. But the pain and recovery time has been far shorter with the sugaring than traditional waxing. Before moving to Orlando recently I had been going to the same waxer for almost a year. When a girl does a good Brazilian she's a keeper. That's what I was hoping to find over here and I'm pretty sure I did at body by Shae! I made the appointment online through Yelp for sugaring instead of waxing. After reading through so many reviews I was convinced that it was a better alternative to waxing. My appointment was with Shae and she was awesome. She did an excellent job explaining exactly what sugaring was and why it is so much better than waxing. Personally when it came to pain wise, it felt basically the same as waxing but Shae told me after a few sessions of sugaring I would notice a decrease in pain. I don't really mind, I've been waxing for almost 6 years and it doesn't really bother me. One thing I definitely liked was how it wasn't hot so you don't have to worry about getting burned like some of us have to with waxing. The only con is that it takes a lot longer to spread the sugar on your skin so it took us about 30 minutes to finish as opposed to 15 with waxing. I'm going to give it a few weeks and see how my skin reacts differently to sugar, but even if I'm not a fan of sugaring I'll definitely be back to see Shae. She is so cool and friendly and hilarious which of course helps ease the pain as hair is being removed from your sensitive lady bits.
