I went in to get an eyebrow and bikini wax. I got Muriel to work on me. The reason they are getting two stars is because I really liked how they didn't double dip the wax sticks. I think that practice is unhygenic. But not even 48 hours later, I have dark black hair reappearing on my eyebrows (which were trimmed to within an inch of their life- I've never had anyone trim the outer eyebrow hairs- usually just the ones where the brow is thicker). Same with my bikini wax. There are spots that were missed and stray hairs I am pulling out. I know hot wax isn't as good as removing the finer hairs, but then use strip wax to do those fine hair areas. All in all, I don't think my brows can handle another round here. read more

I know that Renata gets a lot of reviews on here, but I had gotten Margot when I showed up for my first appointment. She was wonderful; very knowledgeable and professional! She did a great job at making me feel comfortable and by the end of my session we were laughing and joking as she ripped the hair from my nether regions. In the past, I've only had the traditional stinky yellow wax that is applied and yanked off with cloth strips. I wasn't too sure what I expect with this "hard wax", but I'm completely sold! It definitely doesn't hurt as much as traditional waxing, and the wax was a nice warm temperature. In my past experiences, sometimes the yellow soft wax can be far too hot in certain places! Also unlike traditional waxing, my results were kept longer and I experienced virtually no irritation afterwards. Aside from Margot's great work, the salon itself is VERY clean and nicely decorated. I went after work, so it felt like I was the only customer there. The business is located in a massage spa on the corner of Mills and Virginia. Be warned: Renata and Margot seem to be the only employees so when you book, be flexible or be ready to wait even a few weeks for your appointment. I went ahead and scheduled my second one (which is today) after my first appointment which was 5 weeks ago just to make sure I was able to get my preferred time. I would start out by saying I had a great experience at Wax Orlando and will be back. I have never had any professional waxing done before but had always wanted to try it, so I jumped straight to the point and got a full Brazilian! I was nervous and had some questions, so I emailed them; all my questions were answered within a day and my appointment was set. The place was easy to find and I ended up being early (I was told once I arrived that it is best to arrive right on time), but Renata just happen to be available anyway. The place was very clean, calming and Renata let me know the process before getting started. As a male getting his first waxing, let alone a Brazilian, I was nervous and a little scared of the pain, but between the technique and casual conversation the experience was less painful than I anticipated. Renata was very nice, professional and personable so it made me feel more at ease during my visit. I was in and out in about 40 minutes which I was surprised how fast it was. I am happy with the results as I feel great, any irritation was minimal and completely diminished within 8-12 hours and I only found a few rough hairs that I plucked myself in the couple days afterward. Compared to other places around my part of town, Wax Orlando is priced very competitively from my own research (at least for males) so you will not be breaking the bank coming here either. BEST WAX SALON IN CENTRAL FLORIDA!! I am Brazilian and would only get waxed when I would travel back to Brazil because I could never find anyone in Orlando who did it the way they do it in Brazil with the hard wax. I have a hard time trusting wax places in the US, because I have had only bad experiences (burned eyebrows, waxed too thin, etc) and even tried a "Brazilian salon" over on International Drive. At the 'Brazilian' place on I-Drive, I should have been immediately skeptical when I saw they didn't use hard wax, but used the strips. After about 5 minutes I told the lady to stop and walked out crying. It was so painful, she popped a blood vessel and then told me that was there before she started.....LOL...right. Needless to say, I swore off any waxing in Florida and was ready to accept that I would only wax again if in Brazil. BUT THEN I READ ABOUT WAX ORLANDO!!!!! I drove past one day and decided to look it up. The first review is what made me book my appointment. I read that she used hard wax and it wasn't painful at all. I thought...could it be true?!! Booked my appointment with Renata and have been back every 3-4 weeks since. How I did not know about this place before will haunt me for the rest of my life. Updating my review: Today is the 4th day since I had my eyebrows done. My eye is beyond irritated and my eye is nearly swollen shut, I had to go to an urgent care to receive medication.
