Because I had an unpleasant beginning to my overall appointment experience but a really great sugaring service. Starting from the beginning; I usually go to a waxing service but wanted to try something different and this place is super close. Looking at their website I saw the "firstservicefree" promotion and thought why not! I scheduled my appointment for the Winter Springs location and used the promo code they provided on the website and it brought my total down to $0 (I still tipped cash). SWEET! This was a week ago. This morning I received a call (a little over an hour before my appointment) that they would not honor the promotion because their store no longer participates. That's kind of frustrating. So I spoke to the manager and explained that there was no notation that the promotion was only at participating locations and that the promo code worked when booking the appointment. However, they resolved the issue and I proceeded with my appointment. Note: during this week period I did try contacting the store on Sunday to modify the appointment and move it up one day. No one answered the phone (I called twice). The sugaring experience with Meredith was great. She was very sweet and explained everything in detail. She was very meticulous and clean and I noticed that new gloves were being used often. Not sure if the process is less painful than waxing (I think in certain spots it may have been more uncomfortable) but I left feeling like a smooth mermaid. Her: she is sweet and professional She asked me what I liked and disliked about previous studio experiences and she really made sure I was comfortable and happy the entire time. She also didn't try to sell me anything, which is huge for me. She educated me about types of products that would be good for my specific hair and how I could incorporate them into my routine, but she didn't try to make me buy anything. Her studio: I had to call to figure out exactly where it was (it is inside a larger salon building), but once inside it was clean, quiet, and comfortable. I also love that you can book entirely online, which is surprisingly rare for hair studios. On a side note: I'd urge Yelp to only allow verified customers to review businesses. I read a one star review prior to booking my appointment, but it was a person who never visited Elizabeth's studio, just someone who disagreed with her marketing practices. This isn't why people come to Yelp and these types of reviews can distort the valuable data Yelp provides.
