I decided to check out Crystal Glass & Mirror and put in an order online. Unfortunately I made a mistake placing the order online, and called the store after hours to leave a message explaining the situation. Someone called me first thing in the morning and was able to sort it all out. Everything was done quickly, and it was cut to perfection. The glass felt sturdy, and it has held up quite nicely. I am an advanced DIY'er and ordered this 3 panel sliding glass wall/door and installed it myself…read more My experiences with Crystalia were interesting but first let me say right up front, I love this door! It looks great, has no frame around the sliding panels other than the outer frame of the whole thing and the quality of the materials are absolutely top notch! But if your going to buy this sliding type of glass door and install it yourself there are a few things you need to know. They make the doors custom per your dimensions. This is not a, "you buy it off the shelf, and install it like any other door", setup. Since they custom build it to your specific opening they require very precise measurements. And I mean precise like using a laser setup and deltas every 12 inches. I had all the tools and did provide all the detailed measurement but the frustrating part is I was in early stages of construction so I didn't have the opening finished to provide the measurement which delayed everything about a month. But I will say when they provided the door, the frame did fit pretty precisely so they do cut it to your specifications. Since this is essentially panels of tempered glass with no frame, you get rails for the bottom of the panels that have rollers and adjusters on them that you have to install on the panels. This is not an easy task. There is a rubber gasket you have to wrap around the bottom edge of the panel first and then form the aluminum channel over it. It took a while to figure out how to get this done. Then you have to screw on the end caps to the roller rail and there are two different cap types. There are Zero - None - Nada - Instruction so you have to figure this out from watching their install video that has no words!!!! Yeah, I installed the wrong caps on the wrong doors and then had to remove all the doors again and change the caps. And the screw holes on the caps didn't all line up right so one screw got stuck. It was a mess. A set of INSTRUCTIONS would have been nice! The Glass panels are heavy! (which they do warn you about before you receive them) I have professional glass suctions cups that were a life saver in moving the panels. I did the install by myself but if you have help things will be easier. So with installing the frame and assembling the three glass door panels, and installing them, took pretty much the full day. I went slow and watched their video probably a dozen times as I went through each step as I didn't want to make any non reversible mistakes. Again, INSTRUCTIONS would have been nice! In summary if you're buying this sliding door from Crystalia and having them install it then I would give it 5 stars as I am sure they can install it easily themselves. But if your installing it yourself or having your contractor install it, beware, this is not like a typical door install and will require figuring it all out and more time than you anticipate. But as I said in the beginning, we LOVE the look of this door and the wide open view it provides and would absolutely buy it again. The quality is there and the cost was reasonable for a custom door.

My breakfast room window, which is next to the fire escape, has been broken since the day I moved into the apartment. The super tried to fix it over the 6 years that I've lived here; however, it remained broken and dangerous. Fortunately, Altin and Egli, who are employed by A&J, came today and fixed my window. They even went throughout the apartment, checking all of the other windows to make sure there were no other issues. Altin and Egli were kind, respectful, professional and efficient. In this case, I gave far too much. **5/9/26: UPDATE - SEE SCREENSHOT OF ILONA GUMENYUK'S 5/8/26 EMAIL CONFIRMING REGGIE ARRIVING TO DISTRIBUTE REFUNDS AND REPLACE MY SCREENS -- NONE OF WHICH HAPPENED. AND NOT A WORD FROM ANYONE.** I hired Reggie Villa / A&J Window and Glass to create custom window screens and a balcony screen solution for my apartment. Based on my recommendation, two neighbors also hired him and paid deposits as well. What followed was weeks of missed appointments, repeated promises to "check with the factory and call me back within the hour," long stretches of no communication, repeated promises that things would be ready "next week," and eventually requests for refunds that never materialized. As delays continued, Ilona Gumenyuk repeatedly communicated on the company's behalf regarding scheduling, refunds, and assurances that replacement materials and payments were forthcoming. When Reggie finally arrived to install my window screens, he showed up hours late with screens that were several inches too short and did not fit properly (see photo). Instead of acknowledging the issue, he attempted to explain the large visible gaps as intentional. One screen had to literally be hammered into place. Even after this, I still allowed myself to believe repeated assurances that properly fitted replacement screens and refunds were finally coming. They weren't. Since then, the two neighbors I referred have filed complaints with the Office of the New York State Attorney General Consumer Frauds Bureau, the Better Business Bureau, and local law enforcement. It is also worth noting that the company's Google Business Profile now appears as "Permanently Closed," despite the company continuing to communicate with customers and schedule supposed future work. As a result, customers can no longer post new Google reviews. I strongly encourage anyone considering this company to read the prior detailed negative reviews carefully. I wish I had.

Daria was a wonderful initial point person and stayed in touch throughout the process by phone and text. Vova came out for the initial assessment and measurements, and he was patient, kind, and really listened to what I needed. The initial estimate was more than I could afford, and I thought I'd have to contact several other companies for bids. Oliver worked with me to bring the price closer to my budget, and I was able to skip that exercise. I also decided to handle the glazing and weatherstripping myself. Michael and Ivan came to do the work, and they were thorough, quick, and resourceful. These are very old windows, and they encountered some obstacles along the way, but they figured things out and did an excellent job. They also cleaned up beautifully and left the area cleaner than when they arrived. Everyone I dealt with was kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. The workmen's primary language is Ukrainian, so their English was sometimes limited, but this was easily handled because there was always someone in the office available to communicate with both of us in either Ukrainian or English. I've had plenty of experience with workmen whose first language isn't English, so this wasn't an issue for me. I also really appreciated the way the company combines technology with personal communication. Everything is handled efficiently, but you never feel like you're being left to deal with technology on your own. There was always a real person keeping in touch. The entire team is Ukrainian, which was particularly meaningful to me as an East Village resident and a Veselka old timer. I was very happy to support them. This is the way business should be done. While the quality of the mirror and shelves was outstanding and transformed my mini bar into something remarkable--with my contractor installing everything flawlessly--the overall experience was marred by the shockingly poor customer service. The price was very fair. Despite providing the accurate measurements, I received glass shelves in the wrong size. Instead of acknowledging the error, Bernie refused to take responsibility. In fact, he was furious, and he treated me condescendingly, even going so far as to mock and humiliate me in his store in front of his colleagues. His hostility and dismissive attitude made what should have been a simple correction (with an apology) into an unnecessarily prolonged and unpleasant ordeal. This review is based on at least 3 visits to the shop myself over a period of many weeks, so it was not just "one off day". It is baffling that a business with such a longstanding history in Bed-Stuy can treat a customer with such disrespect. I pride myself on being courteous and respectful to all people, yet I felt insulted by the way I was spoken to. For installation, I trusted my own contractor--and for good reason. I would never rely on Bernie's so-called expertise again, despite them saying only they can be trusted to properly install a mirror. It was a breeze for my contractor. I will say that one other person that works there (I forgot his name) was extremely kind and helpful the few times I spoke with him. He actually showed that he cared about my experience and service. Not the case at all for Bernie. I wholeheartedly encourage others to shop elsewhere if they value respectful treatment along with quality products. While the items I received met my expectations, the experience left a sour taste that no one should have to endure.
